  • Lucinda sings with heart-felt emotions. Ya gotta buy her DVD "live from Austin Texas". Those cats make those guitars (and other string instuments) sing! It is a rockin performance. The cops came a knockin' during "Joy" but I couldn't hear them and the song had to end.

p.s. $400 ticket for distubing the peace - still play it loud

I have only been listening to you for a couple of yrears now and I love what I hear. Much love and peace to you. tina

  • Someday....I will by God get to see a performance by this great woman, if it is in me to do so.

  • Wow!

  • A great poet!!!

  • This song by this artist is up there with the best of them.

  • Bravo, Bravo, Bravo, standing clapping.

  • One of the greatest turn ons was when a friend turned me on to Lucinda Williams.

    Oh man is she great.

  • @TheJohnny6string I so agree with you. a coworker a few years ago mentioned goint to see her, I was like who the Hell is LW. he was like dude your deprived, I was so deprived i thought to myself standing there listening to her music cant remember how long ago now but she was in Raleigh, at that club near the Longbranch.

  • Great performance!

  • thank you Terry McCaleb & Harry Bosch .....you guys were right she is awsome!

  • @beansNkimchee They were right weren't they?! I'm reading The Narrows just now which is why I listened to this song!

  • Lucinda is Awesome...she is starting her tour on the West Coast next week. West pals go and see her. You will not be disappointed! This song is slow but she can ROCK.

  • I keep coming back to this song every once in a while. Like wine, it even improves with time.

  • Best song ever written. Right to the heart! Tank you Licinda1

  • She has an amazing voice. Her live vocals are better than the studio.

  • Tragicley Beautiful...I keep listening to this song over and over ...her voice is so raw and it draws me into this song:)

  • super talent... lucinda is just amasing... and i love how the bassplayer creates the whole feel...

  • This is simply stunning.I've been listening to her for 20 years and keep thinking that next year is Lucinda's year, everyone will get it.She's a treasure.

  • Sublime !

  • These beautifully lived American songs make me feel very proud to be an American in knowing we have a national treasure in our Lucinda Williams.

    I Luvs Lu!

  • I remember the 1st time I saw Lucinda. She was coming out of Emma Joes a little hole in the wall next to Antones on the main drag in Austin, Texas early 1980's. She had a cotton sundress on, a beat up straw cowgirl hat & barefeet with her guitar across her back. My best friend & I used to drink pitchers of Shiner Bock & listen to her croon in that smokey tiny dive. A couple times I got lucky & she heard me singing harmony & waved me up. :) Love ya Lou & RIP to all our friends who are gone.

  • Morning Planet Earth! Don't take me to your leader cause I'd just embarrass the both of us. Be careful out there today and have fun!

  • Lucinda, you make my socks roll up & down

  • Beau is tight. I first heard of her while watching the Ken Burn's documentary on the Blues. Thanks for posting this.

  • Wow. This song is so well balanced. Could not have been better in any way.

  • This line-up kicks complete ass. Doug Pettibone's delicate guitar interplay with Lucinda's expression strums upon the heart strings of the soul.

  • awesome song! awesome video

  • she's amazing! fantastic video!

    thank you.

  • Thanks, Roses.

  • oh yes this is amazing ,,,100***

    many hugs roses xxxbabsie love

  • is this concert on cd?

  • lyrics are so beautifully tragic!

  • I am the 300 pound biker up front at her concerts bawling my eyes out.

  • When was this? She looks so much more tired lately.

  • If you'd ever gone on tour, you'd understand. The road tends to age you fast---let alone doing it for 25+ years. I'm not dissing you, just trying to give you some idea as to why Lucinda may look "tired".

  • Is that morlix on guitar?

  • @paoyu2 That's Doug Pettibone.

  • Ouch that's gotta hurt Laurelfan1

  • My ex was actually "taught" to suppress her emotions. That's why she's my ex. She said she felt no pain and could not relate to others because she didn't know what they felt. When she broke up w/ me, she looked me dead in in the eye and cruelly replied to my tears and heartache--"get over it---You'll live".

  • Beautiful.

  • That's my father's cousin playing the drums.

    Fuck yeahhh

  • Great drum sound!!

  • so he's your... second cousin?

  • Lu has always been a favorite. What a great live recording. Brilliant songwriter

  • if you disregard your emotions i guess you can live without tears

  • beautiful

  • great

  • very nice, careful performance. sounds as good as the recorded version, which is something i appreciate. i never like it when a band goes ventures off the map during a live performance. very, very nice!

  • I love Lucinda she takes time at the end of most of her shows to sign autographs for her fans (I met her and got my pic taken with her a couple times) ... she appreciates us all.... I've seen her 5 times in concert and every time it was GREAT!!!!!

  • Been there, Done that for 6 years.. thank god a biker friend of mine got me out...Good true song.

  • As long as I live we'll always have a world with tears...

  • amazing song amazing voice.. she is totally awesome

tells it the way it really is

  • Great performance of this song

  • amazing live singing...almost sounds better than the studio version

  • I just heard this, Lucinda Williams has a beautiful voice and this song is great. I will be listening to much more of her. Thank you for this posting.

  • Yikes - sounds like from the commentors that no one meant to express sad emotions, Isn't that what Lucinda does? Doesn't she touch us all with her stories?

  • great song...great poem...great voice....amazing, I am sold!!!

  • She rocks!! One of the best singer/songwriter ever. It is really a shame that she is not so wellknown in Europe. Music that touch your soul.

  • First time I heard of Lucinda Williams was in a book by Michael Conelly, and now I am saved...

