  • Did that cat get hit by a car

  • what is that song thanks!

  • thats so sad looks like that cat lost his best friend

  • thats sad for a cats mate to die =(

  • As I'm watching this and tearing up majorly, all I can think is: "Stop videoing and get it to a vet pronto!"

Poor cats =(. I really did feel for the one mourning over the one that had passed away.

  • You people are fucking stupid if you actually think it's trying to mate with it. Cats do not attempt to mate with each other unless there are pheromones (the female is in heat). There certainly aren't any pheromones coming from a carcass. Not to mention, that is not what mating looks like. I've seen many mating sessions in my time and that is hardly similar. It's sad that these cats can show more emotion than some of you on here.

  • @BrandiMuffin No pheromones coming from a carcass? Really? First off the female isn't even dead yet in the video apparently and secondly you think all smells stop eminating the second the cat dies? Any dried urine or fecale matter immediately stops stinking and if the cat was in heat, she immdiately stops smelling like it? If that's what you think, then who's fucking stupid?

  • @Devedander

Actually, yes, the cat is dead. Even regardless of what I said, it's still pretty damn obvious that nothing "sexual" is going on between these two animals. These are FERAL cats, and no feral cat sticks around to try and make babies when humans are about. I have 2 feral cats in my front yard, one is in heat. The second I walk outside even if they are "in the act" they run off. You obviously know nothing of cat behavior if you honestly think this is mating related.

  • @Devedander

Also even if there were pheromones emitting from it, the stench of "DEAD" would be a lot more pungent. Necrophilia isn't something that is remotely natural in cats. Maybe if these two were DUCKS I would believe it, since they have been known to do such things.

  • @BrandiMuffin All the reports I have seen say the cat wasn't dead yet, but maybe it was. But it wasn't days dead or anything, it had just been injured. So stench of death and whatnot don't realy set in instantly it's not like you die then wreak of death seconds later.

And as for feral cats you may have country feral cats, but let me tell you in the city they are very brazen and bold.

  • @BrandiMuffin Besides you say nechrophilia isn't common, well if it's covered in teh stench of death and the male cat can tell it's dead (thus avoiding nechrophilia) how come it's still prodding the dead cat trying to get a response? That's right your logic totally falls apart... the cat is either not dead or the male cat can't tell it's dead and either way if it was in heat I garuantee the smell of heat lingers for hours on a freshly dead body.

  • @Devedander

Sorry hun, wrong again. I never said the cat recognized it was dead. I just stated other smells are emitted. Also all the reports I've seen have said it WAS dead. The cat died on impact. The cat in the video was JUST hit moments before this filming.

Also the defining factor is that the cat nestled down beside its friend and layed there. (we aren't even sure that was a female cat that died!) This does not happen in mating. They also do not stand on their mates that way. :B

  • It's funny how humans always want to deny that other animals care for others as well. This cat was trying to save it's partner even though it was too late...but even so he lies there next to her no matter what. If that's not love then idk what.

  • nossa... que fodah

  • the expression on the cat's face looks so sad, distressed. this is tragically sad and will make any one with a heart feel this poor cats' pain.

  • how can the cat know what to do? it was probably unsure what to do

  • That cat was still barely alive, you can see the ear move back a few times. Most likely dead by the time anyone was able to help.

  • he killed it and just wants it to get up so he can kill it again

  • @shadyrocks Dude.. No.

  • @Janewama He is absolutely right. The cat is trying to mate with the other cat, nothing more. You can see him try to initiate the mating part way through and biting the back of the neck is normal for mating cats, the female must be heald in place while penetrated as the male has a spiny and painful to recieve organ.

  • @Janewama really......that's what it is....sorry for spoiling your moment but he's right

  • @shadyrocks

Are you blind or what? the cat doesn't even go down. and look normally when a cat finishes mating. It goes away from the female. see 1:19-2:34 he just lies there then he goes back mating??? what the heck. and come on when a cat bites the back of the neck, it means it's going to carry it. >.<

  • @MrZelover Ummm... when an adult bites the back of the neck it means it's going to carry it's young, but you clearly don't know the mating habbits of cats... when mating it's very painful on the female and the male will bite her neck to hold her in place. Watch any lion/tiger documentary with mating if youdon't believe me.

  • this is the saddest thing i have ever seen ever... Rest in peace little kitty, rest in peace **wipes tears**

  • Belthazor, humane nature is what it is, but thats not the point of the video. The point is, that even animals have the over whelming urge to comfort and save.

  • @Janewama Actually this video shows that animals have an unending sex drive. The cat is trying to mate with a dead cat, nothing more.

  • @Devedander lol are you idiot or something. Its an obvious fact that animals mourn (birds, elephants, cats, dogs etc) and this one is not even close to a mating sequence.the paw gesture means the cat is waiting for a response from his mate. You would have known that if you had a cat or watched their behaviour.they also do that if they want a response from you. That is the way they show their love so dont demote that to a mating sequence.ıf you want to talk nonsense go post it somewhere else not here.

  • @freakquency85 Right and the biting hte back of the neck? Cats do that only when trying to make or make the other cat show submission. Obviously the latter is not the issue here. I have had many cats, my first 3 were outdoor country cats... trust me, I have seen my fair share of natural animal behavior and this definitely has all the markings of attempted mating gone wrong. You can even see him try to couple a few times.

  • The song combined witht he video is so sad, but also so touching.

    I cried <3

  • @Myrandomnesscat what makes it sad is that the cat failed. it took several hours for a vet to arrive, because the bystanders watched, instead of helping. human nature can be disgusting at times.

  • @belthazor3457 well, the main video says that the cat wouldnt let them touch the cat so its not entirely like they didnt want to help it. besides, that cat probably died on impact. the force of a full ton of metal probably shattered the skeleton and maybe gave it a quick death

  • @Redemptioner123 yes, that would probably lead to a quick death.. probably allready dead doesn't mean there's not a chance they're still alive and that one shouldn't bother to save them, though, if you understand what i mean. The cat shooed people away for a cupple hours, but it took several hours for a vet to arrive. my question would be, why'd it take so long for someone to think to call a vet?
