  • Thanks for posting this! I'm definitely inspired to go get that bag of oats that I bought for cookies over Christmastime and use them for good instead of evil!

  • @Swayzee68 Yum, I like oatmeal cookies! On the great spectrum from good to evil. I don't think they are very far down! haha. : )

  • Wonderful... absolutely wonderful... thank you

  • @kumasuke1 Thank-you. Health and Happiness to you. Brian.

  • i see convection in the pan

  • @pizzaisthebestfood Hmmm...I never thought of that...very keen observation!

PS: It's true, Pizza is the ultimate food IMO also. : )

  • soy milk isnt that good for you dude, you should look it up.

  • @informationwarfare I agree. Unless you want your nuts to shrivel...and i aint talkin' walnuts. (ok a bit crass). Too much estrogen in soy milk. Switch to almond milk if you're a guy. Ladies - soy = no problem.

  • @rexy5 yea that is exactly the reason! lab tests with rodents fed soy within three generations were sterile and forming cancers. id give soy a miss.

soy is also believed to be a cause of many food allergies, ALSO soy is most often GMO alongside corn, cottonseed and canola

  • I made this and loved it !!

    I think i'm becoming vegetarian too ))

  • @annaazatyan A few years back, I had a health crisis with high blood pressure. I had to re-think all my food habits again from scratch. This was one of my favorite breakfast foods because it is so simple, inexpensive and good for you. I'm always happy to hear that other people are turning vegetarian too. I wish you every success! and good health too. : ) Brian.

  • @LoveMattersMost You're the nicest person ever :D thanks so much !! I hope that you feel better now

  • great vid, do you have anymore healthy recipies?

  • @Dianna81 Thanks Dianna. : )

I'm always happy to find out other people are interested in healthy cooking too. I'm a vegetarian too, so I do have other videos, and all of them are some kind of vegetarian stir-fry. Usually with Beans or Tofu. If you are interested, go to my channel, and put in search word: "COOKING". And you should see about ten cooking videos. Nice to meet you, and good health to you! : ) Brian.

  • Really enjoyed your video thanks

  • @waynescloud Hey thanks! Don't forget to add whatever you like on top-raisins, bananas, brown sugar, walnuts, etc. This is just what I happened to have nearby. Good health to you! Brian.

  • Hi Brian. Your video was very helpful. Yesterday, the doctor said that my husband has borderline cholesterol level, so I made him some oatmeal this morning. I had some 9 grain cracked cereal so I added that. His favorite toppings were brown sugar, pumpkin seeds, cashew nuts, and dates. Thanks again and good job! Mina

  • @chefwannabe1 Hi Mina! Thanks so much for your nice comment! I started rethinking my eating four years ago, when I had really high blood pressure. That's when I realized it was the probably the processed food I was eating. So, I went back to basics. I really hope going back to basics will help you and your Husband too! Brian.

  • the english breakfast is actually the best food in the morning, necessary fats, protiens and vitamins protein etc. you just arent meant to sit on your arse after it :D

  • @ewann3 Thank-you for your wise advice at the end. I'll keep it in mind! haha : )

  • @LoveMattersMost every meal has its ups and downs but yours is pretty nutricious and delicious, beats oatmeal with golden syrup haha :) i researched making oats too by the way

  • @ewann3 I'm glad you are taking another step further into learning about the food you are eating and how it is made! It's amazing to me what we learn when we scratch beneath the surface of things. Many of the things we assumed were healthy, like certain prepared cereals-are loaded with salt and sugar! Even common breads! Of course, that is why they taste so good, right? : ) I had very high blood pressure 4 years ago. It forced me to re-examine everything I ate. Cheers, Brian.

  • Looks delicious, Brian. I think dried blueberries would be very good in this. I bought some recently, and really like them. Have you tried them yet? Cheryl

  • @grizzlyten Hi Cheryl. Oh Yes! dried bluberries are great in cereal or baked goods. They 're good for you too! I liked them so much, I bought some blueberry bushes last year. Haha. They're still tiny though. : ) Brian.

  • I'm going to make such a breakfast as soon as possible. I have a couple of questions. Are Quaker White Oats Quick Cooking suitable for this recipe? I have an hard time finding different oats here in Italy. Sunflower seeds are peeled, right? Thanks for sharing.

