The Apologetix never cease to amaze me. I'm just wondering if they are aware that Wayward Son was remade by Rachel Rachel (an all-female Christian band) back in the early 1990s. The Rachel Rachel version featured a cameo appearance by Kerry Livgren (co-founder and guitarist for Kansas). I believe that the lyrics in the Rachel Rachel version were either unchanged or had only minor changes. Either way, when you look at it from a Christ-like perspective, it takes on a whole new meaning!
No, it wasn't. None of the members were Christians when releasing the album that Carry On Wayward Son appeared on. When Kerry Livegren became a Christian, he recorded one more album with Kansas and then left the band. However, other members of the band overtime became Christians as well, such as Dave Hope and John Elefante.
grank620 I am wondering if Kerry Livgren (sp ?) knows about this. He is a born again Christian and I have his Music with AD. I was greatly blessed by this song!!!
i agree it sounds like the orig. i luv kansas alot. i grew up listening 2 dem. carry on wayward son is 1 of my all tym favorite prog rock song and lately i found out about apologetix and i like the parody of the band esp. coz im a christian and i like their rendition of some faved songs like stairway to heaven, tom sawyer, bohemian rhapsody, hotel california, another brick in the wall. and now just this day i discovered this my all time fave prog rock to a parody, splendidly and amazingly done.

The funny part about the cover is that the original song is about the prodigal son...

I am always surprised how well they manage to do considering they arn't a parody band of a specific band and the wide range of songs they do.

The prodigal son story is one of my favorite parables of Jesus. Because it shows how God will always take us back.
