The difference in graphics is little. It's mostly cosmetic, like the effects and such. The PS2 can only do so much --and cell shaded graphics use ALOT of processing power. Plus the game runs faster and smoother. Either way, they're good enough.

Look at the bottom where he triggers the scenes.

When you trigger it then you finish your oppenent like in the series. Its the same by Goku/Piccolo vs. Raditz. They get killed by the attack/scene you trigger.
