  • I guess you can applaud Duane Dieter for not cashing in on the "I train the Navy SEAL's in Hand to Hand combat" like everyone else does by selling DVD's. But then again, the kind of training he does, it would be impossible unless you had an entire training center.

  • @jpd782 Duane Dieter DOES have a training center in Easton, Maryland. however, he does NOT advertise that members of the SOCOM community train there. they have a nice sized building on the outskirts of town and keep quiet and to themselves.

  • @Bensmithstation60 Yes. He seems very "secretive" There is nothing really written about what he teaches. I first heard of him in 2001. I attended a SCARS 3 day camp back when that was popular. Jerry Peterson told us Duane Dieter was now teaching SEAL's. And if Jerry admitted to this, it had to be true.

  • @jpd782

oh trust me i know he trains SEALs and other members of the SOCOM community, as well as law enforcement agencies. but what i was saying is he does not advertise that fact. most people in Easton have no clue who he is and little to none know what goes on in his building, let alone his restricted floor.

  • @jpd782

Dieter is no longer connected with any SEAL Teams, he's over at Blackwater now.

& most SEAL operators didn't think too highly of his methods when he was over there.

  • @jamesejudy3

    sorry, Xe (not Blackwater)

  • Navy SEALS ftw

  • DEVGRU never gets any love from the media. They're on the same level as Delta Force...

  • @playsbba018 heh... they're getting some love now :)

  • @TriangleChoke96 Hah I guess so. It's about time. Though people keep calling them SEAL Team 6 instead of NSWDG, but whatever...

  • Why do SEALs always move (even in room clearing) with their barrels up and stocks under their arm pit instead of at the low ready? that's an outdated way to do that is likely to end up with guys shooting each other in the back if they stumble or the team has not quite perfect timing moving into a room. Not saying they don't make it work, being SEALs they can make almost anything work, just doesn't make sense when everyone else in the military does it differently.

  • @scnarb It makes it easier to get on target. It is one quick move and you are on target, unlike it you had it poining at the ground.

  • @Eagle249

I don't know, speed wise when I do it it seems about the same and at the low ready the barrel has no way of restricting your vision. If it works for them, who am I to say not to do it, but personally, and in the view of everyone I know who has been in room to room combat, it's not the best idea.

  • @scnarb also, have to think about your one hand on the guy's shoulder in front. But, it is how they train and still get the job done. So, it is all good.

  • @Eagle249

    Very true

  • @scnarb It's so you can strike someone with your weapon

  • Wow. Okay to all those who comment please remember that it's Navy SEAL not Navy seal. All caps for the SEAL part. (ignore my username not having it. youtube likes to be a jerk like that -_-)

  • lol

  • Its a system and yes some of it might be some of bullshido however the systems working downrange for seals as for the whole being special forces noone said you had to be something to train people in incase you didnt know most combatives instructors for special operations are civilian that design and tailor certain system for the needs of the unit

  • he was a Navy Seal Instructor, and former Navy Seal. I know because I used to practice martial arts under him in Maryland. He would actually bring enlisted Navy Seals once every year to help us train and do military obstacle courses. It was pretty insane, because, back then, any pictures taken of the event had to be screened for Seals. The pictures would come back with the eyes of the Seals cut out. Anonymity and secrecy. And, yes, he's legit.

  • Ummm. No!! Duane was never a seal! There are quite a few former team guys that work for him though.

  • Duane is the real deal. He was team guy and spent his time and effort to develop something that works, not something to make him rich. The strange stance is to protect as many vital areas of the body as possible while still providing a solid base to strike back from.

  • Duane was never seal. Where do all you guys get this stuff from. He is a martial arts practitioner that developed a system that would work for combat operators using linear movements in tight areas and focusing first and formemost on the weapons system. Dieter's system focus is: Shooting, Striking, and Sealing.

