  • So inadvertently Neil Diamond had a good song

  • Comment removed

  • For real tho..the pops and crackles from records are the best sound ever. Miss the old days...and Bob Marley never wrote, re-recorded, or had anything to do with Red Red Wine...Just because its older and has a reggae sound..doesnt mean it was bob marley...just sayin.

  • FUK YEAH MARLEY, ROCK ON FOREVER! RIP ROBERT THE RASTAMAN!!! FUCK YOU UB40 AND NEIL DIAMOND MARLEY FUCKN WROTE THIS SHIT, AND THREW DOWN ON THIS TRACK!!

  • I have sworn with time I was wrong with time it makes me forget

  • This is It! the real version we all remember. I am swoorn with time goes to my head Red!

  • crap lol

  • *****

  • (looks like a) sweet turntable! How much and what model is it?

  • @Nza420 looks like technics to me dno which model though

  • @ganjastep Nah, It's a Sansuii SR222 MkII purchased in 1978. i have 2 other TT - a Thorens TD 125 MkII and Rega Planner 3 but they are in another listening room:)

  • anyone knows the chords of this version?

    are "A D G Em"?

  • There is no best version! Just the version YOU like the best! Either way, great song!

  • I can't believe Diamond wrote this. I think I'm going mad.

  • Neil Diamond's version is the best sorry.

  • @crb2011 Ha ha! Hilarious!

  • @crb2011 maybe it's because I knew their version first but UB40 is definitely the best one for me!

  • Reminds me of Sunday dinner, Rice & Peas & so on. Loved Neil Diamonds version as it conveys the hurt & the pain more effectively. Tony Tribe's version dances the pain away but the sentiment is still there. Yard Style!!

  • thank you sooo much.

  • not the original ,but definately the best.

  • this is a good version. ska version but ub40 still got this song on lock.

  • but you can hear the heartbreak in neil diamond's version. tony tribe and ub40 make it sound way too happy for what the song's about. not being able to escape the past...

  • @travelingwilbury6 in the song he's trying to forget bout the past and be happy. maybe that's why the upbeat. plus you cant dance to neil diamonds version.

  • I do like this cover better than Neil's original....sorry Neil :(

  • @virgojaempress EVERYTHING SOUNDS BETTER IN REGGAE!!!

  • I miss the way records sounded.

  • This to me is the best version, better than Neil Diamond's original, sorry Neil

  • Wow, that must be worth a small fortune. I refuse to believe the cover is better than this .

  • @NWNisFUN this IS a cover dude haha

  • skinhead don't fear!

  • i love the static on this 45 lol

  • back in the day memories.

  • Tony tribe verision>UB40 version

    thanks for the post (:

  • Really great, and I love that it has the true reggae-rock steady beat(like a of the tunes on the soundtrack of The Harder They Come). Traditional reggae beats the hell out of all that ego-rapping dancehall stuff!

  • wd40 what

  • @greaserleo you mean what comes after wd40? i don't know but funnily enough there is a band called ub40 (named after a benefits form in the very early 80's) who did a cover of this

  • @fuckamericanidiot i use wd40 all the time, but Ub40 I have no use for. This version however shall never run out of use.

  • @greaserleo ahh come on the first album is good, red red wine is shit by them i do agree

  • @fuckamericanidiot what's up with ur name? shouldnt it be fuckukidiot? that sounds better plus uk is full of ugly motheruckers. lol just messing with u but there is a lot of ugly fucks there.

  • the bestestest version. i love em all, but this is da shiz

  • i wish something could make me forget....

  • i read that all the versions are based on a salvation army song. thank you ppl. great song. your message isnt lost.

  • Best version EVER

  • This is great, thanks for posting I'd never heard this version before and I love it.

  • agreed this is the best version

  • way better than ub40, real ghetto music.

  • @CheebaRockHT Not? UB40 did a lot better

  • @CheebaRockHT Not really. This sounds terrible.Sounds like a drunk man singing.

  • Couldn't live without it.

  • This is a great version. Jimmy James and the Vagabonds also sing it superbly. UB40 also made a great version - it's such a good song to cover. Must have earned millions for Neil Diamond!!

  • peace wishes

    from germany

  • Wow I've never heard that before but it's awesome. Nice, thanks!

  • This was the version that inspired UB40's big hit version in the 1980s. Another 1960s rendition of this song that I like was by Jimmy James and the Vagabonds.

  • I also like the Jimmy James version, I also much prefer this to the UB40 version

  • Exellent choice to upload... Thanks :-)
