  • Was that Mattie Moss Clark at 4:41??

  • I think this is my favorite rendition of this song .

  • The piano is rocin that's why in middle of her singing she said " LORD JESUS" yo he soul solid played that & she soul solid sung it! but who but satin & his demons could come on this holy sanctified link and make such a disgusting comment about Michale Jackson or any1 after listing to Gods power thru Dr Albertina Walker in song the only concern should be looking at our selves, the part of the song she killed was saying GOD give me more grace & that's what you me & everyone needs yo

  • Whoever is playing the piano is killing it, Oh how I love old gospel music and songs.

  • Who would dislike this? 6 people have satan inside them

  • @meganjanisethomas Not to worry for the lord knows their hearts as well as our own

  • Lord! When he passed where was former lead singer Clyde Brown? I believe he's still alive somewhere in Cincinnati, Ohio. If ya'll remember James Cleveland & The Cleveland Singers way back when Odessa McCaskill and Roger Roberts were members (can't remember the pianist's name--sorry) were members. Where is Clyde today? *Note: He got his lead gig after JC walked into a church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio and says he "heard himself" singing and it was ... Clyde Lamar Moultrie aka professionaly as Brown

  • @riversfn

no comment gonna be as true or right as yours. thankya. xx

  • I have often wondered why Aretha Franklin did not attend his funeral. I know she loved him very much though.

  • ***Yes Aretha did love James Cleveland, but Aretha will not fly. She rarely appears on the west coast because of that. She had a bad experience on a flight once and vowed to never fly again. She did however release a statement on her lifelong friendhip with Rev. Cleveland.

  • In 1982 or '83 Aretha stop flying and was based in Detroit, Michigan. She has a phobia of flying therefore that is more than likely the reason why she was not in attendance.

  • What a blessing !!!!!

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!! She is definitely the Queen, this is a Classic

  • that piano is play its tail off. tina got through it. make me wanna jump

  • Paino was played by the great Mark W. Cox

  • he 'sho was playin that piano like there was no tomorrow!!!!!

  • Kirt Karr on the piano he's the minister of music at Bishop C.E Blake's church.

  • oh, ok. thanks

  • what's judith mcallister?

  • Dr Judith Mc allister is the president of our (COGIC) music department like Dr Mattie Moss Clark was.

  • Oh yes, I know that. But I've heard her say she served under Bishop Blake in LA. I was wondering in what capacity?

  • I believe sherved in the music or prasie and worship I know it was somewhere around that area. Bishop Blake has alot of talented peopl in his church. The Person playing the piano Kurtt Karr came from Blakes church Thank to James Cleveland.

  • @TheFirecogicuk i thought jason white is the minister of music!

  • Sorry, had to comment this again, I forgot something..Whoooooo was playin that piano?!

  • Probably the best performance of this song. I don't know how she kept it together, Bless God!

  • i was born in the year of this video i feel so special lol

  • SING TINA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could listen to her sing anyday all day...especially the part....a little more grace

  • I was so glad to see the clip

I'm from Tree of Life Rev Cleveland Produced the Voices of Watts Choir he wouls always come to watts and teach us throw books and make us sing until we cannot see. Because of my God Father Robert Henry and Rev Cleveland I am who I am today in the music industry James Jackson & Atlanta Praise

  • I enjoy contemporary gospel music, but ain't nothin like some good ol, down home traditional gospel and noone does it better than Albertina.

  • Her Heart was so heavy and she sang her heart out that day AMEN

  • Yes she did!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • now that sucks I really wanted to see this

  • I'm puzzled! Wanted to see what? The video is obviously posted...so what do you men? Just asking...noharm meant:)

  • This is a legend. I am so grateful for the road that Ms. Walker paved. I listen to this song everyday. I love it!!

  • u can tell her heart was heavy, but she sang that song, I "Got" another buildin!!

  • the Queen of gospel did dat....... I feel every word thatz coming out of her mouth.. Look @ dat raw emotion, the holy ghost was runnin thru her.......

  • Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Funeral Service from?

  • Albertina gon' repeat an ad-lib til HEAVEN gets the news! LOL! "I got another building....I got....another building.....I got another building" Now if you don't get the message after that, you are slow! LOL! WE ARE LIVING THIS LIFE TO LIVE AGAIN!!!!

  • 529068, thanks for all these postings. Now that gospel has gone worldwide, it helps gospel fans in other countries (as well as the "digital age" of young people in the U.S.) to be able to see where gospel music actually came from.

    These are the roots!

And yes, mrtyroneb, whoever is on that piano is killin'! (I wonder if it's Joey Jones?)

  • she was very heavy hearted when she sung that...that was hard for her because she was close to him...but the Lord really used her and the way she sings it from her heart and soul and her love of God that's why you feel it

  • I want to know who that is KILLING that piano!!!! My God!!!

  • All I have to say is THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!! AND ALBERTINA, SANG IT!!!!!!!!!! THAT WOMAN OF GOD MADE ME CRY, ESPECIALLY AT THE END WHEN SHE COULDN'T SANG ANYMORE. THE LORD WAS ALREADY MOVING HER SPIRIT BEFORE SHE SANG THAT SONG, BUT WHEN SHE STARTED SANGING, THE SPIRIT MOVED HER.

I thought she was going to shout at the end.

  • Oh, I'm sure she got her shout on! As she was going to her seat, the spirit(and the ushers..lol) are asisting her.

  • Sing it!

  • I have a question, do you have the part where the Caravans sang at the funeral?

  • Yes. My mother told me that he recorded his own eulogy.

  • No, Rev. E.V. Hill preached the eulogy...I'm gonna post it soon.

  • Thank you for posting this video. Mr. Cleveland was such an inspiration for gospel music. We were blessed to have him for as long as God allowed him to grace this earth.

Bless him and Bernie Mac, Luther and Issac Hayes.

  • Oh. I didn't know that. I look forward to seeing the video. Thanks

  • 529068,

Did Aretha Franklin pay tribute? Do you have it if she did?

  • Aretha did not attend.

  • Hey 529068 Do you know why Aretha Franklin didn't go to Rev. James Cleveland's wake and funeral? I learned he tought her how to play the piano and was good friends with her father the late Rev. C.L. Franklin.

  • I don't know for sure, but I do know that Aretha does not fly so that could be the reason. However she did release a statement paying tribute to Rev. Cleveland.

  • Thanks for filling me in. I wonder how did Aretha take it when she found out Rev. James Cleveland died. I learned they were close and they had like a brother and sister type of friendship.
