Schlitz, Hamm's , Carling Black Label were the beers of choice of my alchy immigrant grandparents. They would splurge on PBR now and then. Drank it "cool" because they would leave it in the garage.

I don't remember if Schlitz cam in those little bottles (Gramps used to knock thatcap off with his teeth), but it was my first beer.

This commercial aired during Super Bowl III in 1969. Later in game a more comical Schlitz commercial was aired, featuring a pre-"M*A*S*H" MaLean Stevenson.

Schlitz was the number 1 selling beer in America until corporate America trashed the formula in the seventies.

As for your comments about Obama. Here in Colorado the Democrats voted out a law that said you could not buy Alcohol on Sundays except for 3.2 Beer. Now we can buy alcohol on Sundays. It was the communist republican/fundimentalist christians who did everything in there power to stop them.
