I don't think you're a bad mom for teaching your son about rain and umbrellas :) He just got mad because his feet got a little damp. My middle child was terribly afraid of grass when he first found out about it and he cried until he got used to it. Now I can't keep him out of it :)

Its great that you are always around when he gets scared, your being 'the safety net' from his POV. and that's what makes a great mom. dont be too hard on yourself, being overprotected is a terrible way to raise your kids. and i think your doin a pretty damn good job of raising him. kudos to you!!

Bitch bitch bitch. The baby's FINE. The rain's not harming him, and neither is the fact that mom is filming him. Baby's cry all the time. This doesn't mean that whatever made them cry is going to traumatize them for the rest of their lives. How else do you learn that the rain isn't going to kill you? One piece of advice, Mom... start saving up for your son's future therapy now. You must have had some wildly disfuntional family history, and I feel very sorry for you.
But to pass it on to a little one who only wanted your comfort - yikes. His comprehension is limited at this age, and he clearly couldn't understand why he couldn't trust the MAIN one he should have been able to.

Babies cry when they are hungry,they cry when they are tired, when they dont get to touch things they want to touch.. they cry about everything - even when they laugh too hard and their stomach gets sore. Have you ever heard of infantile amnesia? This baby won't even remember this he is too young and when he sees the video he will probably just laugh at your over dramatic comments.

I study early childhood and these experiences are good for him not everything is all smiles sunshines and lollipops! I'm sure once they got inside he was all dry and didn't find this experience "traumatic"
