What I do is have Hero equip a spear and Yangus have an axe. I let them use the critical hit skills for their weapons, while Angelo does Metal Slash, and Jessica uses... well... uhh....
I bet it took you 100 encounters with that King metal Slime to have THIS happen. Not running away. :O

@gamingdude65 acceleratle helps critical hits by 1 point. might not be a lot but you never know. and for jessica's sexiness you could use puff puff if you want to. also how hard is it to find a meteorite bracer?!?! you need 2 agility rings and an orichalcum u need it for the uber falcon blade. plus how long wil it take to get 20,000 casino coins? if you do get 1, you can do falcon slash with phsyce up. make jessica use highly strung cheese 4 munchie or the timbrel of tension.

well the better way to kill metal king slime and the more fastest way is keeping the Yangus agility the max possible and use executioner with axes, hardly hit the target, but when hit, one shot kill for sure.

@risingpower10 there is a sequel, just not what you think it is. Dragon Quest IX has been out for a while, it is just for the DS. They tend to follow the lead of Final Fantasy games though and don't have connected story lines.

In a battle fighting (and killing) TWO metal king slimes the metal slash at 50 tenison, my main guy did 12/12 damage,
I'm doing fistcuffs and i saw my first King Metal Slime (on my second file) and Angelo one hit killed him with a critical hit that like baffled the hell outta me!!! Angelo hit 113 on a King Metal Slime!!!

i usually just get yangus to use executioner, as itll do over 200 points of damage and kill it straight away, if it connects....however, u have more of a chance of the attack working then the slime staying in battle.

As anyone who is actually good at this game knows, the MKS dont stay that long. What i did was used executioner and hoped to hell i hit before the fn thing ran.
3 things. Executioner, Thunder thrust, and hope like hell he doesnt run before anyone even attacks...I cried over these fckn things. I havent seen king metal pussy for 18 hours of gameplay. Just imagine if there were a liquid metal king slime haha
Man Level 5 are amazing, they give us this and then a year later they give us Rogue galaxy, you guys should so take over from square. Square have fucked up with FF13.
Instead of doing all that you could just use the conquerers axe, and use Executioner. it takes a lot less time and kills them quicker. and you find MKS a lot more in the dragonbone graveyard. (i think thats the name of it) its in the desert. although the way used the in the movie is good i think its a little hard to keep a mks in a battle for those many rounds without it running away.
That's such a stupid tactic to kill a MKS.. The best way is Thunder Thrust (Hero Spear, 50% chance of crit), Executioner (Yangus Axe, 50% chance of crit), Psyche up (Angelo), Accelerate (Jessica spell (3 points to staves)), as critical hits ignores defence and thus it always one hits any metal slime because of the low hp, and if you should be lucky enough to have it stay long enough, a 50 or 100 tension attack by angelo will send it to the graveyard.
The problem is every is looking MSK for there experience training or getting on....I'm looking for Slime Crown drops....how often do they drop them. After what Lvl?
needle rain, Critical spear(4got the name), executioner, and the critical dagger(4got the name) works fine with me that way i have at least bigger chance of killing him in one shot.
@Zero29011 If you're talking about the weapon he's using in the movie, it's not an axe, it's a scythe, bought from Tryan Gully (Heavy Hatchet (the best scythe in the game, and also the strongest weapon for yangus))
Tho, i prefer axes because of better skills, and the best axe (Conquerers Axe) is to be found on Howlwind Hill (aka slime hill (wich is the best place for MKS hunting, and the place this movie is shot at (it's just around Rydon's Tower)))
@krnbboyprd I gotta disagree. I started with DQIX and had never played DQVIII so I bought it and.... what the heck is up with the fact that there are no classes/jobs at all but hero-specific abilities, thats lame. In DQIX you can multi-class and get all creative with it. Though I will say that DQVIII has much better graphics, naturally, since its on a console. Is the rest of the game really that good?

You got pretty lucky there.
But honestly if you wanted to go about it this way, it's a bit more effective to use a timbrel of tension.
That way your metal slashes can do more than 2 damage, like 3-4 or more with more turns.

@bdon818 this game does not need a remake is good as it is.
If you mean a new realesse for PS3 or other console in my opinion is not yet necessary this game is recent and I woun´t like to see it at Playstation Store by 9.99$.
Its not that hard to find a copy of this game I belive. Or an used PS2 to play it

i usually just get yangus to use executioner, as itll do over 200 points of damage and kill it straight away, if it connects....however, u have more of a chance of the attack working then the slime staying in battle.

As anyone who is actually good at this game knows, the MKS dont stay that long. What i did was used executioner and hoped to hell i hit before the fn thing ran.

3 things. Executioner, Thunder thrust, and hope like hell he doesnt run before anyone even attacks...I cried over these fckn things. I havent seen king metal pussy for 18 hours of gameplay. Just imagine if there were a liquid metal king slime haha

lolz, i just use lighting thrust and executioner :P one of them usually works. You need a bit of luck for them to actually stay in the battle though

Why don't you just use the critical moves for Hero with a spear and Angus with an Axe... way easier, this way is so impractical.

Instead of doing all that you could just use the conquerers axe, and use Executioner. it takes a lot less time and kills them quicker. and you find MKS a lot more in the dragonbone graveyard. (i think thats the name of it) its in the desert. although the way used the in the movie is good i think its a little hard to keep a mks in a battle for those many rounds without it running away.

That's such a stupid tactic to kill a MKS.. The best way is Thunder Thrust (Hero Spear, 50% chance of crit), Executioner (Yangus Axe, 50% chance of crit), Psyche up (Angelo), Accelerate (Jessica spell (3 points to staves)), as critical hits ignores defence and thus it always one hits any metal slime because of the low hp, and if you should be lucky enough to have it stay long enough, a 50 or 100 tension attack by angelo will send it to the graveyard.

needle rain, Critical spear(4got the name), executioner, and the critical dagger(4got the name) works fine with me that way i have at least bigger chance of killing him in one shot.

You're more likely to be struck by lightning then have a MKS stay in combat this long.

@Zero29011 If you're talking about the weapon he's using in the movie, it's not an axe, it's a scythe, bought from Tryan Gully (Heavy Hatchet (the best scythe in the game, and also the strongest weapon for yangus))
Tho, i prefer axes because of better skills, and the best axe (Conquerers Axe) is to be found on Howlwind Hill (aka slime hill (wich is the best place for MKS hunting, and the place this movie is shot at (it's just around Rydon's Tower)))

@krnbboyprd I gotta disagree. I started with DQIX and had never played DQVIII so I bought it and.... what the heck is up with the fact that there are no classes/jobs at all but hero-specific abilities, thats lame. In DQIX you can multi-class and get all creative with it. Though I will say that DQVIII has much better graphics, naturally, since its on a console. Is the rest of the game really that good?

Just have the fucking luck that is stays one turn (in your case it was three.....and we all know that this is friggin luck) and fire every critcial attack thats possible.Pray for Yangus to hit and thats all (Same strategy if you want to call it so like darksteeldragon)
