  • he may have named it the world tree...... i don't know

  • such a good game. i wish i didnt finish it - it was too good.

  • the tree should be called Symphonia ....what do u think its about a tale... combine Sylvarant n Tethe'alla ..idk i just thinkin it would be possible

  • @Crack41NarutoxDBZ the tree's name is Yggrasil. :3

  • the new tree's name is "In America".

  • "Okay I got it! The Tree's name is -"

Dirk *Pops in*: "Dwarven vow number -"

    "Nooooo!!"

Martel: "The tree's name is Dwarven Vow."

  • HE NAMED IT SYMPHONIA!!! Cuz thats what the game is called :D

  • @Smoothiethesquirrel It's name is Yggdrassil. It's states in the first tales game, which takes place 4000 years after this.

  • this was one of the best rpgs I've ever played. awesome story!!!!

  • This trees name is...Yggdrasil.

  • @swfan09 LOL, NO! He name it GONZALES xD!!!! Go read the manga, chapter 19 page 8 >:(

  • @Doomed100 I hope you're joking....the trees name is indeed Yggdrasil. The name he chose in the manga is clearly a joke.

  • @swfan09 Pretty obvious that i was being sarcastic :P

  • Best game ever...

  • Lloyd's wings are way larger than Colette's. XD

  • wow

  • Lloyd is a sweetheart. ♥

  • mejor anime que no xD

pero bien esta lo que bien acaba pero... joder... alguien tiene un emulador de este juego? xD

  • u hated the game it was boring

  • @Phantomblade3000 and i finished it like 6 times cause i love it =P. And probably i will play it again sometime soon.

  • The new name of this tree is... Cliffhanger!

  • I think the tree was renamed... Bob...

Can you image worshipping a religion or tree called 'Bob'? The 'Great Tree of Bob' lol...

  • then they fucked up they own timeline, i just finished ToS2 once, its not worth playing it again.

  • The tree's name is never known... the player is supposed to name it... it's interactive in a way.

    Still, you gatta play tos2.

  • As i said before...

The name of the tree has been know since 1995, thats the year Tales of Phantasia was released.

ToS and ToP are part of the same timeline, that goes like this:

    ToS -> ToS2 -> ToP

ToP is like 1000 years after ToS, and in ToP the tree was there, with the name Yggdrasil. And what Casanuda said too, its an obvious reference to that mythological tree.

From Norse Mythology, Yggdrasil was the tree of life, wich kept the worlds united, such as Asgard, Midgard, Niflheim...

  • I see... I must play ToP then.

  • @Hikari3747

Why would you need to? The mythological tree Yggdrasil is obviously being referenced.

  • Well, about 5-6 monthes ago I stopped playing, so I'm a super nerd.

  • 7 monthes ago twas when I didn't. But now with 12 playthroughs, I know. But thanks for replying as if I didn't. Good +1 on thumbs.

  • The moment with Martel and Tabatha is so beautiful... <3

  • @TalesOfMyLife homo

  • i have it on gamecube completed it 4 times over and ive seen this cut screen 4 times

  • I have the gamecube version aswell, and I havent seen any cutscene, WTF is going on?!

  • Have you beaten it? If you have, you must have seen at least the final cutscene...

  • does this cutsceneappear in the gamecube version?

  • @NaraYasutora this IS the GC version =P

  • really cause i haven't seen any cutscene in the game and i'm in tethe'alla

  • @NaraYasutora lol, read the title "Ending Sequence" wich means that this is the Ending of the game =P

  • so this is ythe only anime cutscene in the game, o well at least the game is awesome thank you

  • There are a few other anime cutscenes, but this one is by far the longest, the others are usually 30 seconds max.

  • I wish I knew what he named the tree...

Maybe he named it Symphonia? Because the game's called Tales of Symphonia?

  • @IrritableGiraffe Read 2 or 3 comments below, it was said a lot of times, and we knew the name of it since the first Tales in 1995.

The name is Yggdrasill. Wich is the "Tree of Life" in the Norse Mythology.

  • @IrritableGiraffe from what I gather symphonia is related to the word harmony, which is what both mithos and lloyd are trying to do their own way. not sure it's intended that way, but it's one way I like to interpret the title

  • And he never tells us the name of the tree... but I betcha it's called Yggdrassil. After all, it is the World Tree.

  • i herd the echo to, but i never heard it on my game

  • am i the only one where at 2:58 martel says "I am the incarnationcarnation" ? it echoes :/

  • I'm aware of the timeline...

but, if the giant kharlan tree is the link that connects Sylvarant and Thete'Alla, why dind't the world split into two again during the events of Tales of Phantasia, before Mint restored it??

  • not all of the tales of series are connected the only thing that connects them are some aspects in the game such as the spirits and the kharlan tree of course but the story line of those aspects differs with each of the tales series. only tales of series that i know of that actually connects the a lot of the series together are the tales the world, vs and i think fandom as well. though i could be wrong...

  • TotW, ToVS and Fandom are escort titles, as such, they don't add anthing to the story and usually are for cameos and fan service. So no, those don't connect anything.

And Tales games are not connected by anything, with some exceptions (even though they use the same names for Summon Spirits and other stuff)

Tales of Symphonia -> Tales of Symphonia 2 -> Tales of Phantasia

Tales of Destiny -> Tales of Destiny 2

    no other is connected

  • Because the split of the world wasn´t a consecuence of the death of the Karlhan tree.