  • @egarrulo Ciao! Quaker Oats will work, but it's best to find the thicker "Rolled Oats." if you can. Yes, the sunflower seeds are peeled. But I have good news for you-the recipe is completely flexible! You can use any fruits you like, any sweetener you like, and any nuts or seeds you like. To be honest, to make the video, I just used what I already had in the kitchen. One combination that is popular in the US is rolled oats, almonds, walnuts, raisins, sliced bananas, milk and sugar. Enjoy! B.

  • i guess you lost some water-soluble vitamins by removing the water bro

  • that actually made me hungry....

  • @brknspacebar Well, I guess you like healthy, simple foods too! Thank-you, Brian.

  • That looks very tasty. I'll have to try that out! Although, I would never go processed/pastuerised milk. I only drink raw, organic milk. It just tastes so much better than any of that processed stuff and moreover, it's good for you, unlike the pastuerised stuff! Trust me, when you try raw milk, you'd never want to go back to pastuerised again!

  • @AbuAbdullahUK Thank-you for your good ideas regarding raw milk vs. pasteurized milk. I've never tried it. Now I am curious. Thanks. Brian.

  • @LoveMattersMost You're welcome. You won't be disappointed! Just make sure the milk is ORGANIC and that the farm you are buying from has established hygiene standards in the collection and bottling of milk and they also have pathogen count tests on their milk. They should give you this information if you ask. You can get a list of 'trusted' sources in the USA, from the website: realmilk(DOT)com

  • thanks for that, been trying to eat better but had no idea how to make something like this.

  • @prameszy Thanks for your comment. Yes, just give it a try and you will be amazed how easy and satisfying it is. And don't be afraid to use different fruits or nuts. For example, another good combination would be: Almonds, brown sugar and raisins. Good health to you! Brian.

  • @LoveMattersMost , will try! Will let you know how I get on

  • Yummmm......that looks so good, I think I can smell it....I'm on my way over for breakfast...LOL!! I've got to try it,

  • @jamicamecrazee Oh, thank-you for your kind words. : )

And please remember, there is no right or wrong way to add things to it! Basicly, just add your favorite nuts, seeds, fruits, sugar and milk, and you will love it! Brian.

  • Prunes, apricots, and whole grain oats. this will give you dierhea.

    other than that, good video.

  • @peter17dude Hmm...I have to disagree. I've eaten it many many times and I only feel great afterwards. But each to their own. Thanks for your comment.

  • Thanks for this, been looking for a decent recipe for oats in the morning, now all I have to do is wake up earlier, enough so I can prepare and eat this meal! Thanks again!

  • Thank you so much. I tried this, but changed some things just because I am allergic to nuts. I added strawberries and bananas. I gave me so much energy and I felt very good after. My morning exercise felt 30 times easier and I was still very energetic through out the day! Thank You!!!

    :)

  • @Metro9458 Hi! : )

Hey, thank you so much for telling me how it went for you. This email really made my day! I'm glad that I am helping people to live simple and healthy. I am so happy that your body felt more energized and healthy! Thank-you! Brian : )

  • thank u so much. i enjoyed this and will definitley try it out.

  • @kittaytittay Hi my friend.Thank-you for commenting on my Quick Nutritious Breakfast video. Please remember the recipe is completely flexible. Just don't boil the rolled oats for more than a minute or two. Otherwise it gets sticky. And you can add any toppings you like. Any kind of fruits, seeds or nuts. As well as any kind of sweeteners you like. Good Luck and Good Health. Brian.

  • i used to just add a tsp of peanut butter, a whole mushed banana to the oats every morning, but of course, after i tried your recipe, it can never beat yours. it tasted so good!

    Thank YOU!!

  • Hi Linda!

    Thank-You for your kind comment! : )

I always get a warm feeling when I get a comment like yours. I'm glad that people are getting some benefit from my videos!

Health and Happiness to you! Oh, and PS, check the "More Info" bar on the right for even more ideas. Basicly, anything that tastes good to you is the right way to prepare it! ; ) Brian.

  • Thank-you David!

And the best part is that there are so many different ways to serve rolled oats. There is no right or wrong. Just whatever you like best. I even added more possibilities in the Info Bar to the right. : ) Brian.

  • Thank you! You are awesome. I had oats and I had no idea what to do with them! :D

  • Oh you are very welcome! : )

Funny, I have a bowl of them in front of me as we are speaking. Good Luck, and Good health! Brian.

PS, the secret to me, is to not bowl them too long. If you do, they turn to paste and get sticky and yucky. Just bowl them the minimum like a minute and drain them, and see how you like that first. : )

  • Thanks for the video !!

