Attach Alice pack Medium or Large to Alice frame

Am I missing something here? I have never been issued just a ruck sack with no frame, then had to buy a frame as a "comfort item". Every time I have ever seen a soldier with a ruck sack, it had a frame...

Free chicken: the old alice pack is much better for rucking than the new molle ruck. The plastic frames are pretty easy to break too.

Ditching the Alice pack and just going with the pack frame has been my choice.

I have affixed a blanket, tarp and a Molle pack to my pack frame. It's a great system that allows for additional gear to be tied on as necessary.

good video. I just got a medium alice pack and frame and i noticed you didnt cover how to attach the bottom part of the shoulder straps to the frame. I am lost bro, i just cant figure it out. please help! i would be very grateful, thank you

@SCUMDOG11 , Stick the bottom of the strap through the hole in the frame. Take the top part of the strap and run it through the loop and pull tight.. It's really simple.

I eliminated the problem of the quick disconnect coming apart or breaking by putting a double wrapped ti-rap around it and sinching it all down. I didn't think I'd need the quick disconnect feature for camping and hiking.

@MobiusInfinity117 No idea what you mean.. most Y harnesses attach to the pistol belt in the back and the 2 ammo pouches on the front of the pistol belt.

@MobiusInfinity117 , yes you can no they really don't get in the way of each other.. though the Y harness clips on the back of the pistol belt may rub into your back..

@MobiusInfinity117 Normally, a person would wear the ALICE suspenders before carrying the ALICE pack. My suggestion would be to adjust the suspenders so that the pistol belt is above the kidney pad while carrying the pack.

@ehnogi , Always looking for lighter stronger equipment. It's the military way. I think they are sacrificing stronger for lighter gear since they are packing heavier/carry more stuff. I think some National Guard/Reserve Units CONUS still get these oldies but I'm not sure.

How would you attack the us m40 gas mask to Alice pack

@thejoshinator08 , M40 Gas mask is attached to the left leg like a drop pouch the opening is facing forward and the mask is facing towards the opening so you would reach in and dawn the mask and hood secured as quickly as possible. I don't have a gas mask so I can't do a video on proper fit and all the in's and outs of them.

I have a meduim size alice pack without the frame -works ok without it, but the frame would help. I saw a large alice pack with the frame at a yard sale once. It was pretty torn&worn, so I didn't get it, even though it was just $1. If I knew that the large frame also fits the medium packs, I woulda got it just for the frame.

@OneWildSurvival Yeah you did look at your video from 7:13 - 7:19. 8 up like a soup sandwich. Next time pay attention to detail. If you stop the video at 7:19 you can clearly see the right shoulder strap is in fact a left shoulder strap. Hooah.

When I put my Medium ALICE pack on the new frame I just purchased, the pack seemed to be awfully small as compared to the frame, there is prolly 6"-8" of frame showing under the pack. Is this normal? It doesn't seem to fit well; is this just because the frame is supposed to actually be for the large pack?

Is a frame really necessary for a medium ALICE BACK PAK. I have one and I was thinking of getting a frame, but was wondering if it would make it too heavy to carry.
