he chooses to look you straight in the eye. no looking at the audiences' heads for this poor deluded soul, he has the power of belief to guide him through the dark corridors of performing live. i like that.
Shame he let this great talent go for 6 years. But Chicago is a great place to be if you have musical aspirations. Thelonius Monk jazz college is located there too I think.
Am I the only one that thinks this song sound a hell of a lot like the one played in the game Redneck Rampage; I mean its just an amazing similarity ~though not exact.
It is indeed... but have you heard the song I'm talking about?
I can't find it on youtube, but its the one with the whimpering singer (whose voice sounds quite a lot like the man's hand noises, while the piano tune sounds very similar as well). ~Its a coincidence.
I've seen several of these Depression amateurs with some odd talent, and that grim, haunted seriousness is the one thing they all have in common.
Despite their strange abilities, these were not particularly clever or intelligent people. They knew going in that this was going to be their only chance to make a mark in the world, and probably a lot of them knew that it wasn't likely to amount to anything,

The two greatest talents to ever come out of Chicago: Barack Obama and Cecil Dill, not necessrilly in that order.

I can imagine Cecil getting nervous around the ladies and the noise becoming unbearable...

LOL! Loved it.

You can sure tell Cecil's speech was scripted. Probably reading it off cards. Wonder whatever happened to him? Went into the pickle business?

And no-one else finds this clip scary. It's just the poor quality and the extreme straightness of his performance.
