@audacioushunk - Because he mixed up wiring to a few of the coils. That changed the firing order, which then caused the 'misfire' or backfiring that eventually blew the cats out.

My guess, Too much heat from the new ignition system, overheating the cats causing them to burn and blow out. The backfiring is the burning cat residue igniting the unburned fuel in the exhaust.

Thats just my guess.

It still has the stock injectors, all he did was put the low imp driver box in. When it goes in for the turbo kit, they were going to take the cats out since the downpipe/Y-pipe would replace those anyway. Then they'll put the 96lb injectors in and tune it for boost.

Yes. Jeff messed up some wiring (not on purpose, mostly because he's a moron), and the car ran for literally 20 seconds before we recorded it. What you see on the ground there, before the car starts, happened from that first start. I knew we had to get this on film since it was certainly a classic moment.