  • One thought to add here; CQD as I understand it is not exactly the same as "combatives" as people seem to be thinking of them. I think it has a different tactical goal: engaging bodies while getting and keeping weapons on target. You see people here in stances and movements intended to prevent someone from dislodging their weapon, or allowing them to dominate the situation without immediately using lethal force, but retaining that option at any moment. That's somewhat speciallized.

  • 5 stars, I believe it's pretty self explanatory, it's a big time team effort. I know tough guys that made through the SF "boot camp" no problem but psychologically were not team player's therefore didn't become SF.

  • im going to let you al know you have no idea what youre talking about. im in the navy and work at NSWC in coronado for CQD. its not a martial arts its life and death fighting and that video doesnt show 1/8 of what they actually do there.

  • You See his Face at 2:04

  • Dennis Call Sign "Snake" Chalker from Red Cell ( CT-HR SEALs ) is in this Video as an Instructor Etc.

  • oh their playing paint balls :) cool lol jking

  • are they training with bb guns ??? or what ??

  • Dudes, please don't even think about using sport MMA concepts in a real world CQB environment. Your uniforms, weapon placement, proximity to team-mates, comm gear, low visibility, etc., just doesn't allow for sport concepts at all. CQD has no equal 'in this environment'. If completed a CQD level I or II, keep your mouth shut and don't knock it.

  • indeed I neglected BJJ,sorry that is useful but complicated slow in combat to execute and takes much room,Muay Yhai is just the opposite but limited in techniqe(muay thai is the same as kick boxing)Krav Maga can be used in a closet and still be effective of course if U suck it don't matter what U know of course.(U is in general)

  • sport doesnt translate tyour right. however there are only two main styles of H2H that have been actually battle tested for years. these two are Israeli Krav Maga, and Filipino Kali.

  • Russian Sambo is also useful and effective however I would have to say my favorite is the Israeli Krav Maga.

  • First of theres a bunch of different schools offered to specops for H2H,second I've taken inshinryu a from of Okinawan martial arts for years which actuly is desceded from Busido(samurai) and more so tought to be better in real "street fight" or in this case combat most sporty styles such as Tae Kwon do get u nowhere so get u shit straight and littlebirds right sport has nothing to do with it

  • Sport never transition to real life. Everyone wants the fantasy and military and law enforcment is not immune.

  • thats great video. SO awesome.

  • The CQB stuff may be good but the hand to hand program is horrible. It's funny to see that even the best trained individuals are subject to the fantasy of the martial arts. The H2H is based on Okinawan Karate what a load of horse shit. And who is Mr Dieter? What's his background? From watching the video and training with guys that have trained with him again the h2h sucks..

  • Sport has nothing to do with real life combat.

  • which is why nearly every warrior culture in history has used some kind of combat sport to prepare its warriors for battle right? Not the same doesn't equal nothing to do with. Sport can be very similar and be a great training tool if you use it right. I'm so sick of this real life combat bullshit excuse.

  • takeda32, you are one stupid fool! How can you make negative comments on CQD when you have zero knowledge about? Search google for Mr. Dieter and his CQD system, then make an intelligent "INFORMED" comment.

  • takeda32 lol you obviously arent in the military and have no clue what your talking about lol and most of theyre H2H training isnt revealed to the public they have some of the best training in the world. And its CQD which btw is H2H training (look up the definition of H2H) and most systems nowadays are based off of traditional martial arts everything comes from somewhere. The program the SEALs are taught is proving to be very effective time and time again. Read around esp in history ull see.

  • Yeap, highspeed777 I don't know anything your right my time in the SF community was in the eighties and things have changed a lot. I'm sorry the guy is a joke.

  • Well NSW doesnt think so it its not really directed toward being completly H2H its more a mental guidelines for dealing with situations and many things from friends ive talked to have changed not just from the 80's but even early 90's what group you serve with?

  • Thanks, I've never seen Duane Dieter on media before.

Part of that video with CQD instructor is from BUD/S 234 video.

  • Can you post the entire video ?

  • No.

  • @TomKagan lol
