  • The music's not Sullivan... I have a feeling that it's original.

  • That is totally the best pirate ever.

  • I thought I was the only one who knew this poem! They left out 2 verses.

  • Glenda is much more pleasant to listen to that the orginal record. Whoever picked it for her including herself did a great job. I love it.

  • No, that's the great Shakespearian actress Glenda Jackson. Apparently she always wanted to play a lady Pirate.

Poem is "The Walloping Window-Blind" by W. S. Gilbert. Set to music by his partner Sullivan (as in Gilbert & Sullivan.)

  • @ostlandr Actually it's Charles Carryl, a contemporary of Gilbert. Not sure who did the music. I can definitely imagine some prankish Savoyards sneaking this into a production of HMS Pinafore, though.

  • I still want to watch two sketches from the Glenda Jackson episode: "At the Dance" and "Shaky Sanchez' Bomb-Balancing Act".

  • Well, if you can't beat 'em, JOIN 'em!

    Geronimo! Lol!

  • Oh I just realized it's a woman pretending to be a man.... weird.

  • @IoSonoUomo lots`a girls did that in plays before

  • @Bubbilicious14 I've done quite a bit of that myself. When you have a low singing voice and there's a shortage of male tenors in community musical theatre, you learn how.

  • Why is the lead singer a fag?

  • It's impossible to be mad or upset while watching the Muppets!!!! Thank you Jim Henson!!!!

  • That poem is "A Capital Ship for an Ocean Trip" or "The Walloping WIndow Blind"

  • Does anyone know the name of this poem that they sing?

Also, I don't remember why this actress suddenly went nuts and took over the show as a pirate, it's been so long since I've seen this ep.

  • Would you happen to have the clip where Glenda reveals her "true" self and captures Kermit? I've read about this episode a while back and intrigued by the whole plot...oh, and would you happen to have the cold opening with her and Pops?

  • Although I do wish they'd done all the verses, thre are like 10 of them :P

  • Ooh I love this poem! And the muppets! And now they are together, hurrah!
