@mrwashur1991 It is not too bad. The Flip was awful in low light situations. The VIXIA handles it quite nicely. Obviously you can see patching but it still looks nice.

@LiliaGS its the same camera except one has an onboard memory and one has no onboard but has a sd card slot. same zoom speed, focus everything. I have a hf 21 which has both sd and onboard if you want the most out of it.

@ipathbryansk8 The main interface can upload videos but not play or edit them as it does for photos It also creates a clutter of Start menu shortcuts in Windows that you dont need since these programs are called by the main program

ZoomBrowser. About the Pixela video editing software provided forget about it. better forgotten. To transfer videos you need both the power and usb cables. lots of click will be involved. the best way to handle this camcorder get a sdhc class 6 and powerdirector

@Mandaramaster I own a HF 21 same camera except with 64 gigs onboard and an option for a sd card. the remote control definately helps if you want to do steady cam and don't want to have to deal with the small controls.

it's also great if you are self videoing, taking video of yourself walking up a path. it preserves memory and saves some manual editing.

Good job! I own the same camera, but have it pimped out to make up for it's weak points. Here's my video response of what you can do with the Vixia, even with the crappy weak winter sun/colors here in Vancouver. Tip: if you can't afford a boom or shotgun mic, get a cheap (less than $10) external mic off ebay. Your sound for your reviews will be nicer. Good job. Rememer: AVOID THE AUTO MODE on the Vixia! Cheers.

So I am trying to make a outdoors type video here, I got my self a Canon dc320 and well the picture isn't all that bad but it keeps making a buzzing sound which I am confident is the device writing to the dvd. hey im having frame rate issues with this camera and im having trouble finding the answer. just hoping you have the answer. when im recording and play the video back on the camera it looks fine, but when i import it onto my computer using the software it came with, the frame rate is horrible. i have only had this 1 day so far, and i've only shot indoors and at night so its all lamp lit. im really not sure what setting to put it on. any help would be appreciated. thank you.

@Rakoshima Download a free program called Handbrake and it will convert the file to mpeg4, I think the frame rate issue is just because of your computer. This is a VERY common problem with AVCHD. You have to either: A, convert the file to something your computer can read faster. Or B, get a Quad Core. I use quicktime pro and adobe After Effects to convert the file. Oh and a very important note: HANDBRAKE CAN ALSO DE-INTERLACE THE VIDEO!!!!

SDHC cards have been dropping in price since last year, and speeds are getting faster and faster. For HD recording it's recommended that a 4 speed or greater be used (6 is ideal).

Btw, you can just as easily use a Micro SDHC card (with an adaptor). Same speed as the full size SDHC cards, but usually cheaper. ; )

I have the Legria HF200 and i freaking LOVE it. The HF200 is called Vixia in the USA and in the EU it's called Legria. The best is to use a 16GB or 32GB SDHC memory card with class 4 or 6. I heard/read that class 10 memory cards are uncompatible in some cases.