Mithos used the Eternal Sword to split the world in 2, to end the war between Sylvarant and Thete'Alla.

  • that's wrong... Mithos split the world because the war made the Giant Kharlan Tree wither away, so there was not enough mana for the whole world to exists.

This made 2 worlds, wich were fighting for each other's mana, hence, the ritual of regeneration of the world

  • Does Lloyd have wings? :O

  • goosebump ending, this game :) <3

  • I loved this game, but it's ending could have really been much better. >.o

  • how could it have been made better?

  • Well, Mithos as a boss was disappointingly easy unless fought on a harder mode. And as for the ending itself, it could have been explained more in the game how Tabatha was connected to Martel. All they ever said was that she was a failed vessel for her. I don't know, I might just be ranting, but I felt this was one of the weaker endings in the Tales series, it was pretty cliche xD;

  • Well.. Tabatha was a doll built to accept Martels soul, which failed, but as the wish of the eternal sword, it worked, and the other souls went into tabatha first, making martel be able to.

  • I loved the ending....

  • what ever did Lloyd name the giant tree?

  • we can only assume yggdrasil sorry i dont know how to spell that

  • I thought he named it Symphonia, since "Symphonia" wasn't menationed at all in the game

  • The Tree´s Name is Yggdrassil tree, for those who don´t know, having Martel and all those who fought to protect it as her guardian... Symphonia, I believe is the name of the game because Sylvarant and Tethe´alla rose as a new world (Aselia(?)) working armoniously, so they make something like a Symphony

  • Thankyou for the info!

  • nahh thank you for reading it...

  • not at all, but thats a good theory ;)

  • I think he named it symphonia tree because that's the name of the game

  • i'm not assuming. The tree name is Yggdrassil. That's how it is called in Phantasia, wich is around 1000 years ahead of symphonia in the Aselian timeline

  • It is Yggdrassil because it was taken from the Norse Mythology. Yggdrassil in Norse Mythology is the World Tree. Other things taken from Norse Mythology in ToS are: Niflheim, the world of the dead, and Asgard, home of the gods. There are other things but those were all I could pick out from my Greek Mythology class, which briefly talked about Norse Mythology in the back of our book. Its quiet interesting studying on this stuff and then learning my fav game is based in it a bit =]

  • *4000 ~.~

Get your facts straight. Phantasia is in 4200 of the Aserian calender, which comes after the dawn of the new world.

  • Actually, The game is about 5000 years ahead of Symphonia.

  • And her name is yggdrasyll, the bost of tales of symphonia 1

  • ...The New World Tree!!

    ...Um, right?

  • lol

he named it yggdrasil in honor of mithos (and possibly martel)

  • @Sonicthehedgehog1899 Yes, Tales of Phantasia is the distant sequel to Symphonia and in that game the tree is Yggdrassil, which is also the Norse World Tree, makes sense

  • @Sonicthehedgehog1899 It was Mithos.

  • @Sonicthehedgehog1899 I'm not sure since it was not the case in the manga ^^''

  • it is definitly the best game ever i plaed it 7 time and one times with cheats for all weapons and so on^^ i rally love the story

  • i second that notion maikpm93...and add to it

one of hte best games I've ever played....6 times...haha

  • try tales of the abyss. its good as this game.

  • one of the best games I`ve ever played

  • i second that statement....and add on to it...one of the best games i ever played...6 times haha

  • omg! you beated me xD, i played it just 5 times haha

  • OYA BTW since ur all wondering lloyd names the tree gonzalas it says so in the manga lol

  • no diffrent name tales games are linked they are all diffrent worlds at atleast diffrent continents

  • Ain't there two endings? One with Kratos and one with the guy in pink? (Can't remeber his name didn't like him that much) Great ending though!

  • lol the guy in pink is Zelos!

  • Wait hold on, thats not what he sid i my game?????? He never said so this tree is link that connects the wrorld???????Now I'm just confuzed????

  • Lloyd don't says the name here, but you know... Tales of Symphonia is a prequel of Tales of Phantasia. From there we know that the tree's name is Ygdrassil and that the name of the united worlds is Aselia

  • The trees name wasn't Yggdrasial.

    Why would it be?

    It's Symphonia.

(Its not like I know for sure but still. It doesn't sem like it could be.)

  • The name Symphonia has nothing to do with the tree. It's meant to symbolize the rising and falling of the two worlds' mana, drawing a resemblance to the rising and falling of a symphony.

The tree was named Yggdrasil after Mithos and Martel Yggdrasil, one of which governed the link between the two worlds, and regulated it's Mana, and the other of which was the incarnation of the tree it's self, and the link that reunited the world.

  • ... Symphonia 1 and 2 are Prequals to Phantasia. Llyod named the tree after Martel and mithos.

  • in phantasia the tree was name yggdrasil

  • I'm old greg.

  • I remember feeling disapointed Tabitha wasn't playable.

  • she would be fun to play as^^

  • And the trees name was none other than....Yggdrasial.

  • yep. coz thats the name of the tree in ToP!

  • Yep. Glad someone knows.

  • ^^ yup this is thousands of years before Phant LOL

  • Yup, and Martel is STILL the guardian which kind of makes me worry about what happens to to Radatosk being the guardian of the tree... o.0? going to go play 2 now....

  • is a really long story to what happened with Ratatosk xD, play 2, it has an interesting story
