From what I understand, nobody was injured during the flooding, is that accurate? It's a relief if true, it looked awful from the air.
The members of the Maine Army National Guard and all the other responders did a great job helping to limit the damage to the town as best they could, I'm hoping Fort Kent recovered quickly.
Hi all, I shot this video, and I was in the dark green Forest Service UH-1 helicopter with Governor Baldacci, and aide of his, and a member of the Maine Emergency Management Agency.
Sorry about how choppy the video was, but when I returned to Camp Keyes that night our editing software wouldn't recognize me as a legitimate user, so I had to do the barest of chopping before handing the video off.
some very amazing footage there, my family has tons of pics of this but no videos, if i was there id probably fill up my 8 gig SD card with videos, how was the helicopter ride was it scary, i bet its loud in the cabin b/c of the engine noise and did you have to wear those headset things.
Man some of this footage really hits it home...I was born here in Fort Kent ..but now live in LA...this is opposite of the fires we just had this past weekend in Pasadena....My Uncle who is a priest in northern maine told me the extent of the damage...heard the church took a huge hit too
Well I must say this is very disturbing for me to see. This is my hometown! I spoke to my family last night & so far they are safe, but not without problems. But this video definitely drives it home for me!
Jon what colored helicopter were you, there was like 2 I think. A white one,a red and white and I think the other was the government chopter? Do you have any other footage??