  • me too..great writer and lucinda is now one of my favourite female recording artists

  • Take it you never been there. No comment..End of story

  • Love this song, Pretty sad when I can relate to every verus of this song and had to leave state to survive. You rock GF

  • What a stupid, self-involved comment. Nobody wants to hear about your sad choices. Choices, idiot.

  • Choices. Just like you made a choice to leave a nasty and insulting comment....that says enough right there.

  • LW you bring this grown man to tears...every time

  • There's a reason Time magazine called her the most innovative songwriter of our time.

    She's simply brilliant.

  • Lucinda is a true artist..

you should educate yourself before stating your ignorance online...then maybe the world would be a better place.

  • You just named 9 rock/pop acts. Lucinda Williams is country act and a very good one. Why would you even try to compare her to Frank Zappa??

  • Comment removed

  • i said no such thing, so u better back off cus i dont deal with shit from people that are haters. so what, u call me fat, im used to it, and u are just a person on this earth that has no other thing to do but insult people that do nothing but speak their minds.

  • she is so great. shes notment to be compaired to the rockers of the 60s and 70s, shes ment to stay in a class of her own. so dont go leaving hate shit about her everywhere cus shes better than David Byrne, Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix. what she writs is nothing but her own creation.

  • love this, brings me in mind of eva cassidy, and that is a tribute...feel me?

  • The sexiest woman I know with a country guitar......

    I enjoy her music.

  • The female Blaze Foley or Townes Van Zandt. This is the highest compliment I could pay to any poet of her stature.

  • I'm a hige fan of Luconda's and especially her 'WORLD WITHOUT TEARS' song. Gut wrentching. Also love her and Emmylou Harris together.

  • Happy Birthday Lucinda Williams (1/26)!!!

  • i saw lucinda play dallas in 07, and ft. worth, caravan of dreams, many years ago, both times she put on an incredible show, she is a classic slice of americana

  • Luce, you're my hero.

  • just saw her on a rerun of Austin City Limits. I am never critical about musucians playn but she was terriable out of time, tone , key and just did not sing . Her band did the best they could but she was BAD.

  • I saw that too....I must confess I did not know who she was...my bad! but I kept watching ACL our of curiosity, wondering how in the world this "bad performer" was on it?

little I know, this is a Three-time Grammy award singer...she is talented, hope she is better now. I loved the songs though!!

  • colrick - rumor is that she has a drinking/drug problem so its kind of a crapshoot as to how she will be on any given night - brilliant or bad.

  • I have heard the same thing...I think when she's "on" she;s outstanding but, when she's not...she is terrible.

  • Added to my "Best of" playlist. Love her especially when she plays with Doug Petibone and the boys. His guitar playing and back up is soooo smooth.

  • I'm not a big fan of hers but this is truly lovely. She looks ... clean

  • i have dougs and lucindas atographs, i love them together, i went to a concert and i was sooo awsome!!

  • I don't think Luce has a clue how awesome she is.

    Beautiful in every way.

  • lucinda williams surely displays a soft soul jazz sound to her vioce that is unmatched by any artist of today that sings jazz. i seen her back in 2005 in texas and along with her on stage presents, the group with its authentic style of guitar playing sounds great. great upload!!

  • My favorite songwriter...and beautiful.

    Doug is a great guitarist.

  • She is awesome,

  • sit back at a Lu concert and soak this one in. After it's over, you feel like Rumple Friggin Sliltskin coming out of some undescribable fog. Lu always takes you places you never new existed.

  • God damn, this is retarded. America's best song writer indeed.

  • LW RAWKS

  • She can rip your heart out and kiss your soul all at the same time.

  • i met her

andi also got to play her giutar

  • nice song

  • it's a lover's question, i'd like to know

  • yodaman19 so if the music is depressing go away and listen to something else and don't bother Lucindas fans

  • YodaMan19

It's a sad song yes, but we should face the fact that everything she's saying in this song is right.

  • very deep some songs do it thank you

  • Brilliant. Perfectly restrained. And, as ever, she surrounds herself with the best session players I cant name.

  • Doug Pettibone and Lucinda together make her best music to my ears...

  • HOW does soorow find a heart.....the lyrics strike a chord.

  • nice,if only...thanks Mandy 5*****

  • Terrific song, singing and playing!*****. Thanks to Mandy for sending it my way.

  • nice voices..laid back,

  • I have another question. How come everyone I run across lately, can't look me in the eye. I'm pretty sure you know what I'm talking about. Don't worry, I'm really not expecting an answer.

  • I know the answer. but I guess you do too, loveisgood246.

  • thanks for send mandy,

    the guitars are waaayy nice.

very nice song. Lucinda and her band are great! Thanks for post AlexKong, Thanks for share mandy.. glad you won a prize today!

  • The lyrics to this song are brilliant. What a songwriter

  • this song is really beautiful.. xoxo

  • la più grande... and more...

  • What an awesome musical combination... Lucinda and Doug... greatness, eloquence, touching authenticity. Playlist me please...

  • I really need to be done with this internet stuff. I can't take it anymore.

  • What did you mean? I kind of relate...but don't...but, think I know a start. Is it Lucinda's song? Or just an sense of over whelming info. Get back...I'm interested. Take care, Briar

  • I absolutely love this song. Lucinda Williams is so real and down to earth with her music. And her voice is beautiful. It isn't about pleasing anyone or trying to make a #1 hit for the charts. All her songs are #1s to me though!

  • I know what you're up to. I thought about it (you know what I'm talking about), but I decided to make this an exercise in discipline instead. More challenging.

  • OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! lucinda is the greatest female singer I have heard in a long time. you can feel the pain and sorrow in this song.
