  • this didnt work for me, what worked was take out the battery on the motherboard

  • Brilliant vid, top bloke, cheers. Got an ancient PC that has this trouble, so I will try your trick & get back to you. It used to 'fix' itself after varying amounts of downtime, but you mentioned it happens when the RAM gets dirty, so I can well imagine it's clogged up with years of dust, given my cleaning regime (or lack of). Got loads of 'important' files on it that I want to get copies of before I ditch it completely & stick to my shiny new laptop. Hopefully you've spared me a repair bill...

  • I have this problem. I turn on my computer and it beeps like it actually does but longer and

then nothing. When I restart my monitor and it says 'no signal'.

  • Hi, Pete. i recently bought a new graphics card. But, when i play games for about 30 minutes -1 hour, suddenly there are many horizontal and sometimes vertical black line appear on my screen but the game visual still running. Plus, sometimes there was a split line in between my screen The left side to right side and left side to right side. Then i quit to desktop and a notification pop up. 'Display driver stop working and has recovered' I install the latest driver but the same problem occured.tq

  • Hey quick question,

I recently got a load of new upgrades,

put it all together & got this issue with signal to monitor,

I thought it was my graphics card so switched it back to my old one, which worked

I sent the new card back, they checked it, said it works & are gonna send it back.

Maybe when I re-installed my old card I nudged the ram and corrected this very issue,

I will re-install the new card when it gets here,

if I get the issue again, anyone have any tips for fixing this?

    Thanks

  • Hi! Hpdv7-1245dx. I believe i have a corrupt bios. No signal on monitor n no keyboard responds. I reset rams n hard drive. Computer comes on, fan, lights, fan goes off after 2 sec or so. It stops before the blue light comes on for internet. Light stays red. I press for computer to go off. after it starts up, it goes back to the same thing. I can't check anything with no screen n board. Is there a way to fully restart the computer, may be from motherboard etc? I don't think it's fully restarting.

  • the computer screen you show at first flashing, thats what mine was doing, I powered it off by unplugging the pc, and now it says no input signal when I turn it on?

  • @flsurfbabe123 if you got a graphics card push it in but not too much prossure then clean your ram dims like he said if it is not that then your mobo might have burnt

  • Thanks a million Pete. When playing a computer game, the screen froze, so my son turned the power off at the mains!!!! On next boot-up all we got was 'no signal to monitor'. Tried several times and I was about to give up, with thoughts of a new motherboard or new hard-disk or something similarly expensive. Did a quick Google search on my wife's Ipad and came across your video. Followed your instructions and within 5 minutes we were up & running. God bless you!

  • @Bammer958 was it pluged into a power strip?

  • @GamersCanGame Yes i dont know what to do?

  • Worked like a charm. Today I turned on the computer to a weird noise and no signal to the monitor. The computer had a prominent hum over the last couple of years so I thought it was a goner until I saw this video. Got out the vacuum cleaner and thoroughly cleaned the fans and inside the computer. I then took out and reinserted the RAM as described in the video , turned on the computer and it worked! The vibration/hum that I had been living with is gone and the computer is working faster! GREAT

  • THANK YOU! you just saved me alot of time and money

  • FAB, you make a video about repairing PCs and Laptops and want ppl to subscribe to make money, I like that! And you tell us to stay away from PC repair shops such as your own? Hmmm, something does not make sense here :P

  • I used to frown upon the title which includes "... for dummies," but now I embrace that word - tough love in order to kick home the truth. ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS. if one is uncertain, especially on the job. Don't just let them show, let them teach. With all of the million-one thing that I have seen by high professionals, etc. I should be the best at many things, but only a few. Be dumb so that you can be smart.

  • Pete please answer me :) Is this way to fix my problem if i play like modern warfare 2 game i can play it maybe 5min - 2h then my screen shuts down and says "no singal detected" this is acer aspire with BenQ screen. Thank you alreary ;)
