Prof Liviu Librescu was a Romanian who was teaching the day of the Virginia Tech shootings. He held a door shut with his body while Students escaped out of a window. Cho shot him dead thought the door he was holding shut.

This guy is a hero, but his surviving the holocaust is irrelevant at best to draw a conclusion to. He was ten years old then, how does that connect to the person he died as? And also he was not far away from his home, clearly he wouldn't have stayed in VA if he hadn't made a home for himself there.
It is better to think that his mission was to survive so that the lives of young people could be saved. I just hope these students are the legacy of a beautiful example of selfishness and sacrifice and that they also leave their good seed in this world.

God has many faces, many forms, there are a lot of ways how people perceive him/her/it. I'm an atheist and feeling sorry for me won't change that.

Think, if they gave him death: the easy way out by execution or posion or any of that BS, That's the quick way to die, the easy way. If you say somone deserves to die because of commited crimes, i'd bet you would want them to rot in jail for life with no bail or whatever it is.

the Columbine Massacre had two high school guys use bombs (in a poor attempt) and shot 15 people with guns... this made it an interesting incident, and what makes Virginia Tech Massacre similiar is that this guy was also a loner like the two guys at Columbine, and ended up killing 30 people...

This guy is a hero, but his surviving the holocaust is irrelevant at best to draw a conclusion to. He was ten years old then, how does that connect to the person he died as? And also he was not far away from his home, clearly he wouldn't have stayed in VA if he hadn't made a home for himself there.

It is better to think that his mission was to survive so that the lives of young people could be saved. I just hope these students are the legacy of a beautiful example of selfishness and sacrifice and that they also leave their good seed in this world.

It is amazing what Dr. Librescu did to save the lives of his students. But, it is sad that he survived the Holocaust only to die here as a victim of more sensless violence. He should be an example to all of us that we should respect our fellow man, especially in times of trouble. Today is Yom Ha'Shoah: Holocaust Rememberance Day. Dr. Librescu should be honored for what he did. Let us never forget.
