Just went on there web site and listened to the firs single. I must say it is good but not what I've expected of RHCP. I guess I'll have to wait for the full album to come out to make a complete opinion on this record, but rain dance maggie is good, It's missing Johns guitar magic but it's ok (i'm not saying that Josh is bad) . You can actualy hear that some parts would sound better if John was holding and playing that guitar! my opinion only, I would love to see what others think of it. Cheers!

One Hot Minute was ok, Navarro has a different style (obviously) than John and Hillel, that's why it sounds different. it's certainly on the bottom of favorites but i'm not saying it's bad either. when the greatest hits came out with Save The Population and Fortune Faded i guessed at their style changing and it did. By The Way was still cool but you sould sense the cool down and Stadium Arcadium reinforced it. I'm not too fond of the new single but i'm hoping for the best

I try to buy every track and album every made. I saw them four times in concert, have the official band tee, and read the book Scar Tissue by front man Anthony. I'm so stoked for the release of the new album, I put the artwork as my profile pic on Facebook and now looking up the set-list. I <3 RHCP!!
I am super pumped for the album, my birthday is on the 16th so im gonna get it for my birthday. With Klinghoffer replacing Fruciante and Flea's new influence from his music theory classes at UCLA, It'll be a new sound for them, but judging by their latest single they should sound as good as ever.
Some people say that the Chili's sold out by the time of Californication, i just don't get this phrase "Sold out" is it just that the music becomes more mainstream. Of all the Albums mentioned here, i think the best has hardly been given a mention "BY THE WAY" Its without a doubt the most polished piece of work they've done behind Californication, and was an amazing follow up, to what was a class act before. It is my opinion...good or bad!! im loving the Chilli's and what they do, keep rockin!!

One Hot Minute was their worst album. It really wasn't that bad though, still, I've never heard one person say it's their favourite album aha. Stadium Arcadium was a terrific album, it showed how much they had matured as a band and how much the music had grown. Granted it was probably another let down to old school Chili Peppers fans because it was in a completely different spectrum than say, Freakey Styley or The Uplift Mofo Party Plan.
One Hot Minute was a freakin awesome album... Aeroplane, My Friends, Falling into Grace, Warped! Cmon! I'm just naming but a few... But then again, I am biased. RHCP can release an entire album of them just farting into microphones and I would listen to it 4 times a day. EVERY. DAY.

Because Tracks like "The power of equality" " Suck my kiss" and "Funky monks" are really funky and nice, But the album still has some nice slow very melodic song like "under the bridge" and "I could have lied" And then are all the fun lyrics. @UltraDaveDude I never said you couldn't like it. It doesn't make me deaf, but Dave Navarro was so out of place in the band that it made the album weird. There's killer basslines, awesome drumming, and great vocals, but of all their albums it was my least favourite. You don't ever hear them play songs off of One Hot Minute at concerts. Other than for the One Hot Minute tour. The best songs from it, in my opinion, were Walkabout, Aeroplane, Tearjerker, Falling Into Grace, and Coffee Shop.

I Love how balls to wall, rockin, fuckin in your face it gets and how pristinely awesome the playing is from all involved. Probably in my opinion one of the sickest bass albums ever. The bass lines are terrific the whole album, i just can't get into Navarro's style, But, on Aeroplane, and Walkabout, he does some nice guitar work. I see where the By The Way perspective would come from. But, they just entered new things and new sounds. I love By The Way, i love all the albums.

@CrackingZombie Thats crazy. Mothers Milk is easily one of their best. If you don't like that album that probably has more to do with your personal taste than anything else. A lot of metal influence on that album, which I am quite fond of. Not as into alternative, though I love all their stuff.

@redhotwheeldon heres what I have to say to those people(i'm hugley into their old stuff) you can't expect a band as genre bending as the chilis to stick with that style. What they did in the 80s and early 90s was a time and a place thing. and you know what, considering that, they've kept a lot of funk in their music with the exception of By the Way which i will admit initially let me down but grew to love it. Alternative music in general is weaker now than it was 20 years ago.

