  • No that's not floaties, it's a bath sponge Susie is holding.

  • Excellent movie. Bette Davis is the most talented actress, in my opinion. Thank you so much for the posting, enjoyed the movie without a doubt.

  • first time i've seen it and i thought it would be a murder story.. but seems to me nanny was pressed a lot by joey... it was obviously an accident with susie... not her fault.. but joey blamed her ..nanny seemed to me not so bad

  • The great Bette Davis, omg how bland these actresses are today by comparison

  • @TheVaughan5 You said it. I am 40 yrs old and a lot of actresses cannot hold a candle to this old school bitch--lol. Definitely one of my favorites. I love me some Bette Davis.

  • cool ass movie, bettie davis rocks

  • This movie was ok to me. I was expecting more shock value based off many reviews I read. Oh well cant like them all.

  • I love the way she says "Susie STOP it!" So playfully and innocently, but you can still see the fear in her eyes.

  • Another fine upload - TY :)

  • It looked like Susie was wearing floaties on her arms in the bath scene.Poor Nanny, sobbing hysterically. She finally realizes what she could have done. She needs serious psychiatric help. Like I said, the movie was far better than the book.

  • @Sheri451 I wonder if they'll ever remake this movie. I used to think that might be a good idea, and make it more like the book, but I didn't like Bobbi in that at all.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 No I agree, they won't remake it.

  • what happend to THE NANNY

  • Susy is sooo cute!!!

  • That was really good.

  • ...poor little guy...

  • Yea I was totally Joey bashing at the begnning and not anymore. BUT I am not nanny bashing now because I really felt sorry for nanny at the end. Like she was ill and sad about it and couldn't help how she acted. ~sob~

  • @alli4540 I have to disagree, I think she COULD help it because she had the presence of mind to make sure no matter what happened, Joey was always blamed, never her, that she was a poor victim of his cruelty.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 She seems to have suffered from Munchausen Syndrome or some other factitious disorder. However I could be wrong.

  • Great old classic.. Thanks for sharing!!!....

  • I saw this at the movie theater when I was a child and it scared me to death -- especially the last ten minutes of it. The big screen made it so much creepier and my young age added to its impact, too, I'm sure. It's one of my favorite Bette Davis movies and I thouroughly enjoyed watching it once again. Thanks so much for posting it! I'm sure I will watch it again here on youtube.

  • Thank you for uploading!

  • At the v. end at the hospital, Joey says to his mom: "I'm sorry about nanny" and she says she knows all about what happened. However neither Joey nor Virgie mention Auntie Pen and/or her death. I found that rather odd.

One of my favorite films. I am VERY THANKFUL FOR THIS UPLOAD! CHEERS!!

  • @rem2267 I find it odd that Virgie never said something like 'I'm sorry I didn't believe you', he had been telling them for 2 years what happened and nobody listened, nobody believed him. Any time in a movie when somebody REALLY has a 'you told me so and I didn't listen' moment coming, it never happens, why is that?

  • @TheBookWorm1718 - Because life is totally fvcked up, and movies such as this reflect that. For instance... well, let me just go on record saying that anyone who is STILL Joey-bashing after seeing the movie in it's entirety - I feel sorry for you and for the people in your lives, whom I expect you treat like dirt, probably especially children. It's a sick world out there. I think EVERY child has at least one un-acknowledged "you told us so" incident in their lives that they must live with.

  • @rem2267 Indeeeed, I can understand earlier in the movie how people can think Joey's a brat, I'm sure I thought the same thing the first time I saw this movie, but when you find out that the nanny really is a killer, and you see that everybody is turned against Joey when he's telling the truth, how can you help but feel sorry for him? Didn't we all as kids have that nightmare of being the only witness to something important and nobody believed us?

  • Is anyone else kinda wigged-out at reading a certain comment here, as well as their loud screen name? Do you think their tin-foil budget might be kinda high?

  • I have another "Clue" question that I forgot earlier. Is it :

Nanny with the Steak-and-Kidney Pie in the Dining Room?

Fantastic movie!!!! Thanks HEAPS for uploading it. I've been wanting to see it again ever since I was in my teens. Yay!

  • 07regia "they start complicating the character and her motives"?? Huh? You don't make a lick of sense. You just wanted her to be a "straightforward psycho" and you think the film had less "impact" because she WASN'T??

No, then the film would have been just another lunatic piece of crap... This film is FAR more effective the way they did it --- with the first death a tragic accident.

  • It would've had more impact and made more sense if she'd just been a straightforward psycho who'd drowned the little girl deliberately and and had the same fixation toward the boy. I always like this one til they start complicating the character and her motives.

  • How did Joey get knocked out so fast? One moment he was safe, and the next he was helpless in Nanny's arms and ready to drown.

  • Thank-you for this movie. I enjoyed it.

  • "Applause!" Thanks for the upload! Great film and I love the part where Bette Davis keeps that guy's hand in a box .....

whoops that was Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte!! LOL jk!

The Nanny is a fine piece of Britcin (British Cinema)!

  • @aramanth LOL

  • I never get tired of this one. I hadn't seen this in a while and I was due. Thank you so much for posting bvseediermedia11!!

  • I had not seen this movie in such a long time. It was great. I need to re-watch Whatever Happened to Baby Jane next.

  • @jenng31 Bette Davis was a fine actress, and she really did play these troubled, tortured souls perfectly.

  • She took care of the family

  • @flyboyjq i remember when i was small when this movie was seen by me in the early 70 s this movie disturbed me very much , at that time the schools allowed teachers to hit us . with rulers, swatting, pintching etc. the bullying was out of control back then . this movie stayed with me to this very day . because of this technology i developed technologies and smart weapons . beyond firearms technologies . electronics is my specialy . that no one ever will ever allowed to harm me . i am safe now.

  • Excellent movie! Thanks for posting. She was a monster all right. Cool.

  • Poor nanny, such tragic tortured monster.

  • @PlusSizeAngel The monster part is right.
