  • At 1:16 an invisible strum!

  • @superskwrl true! this is not live... or an overdub of a mistake

  • @gitarrstrimlaren What you are hearing is one complete take. The video was shot from two different takes and edited together.

  • @apogeedigital That explains the invisible strum thanks.

  • What a bugger that Tommy is, he makes it look so easy, the mark of a true musician, gawd bless im...

  • I have a raging ear boner now...

  • Your vid went viral on Nauru

  • Sadly...Chet is gone...but we still have Tommy...!!

  • does the apoggee one plug straight into the computer? no need for a mixer or anything?

  • @JustinEvans248 Yes, the Apogee ONE plugs into the Mac via USB.. You don't need any other hardware. Simply open GarageBand or any other Mac recording software and begin recording using ONE's internal microphone. ONE also has an XLR connection so that you can use any microphone you choose, and a 1/4" connection so that you can connect any instrument with a pick up directly to your Mac.

  • @apogeedigital so what am i to understand this was recorded using just direct input? or is there a mic? if this is direct input you just got a sale sounds fucking sweet quality

  • If you close the eyes it seems there's a whole band playing!

  • 3 peoples doesn't ear the music...

  • waltzing matilda! who bloody killed her?!

lying in the grass, with a dagger up her arse.

  • omg super difinitionnnnnnnnnnnn excelent audio!

  • Anyone knows what effects they use?

  • @ReykoRR Hundreds of hours of practice.

  • @nickeax I don't think you know the definition of effects.

  • @ReykoRR I do know the definition of effects. I was being a bit tongue in cheek, sorry. In my defence, I was trying to emphasise the importance of getting things right at the source. Some people think that great sounds can be made with effects and this is not true. Great sounds begin with a great performance. I can't hear any effects on this, it just sounds like a great player in a good room.

  • have this product, its amazing, but sadly it doesn't make me anywhere near as good as Tommy here.. haha

  • i think Apogee has payd him to do this vid. but apogee one is a great product though!

  • @luvvjewels

Not sure, but I notice it doesn't even have a cut-away... but it doesn't seem to limit him at all.

  • @luvvjewels Maton. It's Australian made.

  • Hey,"Big Problem Here!!!"

I was wonderin if apogee one is great for recording "Rap Song"

Cause i can't find anyone use this to recordin Hip Hop but only "Acoustic Song"

    Can U upload a rap demo recording by One,please & thankQ !!!!!

  • @kingrool0311 If you want to record rap, buy a standalone mic.

  • my lord - absolutely beautiful. technique and feel in a perfect dance.

  • It's all about the performance. This guy's guitar playing would sound good recorded on a $5 mic from radio shack! And the apogee one doesn't sound incredibly rich & detailed.

  • @dutchsamoan looking at the vid, it looks like he's using the built-in internal mic that comes with Apogee ONE. what you are saying is kinda like that pre-amp or AD conversion connected to a SM57(yes it's a dynamic mic but you get the point) doesn't sound rich and detailed.

  • he do anybody know the name of the song he plays?

  • @TheSleipnirfan Waltzing Matilda

  • Trust Christ 1:44

  • wow, look closely at 1:03, this one is cut!! however lovely song and brilliant performance as always :)

  • Hey what's the wood on that guitar called??

  • @edjrisme queensland maple back and sides and spruce top

  • tommy never make mistake. keep that in your mind :D

  • BTW, the tune in the middle is the 'Road to Gundagai' which also exploits the move from Cma to E7. Come to Hyde Park on Saturday 8/1/11 with your uke (will they let in those large 6 steel-string ukes?) and we can all play it together to open the Sydney Festival.

  • Bastard.

  • @samueljweston

    Haha :) Good isn't 'e?

  • ANYBODY PLEASE UPLOAD A VIDEO USING APOGEE ONE ON AN ACOUSTIC DRUM KIT ALTERNATIVE, ROCK OR HEAVY METAL SONG..LETS SEE HOW THIS THING WORKS?

  • I have the One and like the mic. The breakout cable is broken and I brought it back to the store. The small connector is fairly weak. Apparently I wasn't the first one with the problem.

  • People like him don't make mistakes unless it is truly a bad day (i.e. a friend passed away and you got locked out of your car which had your main guitar in there)

  • i came here because sungha jung favourited this video, thumbs up if you did too

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 I came here because the Apogee One is a powerful product... It's pretty cool that Sungha favourited this, though.

  • @sasukeuchiha9724

no , i came here because it is " Tommy Emmanuel " video

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 fuck sungha jung, this is the best there is

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 ummmmm..... ok, sungha jung is 15 this year.. and how old is tommy emmanuel? seriously, tommy emmanuel has been playing guitar way longer than sungha jung and then you tell me to fuck sungha jung shut the fuck up like you can do any better

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 if igor would have liked it there would be a million views

  • @seifs4 dude i sent that comment a year a go...

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 so what, its youtube? no one cares....

  • @seifs4 haha why so pissed dude, chill

  • @sasukeuchiha9724 I'm not, I'm saying time has nothing to do with it....

  • I love that acoustic!

  • His tone is so superb, his dynamics are perfect and his interpretation of music never ceases to amaze me, he is the best thing to come out of Australia since John Williams

  • this guy is ridiculously talented! sheesh!!!

