  • when ever i try and tie my letter strand which is red around my weaving strand which is black there is always a hole any way i can fix it ? please help

  • @BOOMxxBOOM92 Pull upwards more (gently) and wiggle slightly.

  • Can you make a video showing all the alpha cards? :)

  • @dwilkent24 There's too many to show. Just visit friendship-bracelets(dot)net

  • "As long as you can count, you're good to go."

You don't know how much I like that sentence..

  • do i really need 5 ft of string?! 65in.????

  • @chester2049 Nope. I lied to make everyone waste string.

  • I need to make 3 T's on a friendship bracelet (along with a few other letters)...and I can't get the Vertical line centered without making it really thick, and it looks...awful :P

    Any suggestions? :/

  • @AmanduhMiller You could do two of the horizontal rows for the tops of the T's possibly.

  • how do you add more string afterwards?

  • @qtcraftygurl The method of adding is the same as the first string you added- clip it down and start using it.

  • @BeyondBracelets but woont there be a string hanging on the side of the bracelet?

  • @qtcraftygurl You cut it off at the end (or) sew it into the back of the bracelet.

  • @BeyondBracelets o thanks

  • Can you just make me one that says.........RACHEL???:0

  • @BuddyClubRae I don't do these. I have issues with my hands (carpal tunnel) and alphas take many hours to complete.

  • Excellent!!

  • thnxxx

  • This really helped me. Thanks. I'm gong to make one for my friend.

  • @beyondbraclets i found it and it really helped me thank u :D :D :D

  • @leahnyc25 Awesome, glad it helped. Have fun!

  • sorry im really confuesed :/

  • @leahnyc25 Check my channel for the banner at the top. Click the yellow "Start Here" button and you should try to watch/understand those basic tutorials before coming back here. It may help you a bit. Good luck.

  • how do u switch color.(example: if i wannted for the z to be red/brown n then after the z the smiley to be green?)

  • @leahnyc25 Multicolor alpha tutorial.

  • how do you keep the rows from slanting?

  • @cnfordbsu check the 5 minute 30 second mark in this video:

    /watch?v=BUvOExhRaJk

  • my bracelet is not straight.is it because i'm a beginner?

  • @MegaJessica1 /watch?v=BUvOExhRaJk (5 :37 in that video should explain.)

  • "as long as you can COUNT you can do any pattern"

    BAHAHAHAHA

  • @5555555555988

Ummm, I'm not sure what you mean by patterns...Sorry.

But i got my strings at Wal-mart. You can get it at a dollarama for a cheaper price.

If you're in Canada i would recommend these stores. or else i don't know any other places. XD

  • This video is made for retards like me :'D THANK YOU SO MUCH <3 it helped ALOT

  • @5555555555988 The patterns in this video I made with markers and a blank grid. If you want pre-made patterns they are listed in the video description.

  • How do you make a bracelet if you only want ONE letter black and the rest red?

  • @dwilkent24 I'd do red as the base strings and then make the weaving string whatever color you want the background.. then to get that one black letter you substitute a black string in like in the multicolor alpha tutorial.

  • @BeyondBracelets

But I want the base string to be white, One letter black, and the other letters red...

So how would i make that one letter black? :S

  • @BeyondBracelets

And what do you mean by multicolor alpha tutorial?

Can you pleaseee post a video that shows how to make the letters different colours? :D

  • @dwilkent24 I have the tutorial already. Check my channel and click "Start Here" on the banner. You should see a link to the alpha patterns.

    (or)

Type "BeyondBracelets Multicolor Alpha" in the search to find it.

  • how many letters do you think can fit in a 5 1/2 inch bracelet?

  • This video helped me a lot (: Thxx

  • can you post a viedo of the letters K,A,V,I,and N

please i think you make the best viedos thanks

  • @kavinapatel I don't do personal letters. This one video should teach you how to read any of them. They are all done the same.

  • Comment removed

  • People are stupid if they don't get this! -_- love your videos :D

  • @theGreenteacup I doubt they are stupid- I think they are just too lazy to watch the 'four types of knots' video to learn the basics.

    Also... thank you.

  • what if u put the yellow one with all of the dark ones and still do the weaving?

