it can also b atributed to his adopted dead daughter, Maria Chapman (first name was Chun Xi, then Rowena, then Maria [Sue]). shes who i attribute this song to, or Laura Ingalls Wilder. Call me crazy, but there it is. (and maria wasnt even dead when he wrote this song, far from it!)
whoa whoa whoa what's up with the religious arguments? i'm not christian in any way, shape, or form but I LOVE this song. i think anyone can relate to this song, christian, atheist, whatever. peace and love all around!
This song ROCKS!! A good song that was inspired by one of the greatest stories ever told! Also ASLAN ROCKS! The flute also added a lot. I read the books a while ago and I am in the process of reading them again.
this is such an amazing music video. i love steven curtis chapman so very much and whenever i listen to his music im just a happier person. hes an amazing role model and just a great person in general. this music video makes me soooo happy. oh 3:25 is my favorite shot. i dont know why it just is. i feel like ive watched this too much :) but in a good way! Thank you for uploading. awesome video. I'm a big fan of Steven Curtis Chapman, and if anyone doubts he's genuine, check out his songs more to this life, run away, weak days, and broken. narnia is really good too. william moseley is really cute, :)
CS Lewis wrote them as a Christian for kids. See Lewis' Mere Christianity Quotes: 1-99% of the things you believe are believed on authority. I believe there is such a place as New York. I have not seen it myself. I could not prove by abstract reasoning that there must be such a place. I believe it because reliable people have told me so.
2-We are told that Christ was killed for us, that His death washed out our sins, and that by dying He disabled death itself. That is what has to be believed.
i had the exclusive cd from sam goodies of narnia and this was one of the songs and i think my mom hid it .i loved it and listened to it like once a day for a month....but great song ..and lets hope voyage of the dawn treader is good the book is my least favorite but the trailer shows a spirit and it might be good...
omg! i;ve been searching for this song for two years, since i last listened to it on christian radio. WHoa! i'm so happy. i just stopped and dropped everything.
you can explain the message of this movie in different ways. There are beings in this movie that are from the devil. But I understand, you can call it a christian movie, but the moviemaker himself does not call it christian
@stevielolberg Actually, C.S. Lewis included ideas and characters from almost every religion in his books. And of course there are beings from the devil in the movie, the DEVIL is IN the movie, but just not usually as we see him. There is a reason why the white witch has a single burnt wing showing when she kills Aslan. And a filmmaker can't take an significantly Christian book, turn it into a movie, and claim that it isn't Christian...that's like using an apple to make blueberry pie...
americangirlrules95 well, being a Christian isn't wasting any talent. You can read most of the apostle Paul letters saying that talents and gifts are meant to use wisely for GOD's Glory.
OH! MY! GOD! I didnt know this had an actual video! I have th whole album and have been looking for a fan video for this song. I dont have to now. YAY! This is the second best song on that album only rivaled by Jars Of Clays "waiting for the world to fall"
its a such a shame that such talent, is wasted on propaganda, and spreading the disease that is religion. I remember when i bought their first album when it came out... the solo's reminded me of Malmsteen. Well as soon as I read the lyrics and found they were spreading the lies, myself and about 20 mates all destroyed the albums. There is no shame in admitting you and you family were wrong...move on and embrace life in the present.. don't live for the past!
So, if you use talent for a religion it's waste? Talent is talent no matter what, that's something you can't deny. And his lyrics are truly beautiful, not the stupid mainstream crap that's floating around with no meaning other than sex and money.
You are wrong!!! Well, Christianity isn't a religion it's a believe, in the Bible did promise to everyone who was accepts Christ and obey his command. There will be prize at the end of life journey.
Your comment shows that you may be trying to find a reason to discount the value of faith prematurely.
Take a closer look. Stephen Curtis Chapman wrote this song in memory of his three year old daughter accidentally ran over by his son. HOW, can I ask you, would a person have this kind of hope and joy in the midst of such an unthinkable tragedy? If you find the answer to this, what you are looking for will be found.
You're rather hypocritical for someone who's accusing him of spreading 'propaganda'. If you want to spread your athiest ideology, do it on someone else's page.
@Exequian hang on a minute here. remember what Jesus said...as the world hated Him he will also hate US. i cant say this enough...MATTHEW 5:44 "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES. BLESS THOSE WHO CURSE YOU. PRAY FOR THOSE WHO DESPITEFULLY USE AND PERSECUTE YOU." when darkness intrudes all to the more reason to let His light shine even brighter in you
Wow - you going on about wasting talent, and then you go around destroying it! People are always calling Christians hypocrites, but you are the walking definition.
We don't live in the past, we just accept it, and the present, and we accept the future - something you aren't doing!
@dissension666 Are you saying that Christianity is a disease? Well, people are entitled to their own beliefes, even if others think they are absolutly ridiculous. I personally can't believe that the earth came from nothing, that there was some kind of reaction that created everything out of nothing. now, I'm no scientist, but i'm pretty sure that you cant do that. I have to believe that theres someone in control out there. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.but, you can think otherwise
welll......ChezaHiwatari....Andrew (the director of narnia)made that scene.....so it would be more like a celebration....but then he said it was ok without it ...so he left it out the muvie
"The Chronicles of Narnia" isn't a book, it's a series of seven books. Each book being a piece of the overall story. "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is the second book in the series.

