@Triggard But In the Donkey Kong Country instruction manual Diddy is refered to as Donkey Kongs "wannabe nephew." and he is called DK's Nephew in Games Such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Donkey Kong 64 and DK jungle climber. so I Think he is DK's Nephew.

And I read on wikipedia that diddy kong is donkey kong's nephew, but I disagree because I always read how their best friends. They look more like friends than uncle and nephew.