  • @smile4800 It would look the same. I just put it on the side because it is showing how to attach it. You will need to attach new weaving strings and so I killed two birds with one stone by leaving it detached.

  • @BeyondBracelets

when I do the backwards knots on the base string it always droops! help....please

  • @hafsa1471 Don't pull the base string hard. Be gentle and let the string that is making the knot be in control while loosening up on the string which is getting knotted on.

  • @BeyondBracelets

    Thank you soooo much,

Btw i love all you vids :D

  • how long should the string be ? to fit a 71/2 inch wrist?

  • @deepdiistance The base strings depend most on how many letters. 5 or so should be 65 inches and still fit about 7 inches (you have ties so the bracelet doesn't need to be the full length) if you have 6-10 letters maybe try 70 inches. For the weaving strand you just add in more as you need it. It will probably take an entire skein for the full background. You can use it as a full skein or just cut it and attach like in the multi-color alpha tutorial.

  • Awesome vid keep it up!and don't listen to those haters they are just jelous

  • So, basically, any pattern you make on graph paper (like you would for a bead loom) can be created with this method (granted a ton of colors would get NUTS!). Very cool. Thank you for explaining this so well.

  • @CMBnet Yeah, bead loom patterns would work for this method. I think that the multicolor alpha would be better suited for them most likely. Also... you're welcome. I'm glad you understood.

  • Skip to 12:45 if you want to learn how to make the Z

  • 14:40 naughty girl

  • @astronauts555 Haha. I didn't really think about it. Oops? =x

  • this is great a great video :) very detailed! thank you so much! XD

  • can someone check out my new video please?like just stop by and watch it?if u subscribe rate or comment,it would mean a lot to me

  • Will an alpha look good if done with yarn

  • @myowlissexy It will be bigger/fuzzier but it will look pretty much the same.

  • You're awesome. Enough said.

  • i love you.. lol i always forget how to make braclets and just get on and watch theses and bam!

  • I have a suggestion: Your videos are really good, and I'm not trying to offend you, but if you fast forward the parts that you aren't really talking and you're just knotting a little bit so the videos will be a little shorter and more people will watch them :)

  • @ThatRandomRachel I've done that and people complained. Lots more complain when I fast forward than when I don't.

  • @BeyondBracelets Ohk :)

  • Can u make a video on how to make alpha bracelets that r with 3 colors or more

  • @freakygirls99 I already have one. "Multicolor Alpha"

  • i luv how u explain things so clearly! it acctually seems pretty easy 2 do now that i listened 2 athis vid! thx u so much!

  • you said we will need more than one string for the weaving string, so when we're finished with that string...we need to tie another one to the bracelet? how do we do that? won't there be a bump in the bracelet or something?

  • @yourpersonalgroupie I should post a video on how to tie it on but... if you stop using the short string and add the new one tie it on to the next string you will be using and then after tying on make a basic '4 knot' using bk or fk depending on the row. I try to do that in the middle of the row because if you do it at the edges it is more noticeable. At the end cut off the strands on the back and add a dab of glue. Should be fine.

  • Lol as long as u can count..ur good to go

  • That's cool I may have to give it a few tries to make sure you can see what I'm doing. Night.

  • @inspelled Go to friendship-bracelets*net and click on the "Generate" tab. You'll see a red and white grid for Name Bracelets- Type your name or the letter you need help with there and it should be 7 strings. It's one more than you wanted but it's still not that bad. Hope that helps.

  • I keep trying and I can get everything to work upto when I try to do the letter. The first thing that happens is the notes don't sit right no matter what I do or how I hold it. The second thing is when I do make the letters and I pull to try to get them to sit right is that they go side ways so instead of a square they end up on an angel. I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong as all the others I've done so far worked.

  • @inspelled I can't really help more unless you show me how you are making them. You can do this by making a video and marking it as 'visible only to those who have the link' then sending me the link in my private inbox. You could also try taking a picture but I will still be guessing what you are doing.

  • I'll try to make a video and see if you could help me with it there. I'm trying them sideways more then up and down otherwise yea I tend to get confussed.

Thanks for your willing ness to help.

