  • This is an example, but what he says is a real life message. Many workers do not care or love their work place. They want Johnny to help them no matter if he has a physical disability or he is an older person. What matters is that Johnny has won a reputation to make better service to the customers.

  • I can't be a Johnny today because i don't have down syndrome :(

  • @criptonite0hour That was very ignorant. The message of the story is good service not whether you have down syndrome or not.

  • @criptonite0hour Once somebody in your family has down syndrome, you'll understand the ignorance of what you just said.

  • How can I download the video to my desktop

  • But what they didn't realize was after 6 months of printing all that paper and only making 5.50 an hour johnny went broke.....and now is homeless

  • do they have this in spansh?

  • The second person at Sprint must have seen this after I cancelled Sprint service. A bunch of thieves! I am happy to read their lose money quarter after quarter.

  • Great service doesn't come from "the heart" it comes up with your brain and how good you are at psychology to know what's going to make people give you their money.

  • a very touching story..simple yet it came from the heart..how i wish all the people in our worl is like johnny in deeds...=)

  • @zypherjohn You're right...this simple deed DID come from the heart because THAT is how people with Down syndrome think!!! I wish, too, that more people in our world were like Johnny! However, many people feel that individuals with Down syndrome are not important individuals and are not needed in today's society. That's why over 90% of mothers-to-be abort when they are given a Down syndrome prognosis!!!!!! ALARMING!!!!!

  • This is the most inspiring short movie that I ever watch. Terrific!!!!!

  • so inspiring..

  • I can't believe the money the corporation I work for wastes on tripe like this.

  • LOL I had to watch a movie about this guy. Never laughed so hard in my life.

  • they prefer to be called 'cart-technicians'

  • This video makes this Forrest Gump of baggers out like he's Jesus Christ. Well they are both as fictional;)

  • i seriously almost cried when i saw this. and 4 u people out there, this is a true story.

  • i bag, & it might not be the best job out there, but i like it. both my co-workers & customers are pretty nice, i get good hrs., there's always something to do, & it fits with my school schedule. i don't know if this story is true or not, but even though it does seem kinda cheesey, the pt. is to treat your customers with respect. it can be a frustrating job sometimes, but it's really not all that bad.

  • I work for Aramark and we've been fed this Johnny the Bagger story that obviously is made up! They just want us to give the little extra while we remain under compensated. It's emotional manipulation using the tale of a fictional mentally challenged character that's as made up as Corky from life goes on.

  • Paper is better than plastic, soon kroger is switching to paper and cloth only!!

  • actually, they're trying to do away with paper as well. I totally agree that plastic is no good, but those cloth bags hold a lot and are very sturdy. I work at Kroger, and we get less and less paper bags in every shipment, and more and more cloth bags.

  • What they should do is, do away with plastic and only have paper an dcloth, give paper unless u dont have cloth! liek whole foods.

  • For what it's worth, this IS a true story. I originally read this story in a book called, "Heart at Work." It's a compilation of true stories about finding one's purpose in their career. For all you cynics out there, the video is about making what you do count, and whether or not it improves the business's bottom line, you will go home at the end of the day knowing you did your work with integrity.

  • who cares if it's a true story or not. forget the money issue and focus on the fact that it's inspiration for people to make a difference and a story like this can come true

  • thats a great story now this is a person that changes the corrupt world

  • that's awesome. I have a friend Jeff, manager at a local Sprint store. someone in church showed it to him one day, and he was moved enough to show it to his employees. Later he was called to a management meeting in Michigan, and he was allowed to show the video there. Through His guidance this video reached the second highest person in Sprint. Now it's their motto. True story, just as I bet this is. You people are missing the point; even if it's a parable, it's still worthwhile, and useful.

  • How could anyone say anything negative about this? What a great story, even if it isn't true. Kindness should extend far beyond customer service and should be a general way of life. Making someone smile is a genuinely great feeling. Give it a try!

  • I think from reading some of the comments that some people are missing the point. Whether this is real, whether there is or isn't a Johnny, the message is real and is an example to us all. We get so jaded and complacent sometimes, and forget it's the little things that can go a long way to making a difference. Make every moment count.

  • What's so sad is that companies are pressuring and bullying their workers to bring in more money and they're spending $995 for a slide show put to music. How about giving a $100 bonus to 9 workers? 17 minutes of pictures set to music $995. And a lie...A true story AS TOLD by a liar.

  • Too long. could have been half the time.

I noticed they gave the viewer 10 seconds to read 8 words "Will you be a Johnny today?" This was rampant throughout the video. I think most viewers are fairly quick to average readers. 5:06 min is wayyy to long. they could have covered this message in less than 2 minutes.

  • It's not about "reading". It's time to think what those words mean and the impact a simple action or attitude can have on someone's life. Just watch the video again with your heart, not only with your eyes.

  • leowins, i live my life this way, so step back and think 2x or 3x before making false judgments about people, OK?

Go back and read what i wrote, but this time read my post with your brain. I work with my heart, but i use my brain as well.

  • If more people would take the time and notice they can make a difference, the world would be a better place.

  • And why I ask wouldn't the grocery store want the positive publicity? Since the idea in having these two PR gurus come speak to the workers was to drum up more business? If the story is true, is Johnny and his family getting any money of someone telling a story aobut him? He has downs syndrome but is able to work and make a difference, yet you never see or hear from Johnny, just about Johnny. I say we get to the truth of this fraud.

  • I just can't believe that I'm the only one who thinks this is a bag of crap? No pictures of Johnny. The PR firm has to tell the story and makes millions, yet no one has come forward in the US to say they know who Johnny is. When the truth comes out corporations who bought this crap and are paying millions to present it to their companies are gonna sue. There is no Johnny. If the grocery story wanted publicity they wouldn't be hiding now.

  • While I wish this were true I have trouble believing any supermarket chain would allow unmanaged messages to be given to their customers without the coordination of their marketing department, which means they'd tell him to stop or be fired. Sad perspective, and it would be great to find out there really is a Johnny, but it seems he's a parable to sell a $50 book.

  • Oh, my bad, it's a $995 video to sell to to customer service organizations (17 min), not just a $50 book.
