What makes the song appealing isn't just the message, it's the arrangement of the song. It didn't need to be changed. Honestly, I think this is why most people on this show don't touch Kelly's songs, because A) They're hard to sing B) They're formulated to be uniquely original to her, and thus always draw comparisons, and C) It's an awful idea to perform any song from a former Idol alum to judges who sat there and watched them become a star on that same stage. What a disappointment the guys were last night. They either lacked singing ability, charisma, proper song choice or had odd, unappealing arrangemement of the song. Casey was the best but even then I think it was only good relatively speaking. In another season he would have been considered average or adequate. Andrew disappointed me with song choice and arrangement but I'm sure he'll be much better in future shows.