This is such a cool song, but for some reason, the clips don't seem to match like I had imagined them. It's still cool. I was in tears when I heard it on the radio. I'm a hardcore Narnia fan, otherwise known as a Narniac.

That was one of the purposes of the song...C.S. Lewis (author of Chronicles of Narnia) wanted to explore what Christianity would appear like in another world. Aslan is that interpretation. Although someone had to point that out to me because I never caught on even after reading the whole series 3-4 times before it was brought to my attention! :(
'Alternatively, "Remembering You" can also be interpreted in a romantic sense...'
Romantic!? I sure hope you mean the romance between Christ and His bride, the Church, because I certainly don't know of any earthly lovers who can do the sort of things that are attributed to Aslan, even figuratively, in this song. And I'm quite sure SCC meant it to represent Jesus!
Of course, this song is firstly depicting the love between Christ and his children, but that`s not to say it may mean different things to different people. Songs are strange like that. In my case for example, this song reminds me of my nephew, for various reasons. Naturally, only parts of the song can be applied there, but I think it simply depends. There is enough vagueness in the song that it could very well be interpreted as romantic. Either way, great song!
yes they are. prince caspian is going 2 come out in cinemas this yr. because of the intricate n comlpicated computer generated characters it takes 2 yrs 2 make one movie. sorry if i got any of the information wrong!!
Narnia can be taken either way. You don't have to take it with a Christian message. That's the wonderful thing about it. You can like it no matter what. I personally am a christian, so I do see the message. But my boyfriend is however, an athiest. He's not like an emo athiest or anything, he's just big into physics, evolution, and other scienc-y stuff. So he just see's it as another movie with amazing music :)
actually, the song is about Jesus. It's an allagory, so is the Chronicles. CS Lewis was a devout Christian, and wrote the series to have a Christian themed message. All the aspects/plots are based of Christianity.
Chapman wrote this song to follow that theme, and to go with the movie. The song IS about Jesus, but not obviously so.
Narnia was such a good movie

In my case for example, this song reminds me of my nephew, for various reasons. Naturally, only parts of the song can be applied there, but I think it simply depends. There is enough vagueness in the song that it could very well be interpreted as romantic. Either way, great song!

It's a book series by Suzanne Collins, and it's my favorite ever. This song fits it perfectly.

I LOVE IT narnia

*Not saying the song doesn't have a christian message, because I personally think it does.
And spelling correction to my last message, *atheist, not athiest.

So he just see's it as another movie with amazing music :)

i love this song.. and i dont love jesus :) its not about him..

actually, the song is about Jesus.
