AMAZED I AM !! He has such GREAT TALENT but more than that, you feel touched by the music he sings. YES.. I agree that HE is better than, I know a word for..?? But he is not so caught up in himself as most with this kind of success !! I mean lets be REAL the man has people follow him everywhere. These past five years have been about the best years of my life (having my marriage and kids and grd kids etc. of course was best). I am now 80 yrs old and have made up my mind to live to be 100 so I can see Clay celebrate his 25 years in Show Business. Because of Clay I had to go out and get a computer, get tickets to concerts, I have been to 9 and saw Spamalot 2 times. Can't wait for his next concert. Love him oodles!!!

In season 1 and season 2, there was only one line per contestant. There were over 24 million votes on those two lines and there was a difference of 130,000 votes between the two. There were a lot of jammed phone lines (my mother and I dialed for 2 hrs on our home and Cell numbers and neithe get through once for Clay. The phone lines all gave busy signals. Hence, from AI3 on, all contestants are given at least 2 phone lines when they get towards the end of the competition. In MY heart, Clay won.

Someone asked Marilyn Vos Savant of "Ask Marilyn" what she thought of the results and she said all they managed to do that night was to measure the slight difference in capacity,(about 1/2 of 1%), between the two lines.

An independent investigator also discovered that, due to a glitch in the phone system, a large number of incoming calls were mis-directed to a different receiver. Those calls were more than 73% for Clay.

There were millions of calls that did not go through at all that night.

I LOVE THIS GUY SO MUCH! AI has no chance of finding anyone better than him! (i still love the other contestants!) He's just got this thing about him! I first knew him when i heard his The Way (fell for the song in a second) then i searched him up and saw his performance on the AI5 Finale (that was cute!) that's when i got truly hooked on Clay himself! He's just so adorable! He's gotten chubby and his hair ain't spiky anymore but I STILL LOVE HIM! His voice comes straight from heaven, i swear!

Clay was on American Idol 2 in 2003. He did not win but came second to Ruben Studdard, still he has been more popular than the winner. IMHO, he has the best voice that came from AI, so far. I am European as well, and I also feel it's a pity he is not known on this continent. I hope that the English producer of his new album 'On My Way Here', which will be released in May, will introduce him to the British and European public.

But after watching the recorded performance a second time , he decided Reuben's performance was better and the big guy clinched the victory .
