You watch this and watch gymnasts such as Dobre and Silivas and wonder how it is that Romanian gymnastics descended into such unimaginative robotics in the mid to late 90's. This girl could dance! So could Aurelia and Dani. What a pleasure she was to watch.

I love her compulsory routine, although had the Soviets been present they would have blown her out of the water. Nonetheless, deserving of a ten. Power and extension and expression!

Had Mostepanova been here she probably would have won all 6 gold medals. Well maybe on bars she gets only a bronze, then she probably wins team, all around, vault, beam, and floor golds.

Well said, Brenda, but what's done is done. So many ppl protest & retort when I say this, but I challenge those who DON'T KNOW gymnastics to compare SIDE BY SIDE the all-around routines of Retton & Szabo and decide 4 themselves. She (Retton) would have NEVER won this outside the states.

At least thats one good thing about modern gymnastics (and there arent many), the marking is definitely fairer and less nationality or personality.

her event final floor routine ust have been nerve wrecking since there wasa black out ofr 7 minutes before she started. i would be scared to death thinking that the lighs could go out any second again in my routine.
