While John and Yoko were running all over the world looking for Kyoko, John was totally ignoring his own son, Julian who was the same age as Kyoko. If Cynthia had went into hiding with Julian would John have even bothered to look for his own son. I doubt it. Tony Cox didn't want Yoko around their daughter because he had lived with Yoko and knew she was a nutcase. Cox didn't spend his life on the run because he wanted to. He was protecting his daughter.

@llamawalrus Kyoko reached out to Yoko after John's murder in 1980, and re-established a relationship with her in 1994. I believe she also has a child, making Yoko a grandmother.

It's not clear why it took 14 years after John's murder for mother and daughter to fully reconnect. But Kyoko lives off the grid and maintains a relationship with Yoko to this day. She doesn't travel with her mother and make the appearances with her like Sean does. But I know they're still close.

I think it's great he's being so passionate about Yoko's daughter, it would be even better if he'd be as passionate about his son.

@Yecats17 , yet he made so little effort to be involved in his own son's life, moving clear to another continent and leaving him behind. From the time John and Yoko moved to New York, until John's death nine years later, Julian says he only saw his father about 7 or 8 times. John did write his son a letter right before his death. Yoko wouldn't give it to Julian and wound up, instead, selling it at an auction years later. Julian had to buy the letter John had written him.

I will agree with you that he should have been more involved, but I think whenever John saw Julian he probably was afraid. What I mean is that he probably saw Cynthia having Julian as a mistake instead of planned, and whenever he saw him he may have been reminded of the mistakes he was afraid to face throughout his entire life. Not an excuse, because John did treat his Julian bad. But I don't think John was purposely doing that...I think there was something he was reminded of when he saw Julian.

I've heard an interview where he poured his heart out about being a father and so on. He acknoledged that he hadn't been there for Julian but in his words apparently that when he'd organised a chance to have Julian come visit that his ex-wife would say that he was ill. Julian was ill i mean. It's wierd and don't think we'll ever properly know what went on.
