  • LOL! I absolutely love Brian Cox, and even I have to admit this is amazing!

  • Hahhahahahha! Best thing ever made by humans...!

  • That cracked me up :D I kind of feel sad that I was born too late to grow up with people like Carl Sagan, and too early to grow up with Brian Cox. If I had, I may have actually payed attention and learned something in physics and math class :(

  • oh fuck just its a right dump

this place is clearly made of shit

  • 2:18 that is fucking immense. "black dwarf" lol "i know what your thinking, thats racist, but its not"

  • "On here, I'm actually just a little red dot. And the reason for that, is because I asked for my school photograph to be taken from the Hubble Telescope!"

    LMFAO!!!!

  • I don't know why people keep criticizing on Brian staring out into space all the time. I think it shows just how much he appreciates the night sky. Civilization thousands of years ago done the same thing---- so why can't he?

  • Proxima Centauri isn't visible with the naked eye! :P

  • the other one was funnier but this is still hillarious!!

  • 24 people don't think Proxima Centauri is their favourite star. Sad Times.

  • Fucking brilliant. Delivery is perfect... beautifully understated.

  • Funniest thing I've seen in ages, Brilliant!!!!

  • weak.

  • Man this is funny...but I bet most people watching this (including the maker of he video) actually does love physics.

  • @ADAM1989VST I second that, big respect to Brain too! :)

  • he never stops talking about the pale blue dot!

  • LMAO :D

I hope you keep these up, as an Astrophysicist/Astronomer , these have provided much amusement due to a variety of facts

  • Absoltuely HILARIOUS! I laughed from start to finish. Especially the bit about the hotel.

  • Waaaaaaaaaait a minute ... Proxima Centauri is too dim to be seen with the naked eye. I call foul!

  • @rogermwilcox Who said anything about seeing it from the naked eye?

By the way, making any more? I've been re-watching them on Eden, and it made me think of this again, thus, I have returned to see if you've made more. I'd say it's popular enough, but it's up to you.

  • Gawds, I HOPE I'm not made of very much sulfur dioxide! :-O

  • "This is a Black Dwarf. And i know what you're thinking: that's racist. But actually its not, its cosmic vocab"

  • "This place, where I'm staying, is clearly made of shit."

  • Oh my lord, I spat on the keyboard....

Dude, that's the best pisstake of my absolute hero that I've ever seen.

Like Coxy, I like physics because "it gives me something to do before I die..". I don't roflmao very often, but my sides are sore from laughing! ROTFFLMFAO!!

You should have your own BBC show, mate. I'd watch it every night.

    Cheers!

  • "I spy with my little eye, something beginning with P..... You've guessed it... Proxima Centauri !!!"

Anyone could've easily guessed that!!! Aaaah, that's my Brian!

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha you fookin' nailed these videos mate!

    keep em up :D

  • Very good indeed. Satire is not dead after all. Cox would seem more apt fronting a rock show as MC; he's hard to take seriously as a scientist, but he's pleasant enough.

    Cheers.

  • Brilliant!

  • Hilarious. Can't wait for the next one!

  • lol I'm just saying that we are so preoccupied with killing ourselves and are always finding more efficient ways to kill each other. Military technology is staggering and now administers death with deadly precision by remote control. What milestones have been met in the last 20 years? The space shuttle? great, but obsolete. The CERN super collider?

  • @centralscrutinizer66 The World Wide Web?

  • @mr0speaker The last 20 years. The webs been around a long time in one form or another, probably since the 60's. We wouldn't recognize it by todays standards.

  • Fantastic.

  • Wow, this guy isn't saying anything different than the multitudes of other Brian Green, Carl Sagan, Steven Hawkings or other "explore the universe" guys have said before, just a different delivery. It seems dummied down astrophysics is really beginning to repeat itself. Maybe we should think about inner space and the prospect of dying without ever knowing the ultimate answers may be the cards dealt. Humans in space are like goldfish in Death Valley. Earth is where humans began and will end.

  • @centralscrutinizer66 I take it you're an astrophysicist or a student of it?

  • wasn't really listening.... generally thinking it was Brian Cox, then heard it say ' like I've done a poo, and I'm digging it up like a cat'.... :|

  • what a rubbish!!! que mierda de parodia

  • This is hilarious, thanks.

