That's not a 747-8 that's a 747-4 with a new livery. The actual 747-8's have a really huge second story that goes all the way to the middle of the plane. I'm looking for the actual 747-8 not just it's livery.

new 747 will pown the airbus a380 it can run reasonably on one engine for certain amount of time, and even though it is bigger than the a380 both enging are equiped with reverse thrust which makes it much safer in the event of a overspeed emergency landing.

Good looking model. But still don't unbderstand why PMDG decided to sell just a model. I could merge my pmdg 747-400 innerworkings with the new Posky 747-8 freeware (equally good looking).

@dwildkat if you do that, you will lose all animations and all VC functionality. PMDG is simply differently made. I'd never merge PMDG with anything else since compared to PMDG all other products outright suck.

I originally owned the PMDG 747-400, but after reading some posts I decided to upgrade the 747-800. My performance is much better. Sitting at JFK my FPS goes up to 45 FPS on the spot plane view. Virtual cockpit is between 18-24 FPS. Did a short flight between San Francisco and Oakland, and it peaked to 60 FPS on spot plane view.

This plane is definitely worth getting. Just to note, you need the 747-400 in order to get it though as it uses and replaces some of the model such as aircraft systems

Unlike many other produsers (Wilco, *h'uhum*) for example they take their time (a bit too long actually) to create a beautifull model with realistic dynamic properties. Lets take for examle Airbus A380 v2 by Wilco. I was offended and happy that i downloaded it. cause the interior was violenty.

The PMDG 747-400X on the other hand was well worth the money i spent. Gona BUY this expantion model, cause it IS the type of quality you recieve when you buy it!
