This award just means congrats for your label marketing you well on the radio.

In recent years Radiohead and Kanye West had third AofY nominations and lost despite having immensely popular albums with critics. BTW would be a shocking 3rd nom winner. Adele is styllistically closer to what grammy voters salivate for and Foo Fighters have the longest career and most accomplishments to get awarded. Simply put the voters don't want the other three.

It's a competition between Adele, Gaga and Foo Fighters. Adele probably won't win it since she has so many nominations, and isn't American. This is Gaga's third (consecutive) nomination, and was more succesful that Foo Fighters were. I think it might go to Gaga, but it would be her only Grammy.

@SolyBeatFreak I expected Arcade Fire to win. This award always goes to the album that best combines critical acclaim and commercial success but more emphasis on acclaim. The next best acclaimed album was a sub-par rap album and a less than spectacular country pop album. This year only Adele and Foo Fighters have a chance. Once Gaga loses her fans will come on here crying and saying they won't ever watch the Grammys again but a year from now they'll be on these videos again.

@lobstery7 Exactly its the grammys there are no upsets when you just follow the patterns of how they award this prize. In recent years Radiohead and Kanye West had third AofY nominations and lost despite having immensely popular albums with critics. BTW would be a shocking 3rd nom winner. Adele is styllistically closer to what grammy voters salivate for and Foo Fighters have the longest career and most accomplishments to get awarded. Simply put the voters don't want the other three.

How can Bon Iver's album go #2 on the billboard charts and all these grammy viewers ask who he is or Arcade Fire go #1 and they ask who they are? The target audience here is for people who listen to the most heavily played radio artists. Thats why she had to be nominated. And as I said only two artists here had a chance. This is the grammys...no upsets.

It's a competition between Adele, Gaga and Foo Fighters. Adele probably won't win it since she has so many nominations, and isn't American. This is Gaga's third (consecutive) nomination, and was more succesful that Foo Fighters were. I think it might go to Gaga, but it would be her only Grammy.

And just because an album is about heartbreak, or love, sex and drugs, or just because you dont know them (which is quite ignorant of you to say that foo fighters arent gonna win just cause you dont know them) doesnt mean that those albums arent gonna win, And these are the grammys, so no one ever really knows who's gonna win.

Lady Gaga can't even claim to be the most popular. 2009 best selling album was Taylor Swifts, 2010 Susan Boyles, 2011 Adeles. Swift sells out every show and the latter two don't cry online like LG fans.

Lady Gaga has no chance of winning. They nominate massively popular artists to draw in the viewers but also at least one or two good artists to give this award to. They don't care about quality of music as long as at least one good album is nomiated (i.e. The Suburbs last year). Then when the crappy pop albums lose the people here cry and whine about gaga not winning while the fans of the winning album often don't care about the grammys because these awards mean nothing and they know it.
