@TheCaliCrusher LOL Sorry but no he wouldn't. He got the crap beaten out of him by a pretty much 1 armed guy in shower shoes. He started shit with Paul Orndorff. whose one arm was fucked up from nerve damage as he got out the shower and Orndorff beat the hell out of him with his good arm (and hurt his feet kicking him). He was a tough in the ring wrestler but not in reality, Jim Cornette who is his friend has even said he was a teddy bear outside the ring / business.
Vader was so strong and scary he did not even give a damn if he was beating a jobber or a fellow main eventer. Vader was a force of nature in the ring
Vader and Bigelow both in real life looked like big fat guys but in the ring they were more agile and versatile than some of the Cruiserweights. Great athleticism, larger than life persona, and should've gone on to more success in WWE. But thanks to Shawn Michaels (aka Pat Patterson's boy toy) we missed out on a more wrestling greatness.
I remember watching him as a kid and being terrified. Not just because he was dominating but because of that elephant mask. But now that I'm older I think it was pretty badass.
@hicapacity amen brother was always one my favs I will admit I was. Sting mark for their matches but I was 10 and thought facepaint was cool lol but always rooted for vader against the nature dud and later against shamrocks maxi ass. Wwe could've done so much with him and foley on the roster together what a waste
His punches and clubs in the corner looked so real for a reason. Read mick foleys first book and in it he atests that vader took no chances he just full on pounded the hell out of people. Punched foley so hard that it dislocated his jaw
By and large the greatest super Heavyweight of all time...PERIOD. I defy anyone to find a 400 pounder who did more in and for the business then Vader, in the states and in Japan.
@ImportKnight13 And that's the sad part. These younger wrestling fans have no idea how good Big Men where in the 90s and early 2000s. When wrestling was actually entertaining because of not only the quality in the ring, but the characters as well. Yes, Vader was an awesome athlete, but that was only part of what made him a legend. His gimmick and character was legitimately scary. You watched him maul people and legitimately felt he was going to kill them. That's what made Vader "The Man".
Inventor of the Powebomb and one of the toughest men in the ring. A man so bad that Dragon Ball Z made a character close to him. Well he had the smoking helmet. But Vader was also one of the coolest people you ever wanted to meet
@bs4830-What up Danger Man!? LOL. Yeah man, me and you talked about this other day. Vader was/is a badass mofo. It to bad he was not as dominant in the WWF as he was in WCW. Man I heard he fucked some shit up in WCW. Overall he was an awesome force. Big, Strong, Agile, good on the mike. Just a Badass!!
Vader is one of the toughest guys to get in a scuffle with. Not very many people could touch him and he made rivalries great like ol Rick Rude did. Just a great heel to fight against and he brought so much offense to the ring with a variety of moves. Off the top rope, brawl, wrestle you just a beast. Wish I got a chance to see him live though
Vader is a true BADASS!! I have never seen anyobdy whoop so much ass...and not get arrested! LOL. One of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Thanks for posting.
Oh, and dont forget, vote Leon"Vader" White. 2012 election. Vader for President!!
I was a huge Sting fan, and when I saw promos of Vader and they were about to wrestle each other, I was literally scared for Sting's life. I mean, edge of my seat, nervous as hell for Sting's safety. Ah, the good old days.
there were only a handful of wrestlers that were not afraid of Vader. They are Steiners,Kurt Angle,The Road Warriors,Harley Race,Haku/Meng,Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody .I really miss WCW.
man the mastadon helmet thing he wore to the ring...were the eyes would light up n shoot moke out the top like it was breathing was the coolest entrance gear of all time
Something tells me that at 3:08 he did not mean to fall backwards like that. That would have been really bad if he botched it but Vader is too damn awesome to botch.
@brettmajors69karaoke Yeah you would be too if your manager use a stun gun to get your attention but I say this, Race & Vader were great together. When Race left, Vader still was a bad ass but something was missing.
And this is why Vader will be considered one of the greatest big men to ever grace the squared circle. He could brawl, he coulf fly, he was quick for his size, and he beat you like you stole something. When you got done wrestling the man you hurt, plain and simple.
Leon White aka Big Van Vader owns all. What an awesome montage! Should of been a wwf champion and imagine if Him and Bam Bam Bigelow were a tag team in the US as they were in Japan! Imagine if Vader went to Ecw to be a monster heel, instead they wanted Vader to job to new talent to put over other stars. Its ashame because he end doing that in wwf. Damn i missed his autograph signings 4 times and once he no showed cause he had a injury! I keep collecting photos of him to sign!