  • @inspelled You're welcome. Excuse if I don't reply tonight though. I'm off to bed now (it's after midnight here) so I'll try to look it over tomorrow sometime.

  • I've tried to record it but can't seem to get my camra angel right as I have to hold it. I'm going to try again and PRAY that you can see it.

  • @inspelled Well, good luck. I know it's difficult to film when you have really bad camera 'supports' to angle it. You could try to use some clothe to tie it to something like a folded towel or something? I don't know... =x

  • Found a way. My Dad's stand so hopefully it will be really close and clear.

  • I think I finally fingured it out. With me I have to pull the braclet sideways to sit the strings right. It's not perfect in the lettered rows but I believe it will do. Thanks again

  • Thank you so much! Your video makes it easy to understand & I can't wait to get started :)

  • you said 65 inches for the weaving string, but you're using a lot less. I guess you just ''add more as you run out'', but how do you add another string to your weaving string? Do you just tie it on, because I thought that if you do that one of your knots on the bracelet will be oddly large and weird.........help?

Im doing HK :). for each foreground string, I have about 2 and a half feet. for my weaving string, I have about 5 feet. will that be enough? if not, how do I add more string to it?

  • @MrsJoCullen I could try to make a video on The tie on just to show it. What you'll do is tie it on a new weaving string to the next available base string with a normal knot then make a single fk or bk depending on what it was supposed to be. Tying it on will count as a knot and will take one place of a normal 2-part knot.

I try to do the tie on within 3 knots before the edge so it does alter the edges of the bracelet.

  • @BeyondBracelets Thanks so much! The bracelet is for a friend and I don't want it to look bad THANK YOU!

  • awesome, picked it up pretty much straight away, it is fiddly and fairly complicated but once you get the hang of it its alright! Good video, thank you! x

  • Haha

    * other one

Sorry typing on my phone lol

  • Your otherone was perfect! Ive been sunscribed to you for a year and you do an AMAZING job at teaching! You were the first person i went to learn alphas and now i can make so many things!!!!! Keep up the AMAZING work 3

  • you know at roughlt 15:30.. you talk about not pulling on your string because it will droop, well basically, im struggling to do this. when i pulll up on the other string.. i dont understand how you dont pull on the other string.. otherwise i have no control on the knot?

  • @blueflower951 Be very gentle. The base string knotting on to the weaving string can be tricky. You have to lightly guide the weaving string while letting the base string do the work. It takes some practice.. just try different tensions on a practice bracelet and see what happens when you pull more, pull less, pull at a different angle, etc.

  • Where did you get the materials?

  • @craziieqirl333 Michaels.

  • the very first knot you did was a forward, but then you pulled it like a backward knot?

  • @blueflower951 Because it was easier to make the knot from the left side. The first knot doesn't matter all that much.

  • thi girl is the most patient person i have ever met...

i probably would have cracked at the 10 min mark LOL

  • @koreanmaniac216 I crack but it's not during the videos. Comments get the best of me sometimes. =x

  • lol at why you would do number... "hey can i have your number please?" ... "check my bracelet;)" LOOOOOL

  • @blueflower951 Not phone numbers...

School Sports have numbers, Years have numbers, Special dates require numbers, Some sayings like "Lucky 13" have numbers... etc.

  • @BeyondBracelets i know! i was just thinking on the funny side;)

  • Funny thing:today i was to school with the bracelate with my name....Alll girls sawed it and now, each wants one.I said``money``....2 dolars each!!Now i have to make 15 bracelates...Lolz,I win money 4 that,...

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 You might kick yourself for that decision since they take super long to make... lol.

I wouldn't charge less than 10 to be honest... but it's just because I know how much work goes into them.

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 haha yeah I made a soda tab bracelet and now I have to make like 11 haha *:

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 I know, i may my scottish, but people at school were like, omg i want one and i was like.. well they take time so i will charge.. and my closet friends are paying me 4 pounds, whereas others are paying me 5! IN ADVANCED!! i have 6 people that have paid me 4 pounds and 8 that have paid me 5... i have64 pounds with me!!!