It's going to be great and all, but most of the track-names make it seem like the Peppers are moving towards a softer-sound. When I hear the name "Red Hot Chili Peppers," I think crazy, loud, psychotic, and shit like that. Like I said, it's going to be great, but these names sorta push away from the type of music the Peppers are known for.
I realize it is possible to believe that RHCP isn't the same without John, and be insanely excited about Josh at the same time. I also can't wait to hear John's new music over the next few years. And I'm sure we're getting mad "I'm With You" b-sides

CANT WAITTT!!! i found out about RHCP right after they finished touring in 06. so i have been waiting for this for the longest time. thanks for coming back together RHCP! and even though Johns gone i am super upset :( but im more than excited to see what Josh has to offer!!!!!

@UltraDaveDude I never said you couldn't like it. It doesn't make me deaf, but Dave Navarro was so out of place in the band that it made the album weird. There's killer basslines, awesome drumming, and great vocals, but of all their albums it was my least favourite. You don't ever hear them play songs off of One Hot Minute at concerts. Other than for the One Hot Minute tour. The best songs from it, in my opinion, were Walkabout, Aeroplane, Tearjerker, Falling Into Grace, and Coffee Shop.

@redhotwheeldon Wow saying that One hot minute is their worst album is sacrilege to me and i lot of people who where teens in the 90's. I Love how balls to wall, rockin, fuckin in your face it gets and how pristinely awesome the playing is from all involved. Probably in my opinion one of the sickest bass albums ever. I still think blood sugar is probably the best and yes you guessed it i'm one of those old schoolers...For mine "by the way" is easily the worst album.

@QTGbass Never said it to offend people, I am also an old school Chili Pepper's fan aswell, and a new school too. I like One Hot Minute, but for me it was my least favourite. The bass lines are terrific the whole album, i just can't get into Navarro's style, But, on Aeroplane, and Walkabout, he does some nice guitar work. I see where the By The Way perspective would come from. But, they just entered new things and new sounds. I love By The Way, i love all the albums.

@migbee Haha, clever. In MY OPINION it was their worst album compared to all of the other albums. It wasn't a bad album in general, but compared to the others it didn't do much for me. I don't see how they could be filler when the Chili's put their heart and soul into all the music they make, i loved every track. But i respect your opinion.

@CrackingZombie Thats crazy. Mothers Milk is easily one of their best. If you don't like that album that probably has more to do with your personal taste than anything else. A lot of metal influence on that album, which I am quite fond of. Not as into alternative, though I love all their stuff.

@redhotwheeldon heres what I have to say to those people(i'm hugley into their old stuff) you can't expect a band as genre bending as the chilis to stick with that style. What they did in the 80s and early 90s was a time and a place thing. and you know what, considering that, they've kept a lot of funk in their music with the exception of By the Way which i will admit initially let me down but grew to love it. Alternative music in general is weaker now than it was 20 years ago.

i admit that stadium arcadium wasnt there best album, and some say its there worse. thats not a bad thing, it just means that every band has a worse album, but even though stadium arcadium is far from best, its still a brilliant album if you know what i mean

It's going to be great and all, but most of the track-names make it seem like the Peppers are moving towards a softer-sound. When I hear the name "Red Hot Chili Peppers," I think crazy, loud, psychotic, and shit like that. Like I said, it's going to be great, but these names sorta push away from the type of music the Peppers are known for.

when i found out it was coming out august 30th, i literally started screaming like a girl, ran around my house, and looked for someone to hug. CANT WAITTT!!! i found out about RHCP right after they finished touring in 06. so i have been waiting for this for the longest time. thanks for coming back together RHCP! and even though Johns gone i am super upset :( but im more than excited to see what Josh has to offer!!!!!