  • You're very welcome! : )

Wishing you health and happiness. : )

    Brian.

  • awesome vid thanks

  • Hi benbie!

    Thanks for your nice comment!

    Brian.

  • ive eaten rolled oats for nearly the last two years almost every day . I add some butter Br. sugar, and a fruit of my choice.

  • Hi Sam!

Your choice of things to add on top sounds GREAT! I love the way it is so simple, and still you don't feel guilty, because it is so healthy!

  • Bannanas are great on there blackberries rasberries you name it ive tried it. And its so cheap!!! I like your apricots and raisins and the nuts sound like a good idea that ill have to try.

  • interesting pitch... very convincing...

    but I can't quit team bacon-and-eggs.

  • HaHa...well, I quite understand. I won't try to change you, if your life is working already for you! : ) Brian.

  • great video! I'm trying to go more healthy, I think I will try this :)

  • Oh, you will love it! I just had it again today. It's so easy, low fat, low salt, and really healthy. It's a great first recipe to start living healthy! Good Luck! -Brian.

  • Good one Brian! Just a suggestion, but how about saving the juice, instead of washing it down the drain, let it cool and then drink it (that way you would get all of the nutrition instead of some of it and would taste great). When I cook vegetables I save the juice and it's delicious!!

  • Hi gpello! : )

    Thanks for your excellent suggestion!

I once used a pressure cooker to cook garbanzo beans, and I was pouring off the liquid, and just by chance, as you suggested, I tasted it, and Wow! It was a great soup base! Which I started to save from then on... : ) -Brian.

  • thanks you very much......dis is really helpful.. thank you..

  • Hi surabhivasu! Thanks very much. I'm glad you found this helpful! : ) -Brian.

  • This was wonderful Brian! I really enjoyed seeing how you prepared the rolled oats and your ideas for things that can be added to them. I just started having rolled oats for breakfast about a month ago and have been delighted to discover how many variations one can make to what gets added in. I used to always have cereal for breakfast but would soon be hungry again, but after rolled oats I don't grow hungry again until lunch time =) My fav things to add in are dried fruit and banana ^^

  • I think I'm going to try some sunflower seeds with it next time - a great idea!

  • Hi Raven!

I'm so pleased you have already discovered eating healthy and natural foods so early on in life!

I'm sure you will agree that you feel good about taking such good care of your body when you eat this way! For more hints and ideas, check out the information box in the upper right corner. : )

  • You could climb Mount Everest with that breakfast in your belly! It looks delicious. :)

  • Oh! thank-you! hehe! : )

  • Nice video again, Brian. Very inspiring. :0)

  • Thank-You, Dracapalley!

That is my main goal-to set people thinking along new lines and new habits. What lines, is an individual matter, but the goal is better health for all. : )

  • Yes - this looks delicious to me!! Made me laugh when you put about it being easy to 'clean up after' 'specially for those people like me that find that a drag...hehe

We have porridge quite a lot, usually with just banana/maple syrup. These look nice.

Though today is Sunday and on Sunday we always have American style pancakes for breakfast....it's like my Ode to America...lol. But I sneak some banana or apple or blueberries in there, disguised so my son gets some fruit by default...lol. :)

  • Hi Sunbeam! Hehe! : )

Well, it's an honor to be remembered by pancakes! hehe. Yes, pancakes are wonderful too! And putting the blueberries inside sounds like a very special treat! Thank-you for watching and commenting! -Brian.

  • Oh, and "Easy to clean up". Hehe! See, I really do listen to people's comments! : ) hehe!

  • wow i grew up just across the bridge from you

    thanks for the tutorial

I was thinking of doing something similar with whole brown rice, making the rice the night before

i totally need to eat smarter

  • "Just over the Bridge"? Isn't that cool! : ) YouTube is proving to me what a really small World it really is!

Thanks for watching! and I am always so very happy when my silly little videos get people thinking about good health! I had to learn the hard way a few years back, and it got me re-thinking everything I ate and also the need for long daily exercise.

    Cheers Friend! -Brian : )

  • I just realized, I eat a lot of brown rice too! You may get some ideas from my "Eating Healthy Unprocessed Foods (6) Cooking With Soybeans. In it I make a tofu-brown rice stir-fry. It would be incredible made the day before, and eaten with, or poured over toast the next day! And you could even shred some cheese over that! Wow! Yummy! -Brian.