  • @Softballroxx2011 thats what happened to me at first, you have to tie the knots upward and tightly, it should work :)

  • @chaoscrafts YOU! AIM! now! =D

  • I remember when you taught me how to make them and i was like yey! and i don't feel a newb anymore

  • @chaoscrafts Haha, hey there girly. Long time no talk. =D

I got my sleep machine and a new mask (the first one they fit me with didn't fit but this new one does) and I finally slept for the first time in like... 5+ years. It was glorious. I slept like 12 hours straight. ^_^ I still don't feel 100% yet but it might take a few weeks to get into rejuvenating myself and having my body stop craving sleep.

We need to talk. Maybe tomorrow I'll sit on AIM and see if you hop on. =D

  • yay congrats!! have fun sleeping haha i work all day ugh double shift killed me my feet hurt LoL! at leaast i got stickers for resin like 23042 % off #winning. I get home tomorrow at 2 so i should possibly be on! ugh i haven't made a craft video in forever it makes me a sad panda

  • @chaoscrafts Yeah... I'm trying to upload my soda tab one. =/

It's confusing as heck. I even confused myself while making it... about 5 times I had to edit. Oh well. Haha.

  • @BeyondBracelets OO MORE VIDEOS YEYYY that makes me happy. stupid slow internet. ffuuu lolllol

  • Ok thanks.Really??HOURS???tO ME TAKED 1 day...But with 10 breaks by a hour each,lolz☺

I finally maked my name, and you helped me...Great alpha video EVA!!

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 I'm glad you were able to figure it out. Congrats!

  • my string kept snapping. i finally got somewhere on my third bracelet :)

  • @SuccetteTheLollipop I'm going to take a guess you were using craft thread. I had that problem with craft thread when I was first starting out. I switched to six stranded embroidery floss and haven't had a string snap ever since the switch.

  • @BeyondBracelets where can i find that thread? thx so much!

  • @SuccetteTheLollipop Craft store should have it... Walmart has craft thread but I find it much weaker than six stranded embroidery floss found in the art stores.

  • i maked my own pattern and NOW i`ve understand... ONE Q:wHEN I`M AT ANY LETTER,I MAKE BACKWERE KNOTS on THE COLOUR STRAND??i THINK SO..

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 Not backward knots only. You need to do opposite what the colored strand is doing.

  • 7:56..

  • Are u making only z??My name is DARIA and i think i`m gonna work a lot to write my name on a bracelate...

  • @MileyWebkinzFan900 To make a full name it takes hours.

  • Does it matter how many strings you use to do this? Because I want to make one but I don't know how many strings I would need.

  • @xXCheyenne94Xx You can use as many as you need. Count the boxes on your pattern and that is how many base strings you will need. The written instructions below the video explain further.

  • Hey hey! I have a quick question (kind of). I commented on an earlier video because I couldn't perform the pattern correctly. You had told me it was because I was holding too tightly to the foreground string. Does this mean that I can just hold it loosely and if the knot flips just let it be, then continue as normal with the other strings?

  • @TheSaturdayParty If the knot is flipping you need to adjust tension of the opposite string by making it a bit tighter so it flips back.

Alphas are a bit tricky with how you need to pull the strings. If you need to make a knot onto the weaving string with the background string you need to loosen up on the weaving string and let the background string be in control. If it's the color of the weaving string then you did it a bit too tight.

  • hey i love your videos and i would like to know wat type of string u use because i have string that is always separating and it is really annoying i already tried thick string but its not the same

  • @mimihotti Six stranded embroidery floss. Some people use craft thread but I find it to be weaker. It won't "separate" like embroidery floss but if you pull too hard or wear the string down it is more likely to snap. There are pros and cons for both floss and craft thread... in the end it's up to you to decide which one you like more and can tolerate.

  • How do we start this ? Besides a loop' because I'm making a bracelet with a picture , and there's 15 strings including the long string? And how do. U end it?

  • @braceletgeek01 Braids... or some people tie the strings together at the end and then use a ribbon clamp.

  • Thank you so much. My knots were always sagging and doing that so i gave up all the time :D i thought it was the way i was doing my knots. now i know. that really helped. :D

  • Thanks i did this in my second try!! nice tutorial! :D

  • I LOVE your videos!! They are sooo helpful & well made :) Keep doing what you do girl!

