MIND = BLOWN. KotOR 2 has always been one of my favorite games, and this just now dawned upon me. Especially considering how much I enjoy Brianna (the handmaiden). Its pretty weird to think that that woman in KotOR 2 I found the most appealing for a romance option is the daughter of the witch!
Jajaj I just noticed that Kreia knew that the echani are immune to force powers, even if they are force sensitive, she knew cuz she fell in love with Yussanis and knows her daughter is the handmaiden.

The KOTOR comics trolled the crap out of us with "KRYNDA DRAAY IS KREIA -- NO SHE ISN'T" and "LUCIEN DRAAY IS SION -- NOPE" and all that stuff. Loved it for that.
I could go on and on about why Kreia is amazing. Listening to her teaching really makes you question whether the Jedi are truly the ultimately good guys they're always made out to be. That's what I love about KOTOR II: it throws your preconceived notions about Star Wars and the Force out the window and really examines it from a different angle. Probably the best plot ever created in a video game. It's just a shame that LucasArts had to go and wound it they did.

Although I think that part of what made KOTOR so amazing is the fact that the story WAS a bit rushed, all of the characters were well fleshed out but also shrouded in mystery especially Kreia who is one of the most developed characters that we still have such little definfate knowledge about. I think thats partly what makes her such a good character.
Even with this game being mostly well incomplete I still can't believe how brilliant the story really is. It's so interesting to listen to every single one of the characters and Kreia's voice-actress must be one of the most brilliant of them all. Makes me even sadder that it was rushed. This game had the potential to be even better then the first one(and I might add that one was plain brilliant). Sad really really sad...

Kreia dies on Malachor V and whether they emphasize on the Exile's role is another matter. Personally I don't like the fact that Revan was a puppet to begin with, it takes away the image of the great leader that they potrayed him as in KOTOR 1 & 2 and we'll find out the mystery in TOR. ;D
O.o but she died ~300 years before the game The Old Republic starts... I'd love for her to be in it since she's an amazing character but it would seem a hard thing to pull off unless we get a flashback from a NPC (like Revan or the Exile) or they use her as a force ghost. Maybe finding her Holocron would work too...

@darthmaultest I really cannot agree with that. Kreia is so unique as a character, teacher, and villain. But the way how the plot reveals Kae's past and the way how Kreia speaks of her as a third person, leads me to believe that they are two different people.

She could set things into motion, too large on scale for normal person to understand, and in the end, everything would fill into its place, just as she has always planned.A true mastermind. @Silkoo10 Have you seen Chris Avellone's blog about character backstory? Kreia appears between 40-80 years old, but the truth is that her wrinkles are a result of her days as a Sith. She merely passes it off as simply being old. Granted not all of the material listed there made it into the game, and some things were changed. But Mical says it himself: he recognized Kreia and not even "the markings of the dark side" could hide her identity

So, Krea's plan was to have everyone fight each other, Atton vrs Mical, Briana vrs Visas. In game you never see that. You can get the dialog between Krea and Briana if you get a lot of influence with Visas right away. The downside is that Briana won't even speak with you if you do, so you can't train her as a Jedi, which is a waste because you wouldn't get the final scene anyway where Briana is turned to the darkside by Krea, since that part is just out. same with male counter-parts (if female)
one would believe so yes, every dialog with Krea in game points that way. Also, Briana looks like her, the hair, the face (apart from the wrinkles), everything.

It was said that Revan went to find out how to best save the jedi. I think he did indeed go to Kreia about this. But i'll bet he went to Kae as well and asked of she how to best leave the Jedi order.
You gotta give Obsidian credits for making one of the best and deepest plots in RPG history... if not THE best.
I've never played a game which dialogues are so full of questions and wisdom. And characters like Kreia and Nihilus are beyond any cliché of the typical villain. Aww damn i love this game.
I think that the fact of why the body was never recovered was because Kae never died. She is merely the woman standing before you. but of course the game is misleading of this theory. Perhaps this is why Kreia is so silent about such things.

It's amazing to realize, if you look around the net or at the discussions on Wookieepedia, that there are so many people who claim there is not sufficient evidence for this. Yep this video is all true. But Kreia isn't officially Kae, she was going to be Kae before they demolished what the final product of kotor2 was going to be like and produced that half assed game. They have thought up a new character for her to be instead of Kae. It was cooler if she was kae.
This game was originally going to be so good, with mysteries you had to uncover and piece together. Finding out the secrets of the galaxy and saving it from destruction. But it turned out like, BLAH.

It is either the truth or a major inconsistency. Three people describe the same Jedi Master using different names: Kae and Kreia. And Chirs Avellone has been told specifically not to comment on this speculation. Seems to me they just want to be able to make a new story out of it, like they did with Visas Marr and other characters from KotOR.
@inneedofakiss It would be interesting if they were to elaborate more on Kreia's role and history. In both games, Revan has such an impact on the Republic's and Jedi's history. Kreia's role in the creation of Revan and her interpretation of the Jedi code would make a great comic or novel even!
if that is the case then holy cow...it may explain some things, like Kreia having the white hair like Brianna, but thats probably because she is old, but you never know xD. It may explain why she didnt want Brianna to become a jedi, incase she too suffered the same fate as she did
Yeah, Just think about it. They were both believed to die at Malachor, Kreia obviously didnt. But Arrens body was never found wich gives even more evidence of Kriea being Arren, And she does seem to be very against the handmaiden being around her and has very little to say to her.

I think it's hard for most people to see Kreia as a motherly sort of woman (for me too) but in the Enclave and after you defeat her on Malachor, she really reveals her soft and caring side.