  • hahahahahahaha

  • The maple kind? Yeah... whoops wrong video. Wonders of the Universe is outstanding with Brian Cox and Wonders of the solar System spoof is just brilliant. *+* *=* ^!^ This gets the Funny Physics Video Award!

  • This is hilarious, I totally lost it when he was like "we're all made of stuff like carbon and gold, but this place i'm staying at is clearly made of shit."

    Also ...... make more!!!!

  • Now that is funny. Love the bit about excuse for a helicopter ride.

  • Fabulous! Much love for Professor Cox!

  • haha if i ever have a bad day i watch this. pure genius. 'that is a black dwarf. i know what you're thinking, thats racist, but its not, its just cosmic vocab' haaaa.

  • HAHA this works

  • "I don't actually know - perhaps no-one will ever know - just how many angels can dance on the head of a pin" - [picture of pin viewed from a telescope on Mars, accompanied by BBC Concert Orchestra and thousand strong choir] - "but it's definitely less than one."

  • The BBC's chief gushologist is gobsmacked on our behalf about how incomprehensible even quite simple things can be made to appear if you don't actually think about them.

  • WEEKS ON END

  • I love Brian Cox even more now :)

  • HaHa Funny stuff. Great job. I reckon Brian himself would piss himself at this.

  • I know what you thinking "thats racist" but actually it's not ... That joke is gold

  • Sooo funny

  • one of the funniest things on youtube hahaha

  • Its FUCKIN' Brilliant !!!

  • learning is fun.

  • The racism joke was classic. x)

  • Not as good as your first one, but that one was brilliant. I do like the term 'cosmic vocab', though.

  • Mate this is just brilliant :D this totally made my day cheers buddy :)

  • That is class, you should be on tv!

  • I used to go to Happy Hour, now I just watch this.

  • This is hilarious!

  • ur grt!!!

  • wow.... love ur spoofs!!! ur grt!!

  • I think this deserves an airing on the BBC!

  • Loved it!!!! As good as the show itself! More, more...

  • ...you've guessed it, proxima centauri... got to be ma favourite star

  • Man, you are a FUCKING legend!

  • LOL! school photograph via the hubble space telescope...LMAO LOL! you are a genius! 1000 internets awarded!

  • @steelawake923

    HEHEHE!!! thts radical.!!

  • I love helicopters, i really love em.

  • And just, just work some shit out for me-self

  • Fuck hahaha yeah please do more, you're an absolute genius

  • MORE!!!!!!!!!!!! please

  • now that is a black dwarf... BRILLIANT

  • omg lol

  • Brian Cox knows fuck all about science and he keeps repeating the words "profound" and "fundamental" a lot. He also makes up numbers like a billion trillion trillion he never knows the exact figures. How he managed to get a PHD is a fucking wonder of the universe.

  • @HotRock2010 he works at CERN so shut up

  • @HotRock2010

A billion trillion trillion = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000: not made up, just approximate. He's only telling us the order of magnitude, not the exact figure because we don't really need to know the exact numbers, only roughly how big they are, to understand.

*PhD = Doctor of Philosophy - not PHD.

He does know a lot about science, otherwise he wouldn't be a professor - it's no mystery. He dumbs things down and uses analogies in order to explain better to viewers.

  • @MintAvhnDaoeAdjd well defended!

  • @HotRock2010 googleplex, profound

  • Ah Hahaha I bow my head in approval that was pretty damn good!

  • 'weeks on end', pissed myself at that and im not really sure why! Great vid, long live the greatest manc ever to walk the earth (brian cox)

  • this is fucking amazing!

  • legit funny

  • "Proxima Centauri got to be my favourite star" class pure class

and "I just love helicopters. I really love them." genius

  • Funny stuff! Well put together

  • I guessed pebble Xp

  • The voice over sounds like a combination of Stephen Merchant and Keith Lemon. Funny stuff.

  • 15 people are from Liverpool and don't have a degree.

  • This is Class.

  • "Now that is a black dwarf. Now I know what you're thinking, that's racist. But actually it's not, it's just cosmic bocap."

"And that's why I love physics so much. Cause it gives me something to do before we die.

I've come to this beach because there's nothing to do back at the hotel. But there's nothing to do here either. To be hones"t with you, it's just a good excuse to have a helicopter ride. I love helicopters. I really love them."

    Brilliant!

  • Love this. Really funny! :)

  • You actually sound a bit like him!!! Love this video so much hahaha

  • im going to jail for raping the like button
