How does the buttery gadget work? I've looked around, but can't find any information. All I can tell is that there is a little wire connected to the butterfly... but I can't even tell if the wire is propping the butterfly up against the glass when it stops fluttering.

I bought two and keep one at the office. EVERYONE has to stop and play with it. I bought it at Cracker Barrel, but Lowes and Kmart carry them too.

@ccederlo It's a super thin wire, almost like stiff fishing line, that's hooked up to a mechanism in the lid.
