wow, now I have a better understanding of why the isralis are so hell bent to destroy the palestinians. When you step back and look at this it is ironic that this is one of the most holy places on earth, the land of God who preached love in all three abrahamic religions, but yet this is the most violent place on earth as well. Just think of the peace that could occure here if they all let go of their beliefs but yet they are all busy trying to step on the other in the name of God.
I don't accept the Torah nor the Bible as credible sources, and have doubts about the existence of Abraham as a person, and I don't Romanticize my bronze age ancestors (they were savages, as was everyone in that time), but there's sufficient claim in ancient history to prove that our ancestors were there and ruled over Israel (when not conquered by Babylonians or Romans), and there's even stronger claim in recent history than most nations have for their own territory.
We are friends, my religious belief is at best just shaky but whatever one believes Israel is the land of the Jewish people. The Arabs need to go "bronze age" myths or not. It is a fact that Jews have maintained a continuous presence in the land of Israel for in excess of 3500 years most Israelis can tell you that each hill has a story. I can't explain in words what it is like. I feel connected to that little tiny strip of land. I wish you a wonderful day friend.
@FeelingWreckless My concern is that when we start making claims on religious grounds, we not only distract from the clearly legitimate secular claims and prevent people from taking them seriously, but we also put ourselves in no better position than any other religion making claims based on divine promises and mythic events. I also disagree that "The Arabs" need to go, I don't see the problem as "Arabs" I see it as ideology and religion. There are Arabs in the IDF, after all, who love Israel.
Thats just my politics I'm on what would be considered the "extreme" right when it comes to Israeli politics and as contradictory as it sounds I'm not in anyway religious. Yes the problem is religious but its more the Arabs than Israelis most Israelis want peace whilst the Arabs just want Israelis and Israel in pieces. The penny just dropped I didn't know you are Jewish btw. Yes I agree there'sso much evidence other than a book which proves our ownership and right to the land
@FeelingWreckless I can honestly name a few Arabs I'd rather live nextdoor to than most people though, take Nessrriinn for example, she's a former Muslim who speaks out with great passion, she's also an Arab and an Atheist. I think it's a bit of a mistake to identify the enemy as "Arabs", Arabs vary, some are Christian and some are Jewish, and a growing number are secular, and pretty much everyone in that culture is held hostage whether they agree with it or not, especially women.
God Bless you Brother!
