the vest it's self realy isn't heavy . when you fill it up with gear then ya of course it does . I play both German and GI .

I love this vest . My next door neighbor say's he was in the 2nd Rangers and wore his through the whole damn war . he has the pictures to prove it People also say it's hot Think about everything you are wearing underneath it ! I'v used mine at least 8 times now and I love it I also have a vest that only carreis grenades I only use it for my Marine impretion though .

I dont think you could call it reenacting couse I'm not in a Marine unit . It's just me . Same for the GI, but I am part of a german unit . When I'm a Marine it's useually for static display's and thing's like that . Hard to reenact when there are no jap unit's around ! But WWII Mrines you dont see to many of so one day I thought I'd put a set togather , And Being in the Marines it's part of my history .

I'm currently working on an Infantry Impression myself ... I have one helluva way to go though. Basically I've got the necessary amount of webbing and then I've got HBT's on the way and an M-1C.

the 29th. and 1st. infantry division wore wool unifroms. the 4th. infantry and 2nd. rangers wore the HBT uniforms.

every infantryman in ww2 was issued with wools, and hbts. you need the wools, they wore them throughout the war even into germany. most GI's had wools under their hbts to protect them. so wear the wool uniform and then put the hbt uniform over your wools (thats why they are oversized, so buy a size up)...hope this helps..

I suggest you just buy an original m1943 jacket as well as original wools. For the most part you'll pay half the price plus the monetary and the awe value will only grow. Just Ebay it or try militaryitems,com.

Yes, thanks for the correction of the spelling of Point Du Hoc. When I meant dress up, I meant that I'm going to dress up like one of those Resident Evil characters and I still haven't figured it out yet. Also, No, conventions are usually gatherings of people who like certain things-put it that way. If you never been to an convention, you're probably going to enjoy it if you go experience it first hand just like I did two months ago. Thanks.
