  • Hi Bruh' thanks for the show of your knives eh! they are all interesting, my particular liked one is the Bulgarian Ox Bone handled one, and the Budding knife, as the factory is now gone, it's a lovely piece of history now. The Soviet folder has an interesting main blade shape, perhaps changed due to many sharpening sessions.

  • I bought the Ox bone 4 years ago from a traditional crafts fair! This summer I was on the same spot looking for another one but there were only with antler handles:-(.Vere good knife but the handle must be carefully dried after using it,otherwise it starts to decompose and smell bad!Thats why many people prefer plastic handles, but they are not eternal either ha ha!

  • You have me thinking now, about your Ox bone handle, I have always wondered what was meant by the knife maker " stabilizing " Mammoth Ivory for use in a knife handle - perhaps that is to stop it rotting ?? As for " Plastic ", it has it's uses, put not my favourite for knife handles, I was playing with the idea of getting a couple of reasonable bladed knives ( with plastic handles), and re-working a better material handle on them !