  • sounds great ,is there something you did to take out white noise ? when i use my one with garageband i always hear a lot of hissing. is there away to get a bright sound using one without whitenoise?

  • @sktbj Where are you doing you recording ? naturally ambient rooms can add natural reverb but also the high frequency noise. Electrical appliances and grounding issues can impact white noise also, which is why I try to record off the laptop battery (or use conditioned power). If you don't have an acoustically appealing room I've gotten excellent results recording in a dead room (large closet) and adding in effects (if needed) in Logic or Pro Tools.

  • this is guitarplaying on a very high level! great work thump upgg

  • Genius.

  • the only problem with this is not a studio standard if I want to transfer my tracks to a professional studio every single studio use protools.

  • @Fujiman808

    LOL you are right. multitrack

  • @groomlake67 lol i was a bit confused

  • @Fujiman808 haha u got one strum on 1:50 n there's not in the music

  • @lanxcya haha there it is!

  • @Fujiman808 he's using his middle and ring finger to make the light strum. The mic's obscuring the view of the hand, so it's quite hard to see

  • Comment removed

  • @Fujiman808 its at 1:19 and he uses all his fingers to do it. he doesnt downward stumm it or up stumm it. if you dont believe me or your calling tommy a fake get fucked. and try this yourself. next time dont be a faggot and pick out things you think could be bad

  • @TheDudeFrom0Z LOL seriously...

  • @TheDudeFrom0Z apparently i offended you. Tommy Emmanuel is my favorite guitarist period. I never called him fake or anything. I'd never. and I apologize if I sounded arrogant or anything from whatever comments I put.

  • @Fujiman808 Ahah oh wow, people are pissed at you :p

IMHO, you're absolutely right, the video and audio don't correspond. It's just a question of video editing. Of course there is no doubt about the fact that TE is playing the whole tune.

That beig said, TE's the best, he'll always be to me :)

  • @t0umart0u lol dude I love Tommy Emmanuel. In fact, one of these days I'll upload a few of my favorite Tommy Emmanuel songs. Everyone please don't get offended or anything about my comment. I was just pointing out that it didn't match with the video.

  • @Fujiman808 its not even that you said it so much. its that it is on highest rated comments. remove it and stop future quorrils.

  • @TheDudeFrom0Z sounds fair to me.

  • @TheDudeFrom0Z dude.. you try it your self, there is no way to use your finger to make a strum sound like that unless you strum with your nails which he didn't do that in the video, i'm a big fan of tommy, i play a lot of his tones i know how it works, i really think that 1:17-1:18 doesn't match up the video i dont think the entire video is fake though.. anyways! he is the best guitarist in the world no matter what ...

  • @SmellsLikeCokeCola oh and 1:50 he did a strum and the audio don't match up again try that your self too

  • @SmellsLikeCokeCola look at it again, you will see he uses his thumbpick to get the first three or four, then his fingers for the last two. i just tryed it on the same chord and produced the same thing.

  • @TheDudeFrom0Z no man, he used the thumb pick to do travis picking which is 6th and 4th string...

he dosent strum like that. watch 1:50 thats a strum and it should produce whats in 1:17..

i think this video was cut some way but im sure is real cuz he cant fake the ending...

i think this video was cut some way but im sure is real cuz he cant fake the ending... there is no point of use thumb pick to pick first 3-4 string then use finger, he never do that, he just use thumb pick to strum ...

  • @SmellsLikeCokeCola well i did, and besides this is a pretty stupid argument for the sake of 2 seconds of this amazing song....

  • Where can i find the tab of this song with capo?

  • @flashvideomasta It's part of the song mate :) Tommy doesn't make mistakes... He probably makes a mistake every year or 2

  • @flashvideomasta he does! and then he saves it so seamlessly it seems like it could even be on purpose. what a pro~

  • @flashvideomasta If you think that sound is weird, you have some serious problem hearing. How can you say that the beautiful harmony sounds weird? haha

  • @flashvideomasta it calls "clipping sound" that mic was to sensitive....and always remember: Tommy NEVER makes awful noises! ;-)

  • @kdelplancke NO! It's a completely different thing.

  • this guitar is bad ass

  • Bravo, bravo, bravo!!!

  • Absolutely amazing! His use of 'Artificial harmonics' is amazing! Truly an amazing player! His playing makes me smile on a bad day. :D

  • Oh dear. The video does not lie. I picked this up yesterday, the mic quality is absolutely incredible. The output is fantastic too. I don't think I've ever been happier with a purchase.

  • @NewgroundsOwnSBB totally agree. I got one 2 days ago and am still amazed at how good the built in mic is

  • I mean, of course, ask Tommy Emmanuel to record for you - it will sound good - but dude that sound quality is pretty darn good

  • sooo fine.... hm.... love love love

  • pure pleasure :)

  • What a player!

  • Great post. Worth noting that Tommy often plays "Matilda" with "Road to Gundagai" which he does here too (around :35 to almost 1:00) . This fingerpicker IS taking over the World a day at a time.

  • awesome!! do you have anything more?

  • Amazing performance, and a sweet sound.
