  • 0:24 - 0:25 intresting how they made the pop-up headlights!

  • wow, i would have never expected features like liquid crystal display for on the speedometer to be on an 84 corvette

  • now i'd have bought one in a minute after that commercial , thats for sure :D

  • hahaha uve never seen! anything! like this before! thats awesome i love the 80's

  • Speedometer only goes to 85? Talk about the days of the national 55 mph speed limit. Not that this car can't do much faster though, as could most cars built back then with such speedos.

  • WOW a future car! I better run right out and get one before this never before AWESOME car goes away to all the used car lots around the world!!! I need to get the space suit and matching gloves. NEVER BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just bought an 84 and i love it I dont care what anyone says i got it cheap and it hauls ass! and corners like a dream! i dont wanna even drive my truck anymore this old beast is too much fun lol.

  • I remember the all new 84 Corvette when it arrived at the local Chevy dealer. I was awestruck at the amazing design. Later I saw this Super Bowl commercial and confirmed how much I wanted one all over again.

  • Despite some guys trashing the car on this post, the ad itself is fetured in a reel at the Museum of American Television and Radio in NYC. It was the first ad to use computer-generated graphics, those where the car is driving through that garage-type slalom. Primitive by today's std's, but the theme has a double entendre-"You've never seen anything like this before"--The new Corvette and the new computer graphics.

  • i love this car, the dash on it is cool and it feels like your in a fighter. on top of that it looks kick ass compared to other 80's cars IE: the 80's mustang

  • Awesome car... disgusting commercial!

  • "...with four never before speakers..."

    ?_?

  • @panda970 That's what it sounded like to me, too. But that can't be right...can it?

  • A local High School teacher had the first on in this area in late 1983. We used to help him push it. Early C4s were a nightmare

  • Early C4s In others opinion are Excellent. It all depends on how you feel about the car and how well you maintain it.

  • Yeah baby...u gotta love the 80's...............

  • holy fucking 80's batman!!!!!

its funny that they advertised their ghetto ass lcd dash displays

  • Corvettes are awesome

  • They are awesome but I just can't stand the bodystyle of corvettes they started making in 1984.I prefer the 70's and early 80's bodystyles.

  • I have one corvette c4 84, and I love the car and the commercial, never before !! hahaha

  • Man, just got a 90' vette. Rough around the edges, but the best car I even road in.

  • Love the 80's cheese in this ad, but wasn't the car supposed to have been released in 1983, but delays held it up

  • no corvette production was haulted in 1983 to get this car ready you cant really say it was cuz of delays theres always delays.

  • The Corvette is truly the greatest American Sports Car out there.

  • This was one of the most anticipated car of its era, it had been 1968 when the last new Corvette came out. There was about 20 pages in motor trend in mar or apr of 1983. Compared to an 82 corvette, it was a car from another planet. It's 26K sticker was hefty at the time also. The early C4

's had a lot of problems, took till about 88 to work them all out.

  • yes but even at that they were back then pretty much superb cars no?

  • never before!! lol so catchy! they make tthe car sound even more cool!

  • Dad bought one went it first came out when I was in highschool. Id take it out on Saurdays to "wash it" for a few hours and just blew around town. At the time is set a record for lat-g's of over 1G! Go over a rr track and it would catipult u through the roof. Amazing 4 its time though

  • this commercial makes the corvette look like the greatest thing ever

  • it is

  • The song is stuck in my head now!

  • me two

  • I bought one exacly like this one back in 84 and i kept it for 7 yrs its a great car but its full of electrical problem like the dashboard use to blink all the time even stay dark for hours, and the plexiglass roof after a few years it crack right in the middle,+ i had to rebuilt the transmision after 4 yrs it was a 4+3 borg & warner t10 with 3 speed overdrive,+ front left bearing snap at 75,000 miles + one headlight use to stay up all the time + the engine use to overheat for no apparent reason

  • I'll take my C5 any day lol. I love this commercial however!

  • Thanks for the ad! I'm Ausralian and I love GM. My brother's friend's brother has a C4 convertible, I'd like to see it for real.

  • I remember this ad from High School days. Previous Vette was $18,000 then price jumped with the C4 to $26,000 that was a lot of money in those days when a Porsche 928 was $38,000. The early C4s were later revealed to be the most problematic cars on the planet. The Space Invaders dash board was hated by all. These cars were so problem prone new I shudder to think what they are like now. Roger Smith made such a mess out of GM and this car is one of that era's symbols like the Edsel was for Ford.

  • Really atlantic965. Yes, the early C4's were a little bit of trouble, but the advanmetns they made easily overshadow slight problems. I drive an 89 Vette, so i get the way cool interior that u don't like, the Z51 Suspension, 6-speed tranny. God i love my car.

  • Bought one of these April 2004 and it's been marvelous. Hard ride, yes, but on a smooth winding road it's fantastic. 22mpg and sometimes more - not bad from such a big engine. I live in the damp UK and am so grateful that plastic body will never rust! Buy one now before they apppreciate - it's a classic-to-be.

  • X- fire on mine works great and it is fast

i have been going thru it for the past 6 years

    z-51 suspension all gone thru

new rack, all the front of motor

    700r4 just gone thru w/upgrades

this is my baby and at 70 mph on an off ramp

u feel the G's U strap it on for a ride like a fighter piolet

  • pilot

  • Can Anyone tell me how to get a copy of this ad. I am new to you tube and this would be sweet playing in the dvd player at car shows

  • My favorite Corvette model!

  • cross-fire injection system sucks

  • how many have you owned? stupid comments..that's what sucks

  • one 1982 Auto. you don't think so? lucky you. i have 81 stick carb and it runs like 180hp kitten. thanks

  • i have had a couple 82s and an 84, for that time the 84 corvette was a very advanced car with advanced suspension. The injection system does not suck, it's a TBI system like it has been used later for many years, the execution was poor but still had more HP & TQ than your 180HP L81..and gets better mileage too.

  • oh and 82 auto...there are no 82 manuals, all TH700R4 4spd lockup auto trans.

  • yeah, i know there are no sticks but ppl ask me all the time and it became my habit to say that. thanks for pointing out

  • dude, i didn't say C4s suck or tuned port injections suck. cross fire was infamouse. i must admit 82 had more TQ but i still love 81 stick with only 180hp. thanks for the info

  • Back in the day I thought that car and commercial was the shit. I damn near got a little chubby when I saw one at the park a couple days after seeing that ad.

I bet the people who designed this ad were fans of the movie Tron!

  • That commercial makes me want one

  • lol that was awesome. I love C4's

  • lol that was friggin awesome. i love C4's

  • You've never seen!

    anything!

    like this before!

    never before!

  • You can tell thats in the 80's LOL

  • possibly the worst Corvette model ever