Every time i had a talk to some of the party members i would just speed up the conversation. But with Kreia i never did that.
Somehow the voice is nice to listen, nice to hear i cant explain it...
And the lines tehy gave to that char are the most interesting ones. Everything Kreia said was interesting to me ^^

@TheJedimaster6788 Oh you bet I'm knocking SWTOR. I'll admit that I've liked some of things I've seen. But I've also seen cliched star wars icons pulled from almost every era. I don't play KOTOR to see clones battle the Empire, I play to get a star wars experience that diverges from the norm.
I like this too. I've been a long-time believer in the two being one and the same. But I'll also have to agree with Lee038 in that the background music is way too loud.
Also, Atton makes a comment early in the game like "She (Kreia) might have been beautiful once...." I always thought this was a reference to this, since you wouldn't be able to tell how Kreia and Brianna look alike.

More originality, more intelligent plot, more suprise - more everything.
If both these games could be made into movies properly, they would easily outshine any other Star Wars movie or story before them.

@Silkoo10 Have you seen Chris Avellone's blog about character backstory? Kreia appears between 40-80 years old, but the truth is that her wrinkles are a result of her days as a Sith. She merely passes it off as simply being old. Granted not all of the material listed there made it into the game, and some things were changed. But Mical says it himself: he recognized Kreia and not even "the markings of the dark side" could hide her identity

Amazing Story writing is simply the obvious. It is a pity KOTOR 2 did not earn the respect it deserves.
The Character Kreia is one of the most amazing characters I have ever seen.

So, Krea's plan was to have everyone fight each other, Atton vrs Mical, Briana vrs Visas. In game you never see that. You can get the dialog between Krea and Briana if you get a lot of influence with Visas right away. The downside is that Briana won't even speak with you if you do, so you can't train her as a Jedi, which is a waste because you wouldn't get the final scene anyway where Briana is turned to the darkside by Krea, since that part is just out. same with male counter-parts (if female)

It was said that Revan went to find out how to best save the jedi. I think he did indeed go to Kreia about this. But i'll bet he went to Kae as well and asked of she how to best leave the Jedi order.

You gotta give Obsidian credits for making one of the best and deepest plots in RPG history... if not THE best.
I've never played a game which dialogues are so full of questions and wisdom. And characters like Kreia and Nihilus are beyond any cliché of the typical villain. Aww damn i love this game.

I think that the fact of why the body was never recovered was because Kae never died. She is merely the woman standing before you. but of course the game is misleading of this theory. Perhaps this is why Kreia is so silent about such things.

Thank you for this excellent summary video. It's amazing to realize, if you look around the net or at the discussions on Wookieepedia, that there are so many people who claim there is not sufficient evidence for this. It makes one wonder if they'd understand that Kreia was Darth Traya if she hadn't had the name floating over her head at the end.

Yep this video is all true. But Kreia isn't officially Kae, she was going to be Kae before they demolished what the final product of kotor2 was going to be like and produced that half assed game. They have thought up a new character for her to be instead of Kae. It was cooler if she was kae.
This game was originally going to be so good, with mysteries you had to uncover and piece together. Finding out the secrets of the galaxy and saving it from destruction. But it turned out like, BLAH.

It is either the truth or a major inconsistency. Three people describe the same Jedi Master using different names: Kae and Kreia. And Chirs Avellone has been told specifically not to comment on this speculation. Seems to me they just want to be able to make a new story out of it, like they did with Visas Marr and other characters from KotOR.

I thought kreia was exiled because of Revan's fall AFTER the mandalorian wars?
Brianna's mother giving birth was discovered ten years after it happened, when she was exiled. after which she went to fight inthe mandalorian wars.

@inneedofakiss It would be interesting if they were to elaborate more on Kreia's role and history. In both games, Revan has such an impact on the Republic's and Jedi's history. Kreia's role in the creation of Revan and her interpretation of the Jedi code would make a great comic or novel even!

if that is the case then holy cow...it may explain some things, like Kreia having the white hair like Brianna, but thats probably because she is old, but you never know xD. It may explain why she didnt want Brianna to become a jedi, incase she too suffered the same fate as she did

Yeah, Just think about it. They were both believed to die at Malachor, Kreia obviously didnt. But Arrens body was never found wich gives even more evidence of Kriea being Arren, And she does seem to be very against the handmaiden being around her and has very little to say to her.

I think it's hard for most people to see Kreia as a motherly sort of woman (for me too) but in the Enclave and after you defeat her on Malachor, she really reveals her soft and caring side.
I love her for all she is!

Well if someone has the first part of the game i mean the link to the download can you please tell me. Anyways in the swkotor2 my fav char was Kreia too.
Every time i had a talk to some of the party members i would just speed up the conversation. But with Kreia i never did that.
Somehow the voice is nice to listen, nice to hear i cant explain it...
And the lines tehy gave to that char are the most interesting ones. Everything Kreia said was interesting to me ^^

This was very cool - I liked the way you pieced all this together. It's such a shame that this game was never completed in its intended form. Kreia kicks ass and I think it would be nice if there were at least a few references of her in the upcoming 'Old Republic' game. Thanks for posting this.

Also, Atton makes a comment early in the game like "She (Kreia) might have been beautiful once...." I always thought this was a reference to this, since you wouldn't be able to tell how Kreia and Brianna look alike.

And Atton mentions her former beauty all the time. Damn it's so obvious. Although i had always assumed that Atton killed Arren Kae as a Sith Assassin.
