A one game wonder. After the world cup he had a short spell in spain, playing for Valencia before moving to Scotland to play for Rangers. Although his goal ratio was ok, his teamates thought he was a lazy striker with mediocre talent. If you look at his club career, the things that stands out is that from 1994 he career rapidly declines. To be considered a great player you need to have a great career, Solenko had one great game.

2) though he was only 24, after this match he never played for Russia again.
