can u help me out? in 2003 i remember playing a pc game ( i thought it was called warbirds 2) and you cold fly bombers, fighters, and even in tanks.. you could intercept bombers and torpedo ships and stuff and it was so much fun but i cant remember the name

I got the 2.01 version of Warbirds with my first joystick purchase back in 97. The graphics were not too good, but that didn't really matter, did it? ;)

My personal favorite is the F4U-4 Corsair. Good combination of speed, maneuverability, and weapons. Plus it can land easily on a carrier. Not that I never decorated the fantail with my guts. Nice landing!

I remember a game called hellcats in the 6th grade, the graphics were ALOT worst than this one. I wanna play it sooooooooo bad, can;t find it though.

@hmmsmellslikefish ...i know the feeling! There are so many good old games that i used to play or always wanted but never found or got around to getting, n now i cant find them either.  OR, their game engines are so antiquated that they wont run on virtually any newer PCs/video cards/processors. I DO have a few older systems around, but really no room to set them up as working computers. Oh well!

@clhoyt1003 I found it! It's called "Hellcats Over The Pacific" There's only one vid on youtube. I found out this game uses the same game engine as Hellcats. But yeah, Hellcats is older. Damn I miss it!

@hmmsmellslikefish ...nice! There are some internet sites out there that sell older games as downloads if u pay like a monthly membership or something. And it usually isnt too much n gives u access to all the games they have (i think?). i dont remember the sites now, but i didnt consider joining for some of teh older classics.

@SVPrelude ...Ur welcome. :-) btw, I STILL have many older games/mods that beat the crap out of newer games/sims, gameplay-wise... even tho their graphics might be a little lacking. But I'd rather play a average-looking game with above avg gameplay, than a beautiful game with little or no gameplay quality. ;-)

I play IL2 Sturmovik 1946. It is real flight dynamics. Those Hellcats are a bitch to fly. I usually stick with the SBD's. They are slower, but allot more stable. I end up in an out of contro spin in the Hellcats. I over correct too much. I use the TrackIR for IL2. Does this game support that?

Hey, outfctrl...I tried Il-2 1946, my joystick wasn't working right, so I uninstalled it, then someone told me there was a patch or something that fixed that issue. But i'vebeen too lazy to put it back in a try again. :-\ I hear ya on out of control planes. I've run into a few of those in FS2004. The planes in Warbirds are pretty stable. And it's an older game, so I don't know if Track IR works with it or not, but I kinda doubt it. Thanks for the comment...and happy hunting!

Hey, MasacruRo. Thanks for the tip on il-2. I have seen vids of that game, & it def looks awesome. But u don't mean the game itself is free, do u? I know they do that with some games, but never heard they did that with Sturmovik. And I think that probably is Glen Miller music. Been so long since I made the vid I forget exactly, tho.

btw, u very proficient at english considering u are from Romania. Most of my fellow Americans dont write/speak it as well as u apparently do! :-) Cheers!
