  • OK, it's Friday, can I make the naughty observation now? :P

  • Oh, what did I do? Was I too Friday-ish?

  • Pure charm. You can cut it with a knife. ;)

  • It's strange but out of all the great 'La ci darem la mano' duets Allen's done onstage, I have to say that this has got to be my favourite version despite it being done in a recital. The charm of the two singers here, as you say, I think has a lot to do with it, I suppose.

  • @schweitzer006325 She's awfully tall, isn't she? I have memories of her (and also Carol Vaness) looking down on various tenors. ;)

Something to try: Mute the sound and just watch these two.

Next: Don't watch, just listen. Some very good singing going on there.

  • Indeed, even Allen mentioned a production of 'Le nozze di Figaro' where the Susanna was only about 5' and Flott, who was playing the Countess, is at the stately height of 5' 11"! It caused a bit of a problem for him as he joked that not even the most idiotic of Counts could fail to distinguish between his wife and her maid!

As for your suggestions, I think I'll try that next time! =)
