Ruf is not a tuner, they are an registered as a regular car company and the ctr is not based on the cayman the frontstructure is from the 997 gt3 and the rest ist completly desinged and construkted by ruf around a steelpipe structure!!!!

If you had any clue about cars you would know that the CTR3 is made by RUF, a company that tunes Porsches, so nothing to do with the Carrera GT.

Also, the Carrera GT was out of production WELL over a year ago......

Well, the Ferrari's sound is unique - but I guess if you want the electric car, you could settle for playing a soundtrack like "Open Pipe Symphony" or one of those other soundtracks that features many Ferrari engine notes. Sure, it's not the same thing, but if you really want an electric Ferrari, I guess you have to make some compromises, right?

What the hell are you talking about. If it is built by them it is a real Porsche. I don't care for them but they are awesome cars. They are more of a luxury and that whats Porsche was going for. Huh and the price for them was more than the normally aspirated 911's. 911's were going for $70-80,000 in 95 when the last 928 were selling for 80-90,000USD

Alois Ruf has been doing just that for 30 years. The Cayman platform is superior to a C4/GT3 or Turbo. 300 HP it'll outrun (on a circuit)any of the "higher ups".

it is pronounced roof. to proove it call any ruf dealership or repair shop they pronounce it the right way. when i went to distributor in texas I felt like an idiot when i kept calling it ruf like rough and not roof.

the CTR3 is entirely built out of a 997, read the latest excellence magazine (which is co-owned by the porshe family) and it explains that the ctr3 is mearly a 911 with a streched midsection so that the ruf factory built 3.8tt swapped for the porshe factory built 3.8tt could be set in the midsection throw on some carrera gt style macpherson suspension, 335mm rear tires and ruf everything and you have a ctr3

Road and Track tested the CTR3 and the 700 hp best did 0-60 in 3.2 and it's price is $519,000. And it is more 911 than Cayman. Maybe I should sell my '04 911 GT3 and get this.... is it worth it or should i just wait and get the new GT2(0-60 3.0)???

Just FYI to all: The CTR3 is not based on the Cayman, though they may share some visual similarities.  It is almost wholly original RUF in design.