  • thanks this video was really useful

  • @IzzyCruz100 Nothing you can do about it other than just look for smaller patterns, Smaller patterns mean less detail that is why people use more- they want more detail.

  • Can u find a graph paper with a letter J or Jenna PLEASE? BEYONDBRACLETS?

  • @JennaKo1101 Click "Show more»" for other alpha tutorials & FREE PATTERNS

  • @BeyondBracelets do u have any videos for how to make the letter j? SORRY TO BOTHER YOU!

  • @JennaKo1101 The video covers how to make any letter. Just follow the grid.

  • @BeyondBracelets Okay thanks!

  • OH MY GOD!!!! thank you sosososososso*** much for making this. i know it must have been really hard to film these long videos but im SO glad you did. oh my god, u have no idea how much this helped. you're amazing! :D

  • just wanted to say your site is awesome! thanks for being the only person, ive found so far, who isnt an annoying teenage girl, and someone who knows what the heck shes talking about! just wanted to say that youre appreciated! and uh keep up the awesome patterns!

  • when I do a row of forward knots and then another row of backward knots, it turns into a zig zag kind of bracelet. this question might sound stupid but I am confused!

  • your my bracelet Goddess! <3

  • @rubberstarlet Haha... well... thank you.

  • thanks

  • I've been making bracelets with knots like these and most of the times when I do one in a knew style it's because i though up of it. I've never learned how to read grid patterns so thank you so much for this video :D

  • Did u make those grids with the patterns

  • @The101Bracelets Yes. There's plenty of grids available if you don't want to make your own, though. I linked in the description bar.

  • @BeyondBracelets ok thanks

  • thanks for this tutorial. Great demo and I was able to make my first letter. I think I will have a problem if I have to use more than two colors. I don't know how to place them. I guess I'll learn as I do more. I've only made 4 bracelets, 2candy and 2 pink ribbon because I followed your demos. I like that you talk us through the video. Very helpful. I find myself saying backward knot, forward knot, backward forward knot while I'm doing them. Good that I'm alone when I do that.

  • @sewblue2 If you mean problems with alpha patterns with multiple colors check out my "Multicolor Alpha" tutorial. watch?v=lwqEodUipPI

  • @BeyondBracelets Thanks. I watched the video and it makes so much more sense than what I thought I would have to do. I'm going to practice 2 color alphas some more before I venture into multicolor

  • sorry i wasnt listing all the way thorugh lamo never mind

  • i dont know if anybody already asked this question but sorry if they did but what happend if you run out of the yellow string ?

  • thank you so much for helping me out i really do appreciate it ........this is just a request can u please please show the bracelet #261 or #8965 sorry to bother you its just that i had my heart set on those two but i couldn't figure them out plz and thank you LOVE YOURE VIDS

  • @cueto4life Did you happen to look at my video on how to read patterns on friendship-bracelets(dot)net?

    /watch?v=1NIBj64NUXw

  • this video tottaly help .. thx for showing !

  • Ok i think i get it now. Ill try it out later. The pattern i choose is absulutly massive (65 base strings) so im gonna have lots of fun with that. I think im going to have a string poster.

  • @Shatteredragon7 Haha... wow. Well, good luck on that one. =P

  • @BeyondBracelets wow this tutorial on alpha is much better! I've understood more!!! :)

  • @piggyrocks1102 Good. I'm glad I made it more clear. lol.

  • @Shatteredragon7 what pattern is that?

  • i know how to do these..but i just love to watch your videos..in my opinion..you are the best to explain bracelet making :)

  • @ayiuXgrrrrXfearXmeX Aw, thanks. =3

  • I picked up on this way before normal patterns. I find them easier. Because u always use all the strings, and u dnt rly have to worry bout the knots. Is this normal. I still have issues with the regular patterns. I always lose which row I'm on. Lol

  • @smarkham96 Haha... yeah you need to be diligent with keeping an eye on your row. When I do patterns that are large (like the octopus with the sea scenery) I write down what step I am on just to remind myself.

  • hey this helps us/me alot XD!
