Sorry if this has been asked here before... But what is the signal chain here? Is it purely the M9 or are you using an extra pedal for detune? Sound fabulous! Probably the best chorus sound on YouTube!
@edovinus thanks so much for the kind words, I used a very simple setup here, guitar into an M9 on the tri chorus setting, then into a 1982 Boss CE2 chorus, then a Boss ME50 using the modulated reverb, and digital delay set to 500ms with a few repeats, then into a clean 1980 JMP Marshall.
@petejt hey thanks Pete... I've always loved that old Landau shit.. I'm stuck in some 80's timewarp..haha..!!! I don't think I'll ever get the "real" thing so this is as close as I'll get...
I using an old Marshall JMP 50 watt combo with Celestion G12-65 speakers, the Tri Chorus setting was simply the 3 Chorus voices at 75% and the mix at 90%, speed about 15%, the secret to this sound is that I added analogue delay with modulation and an old Boss CE2 to the sound... its a very "wet" sound but it captures those old 80's tones..
actually I've found a different way to achieve the same results without the M9 and I'll soon put that clip up, its much better.
well the display on the tri chorus setting on the M9 just gives you depth controls for all 3 chorus voices, I had all 3 at about 75% on the control, the mix control was all the way up and the speed control was at about 2/10, the CE2 was added in series and the controls on that were at 12 o clock...
hope this helps...
I have achieved better results with a CE2 and a Boss Harmonizer pedal... its gets REALLY close to that Tri tone.
So you're using the Harmonizer for detune/finepitch like i'm using my SPX-90 for detune. My setting for finepitch is left +7, right -7 (play stereo) and i got also a good result by using a Arion sch-1.
Do you also using this tri chorus sound when you play lead?
yes.. I use the harmonizer for a little detune... add that with an old Boss CE2 and you will get very close to that LA Landau session tone... the original Dyna My Piano Chorus was based on 3 Boss CE1 chorus voices in stereo, and this is the closest I've got to that tone, I will upload a new video soon showing this.
@mdjababoe , Landau himself would use an SPX90 for detune, to juice up his chorus sound a bit more. The TriStereo unit spreads the sound out like a bell ringing and that water-ripple like sound, and yeah the detune makes it sound more 'gooey'.
I know Landau did use a SPX90 fot detune, that's why i also have a SPX90 in my rack. Like Landau i'm using the Tri Chorus from my ModPro to spread my sound.

sounds really lush, very nice. You done a great job.
A lot of that particular sound is that Glassy Fender Twang that you get from the guitar and pickup selection, plus reverb helps a lot with the warmth

Best chorus-tone on youtube. BEAUTIFUL! 80's are here! Only guitar --> M9 (tri-chorus and mod delay) --> Ce-2 --> Amp?

Can you tell me more about your gear like what amp you were using here, speaker, delay and affcourse your tri chorus setting :-)
I'm using the tri chorus from my ModPro and was wondering if it sound the same as te M9

@gerryguitar Ok thanks but can you tell me your setting in value and not in %.
So you're running 2 chorus (CE-2 and tri-chorus) in serie?
I'm using a detune from my SPX-90 instead of another chorus unit to get that Landau liquid cleansound.
