  • As soon as I can get a new turn table....Smile

  • Well you all seem to have most of Star's albums out here, so I won't bother reposting songs from the ones I have. But I do have packed away in storage

    "Dale Talbot & The Dementionals."

  • @stukesbr can you put up "one of these mornigs?

  • Elder Lewis, was definitely an inspiration to us young and upcoming choir directors of the 70's and 80's in the DC area. I even incorporated some of his directing techniques. Our churches used to fellowship a couple of times a year, he saw me directing our choir once and afterwards he encouraged me to continue on on with God. It was so inspiring coming from him. I'll never forget it.

  • It was a great honor growing up in the legacy of Eld. Harvey Lewis Jr. & Star of Bethlehem Youth Choir but it was a blessing to be his God-daughter. I praise God for his sermons through song!!!!

  • My Goodness!

  • WOW!! I just wished everyone could have seen him direct. THE GREAEST EVER!!!

  • Ok Sir, its your turn once again. I know I have told you before, but you really are a blessing to us. I pray that God gives you your heart's desire. Bless U.

  • That was great! It brought back some wonderful memories of that awesome Man of God and his choir. It was his gift that inspired me to pray for the Gift of Songwriting. I believe it was 30 years ago this month that he left us for heaven. We miss you Harvey!

  • My man, my man!!! I sang on a couple of Stars albums. These were the best days of my spiritual life when I actually sat up and heard the Word when Harvey spoke. Super anointed, man of GOD. We could sit around the table and talk for days, weeks about our experiences in that choir at that church. My spiritual growth was by leaps and bounds there at Star. I never saw the Word demonstrated or presented in such a vivid and clear way as when Harvey "Only Speak the Word".

  • come on with it my god.

  • Thank you Thank you!! I love this song and have been looking for it for years.

  • Sad to say that I was born after Harvey died and did not get the chance to meet him. All I have is stories from my father and the rest of my family and had pics of Harvey in the family photo album sitting in my grandparents' living room but it seems to be misplaced. Its truly an honor to be in the best family in the world...the Lewis family.

  • @ survinitup whatever happened to donaflyn crawford ?

  • if u scroll down a little...donaflyn's son jaime commented...if you might want to ask him...just a suggestion

  • wow Donnie ..he could sing his face off im in ca. now ..lost contact with members ..were you a member?

  • @1121fatboy He's now Pastor Crawford. He's still singing & so is his son Jaime!!!

  • Wonderful memories!!! I had the opportunity to sing and record with Star Choir. Harvey Lewis Jr., Winona and Marie had a special gift. Pastor Lewis Sr. reminded us that we were first a church choir. We sang the word of God and the choir was truly anointed. An unforgetable experience.... I wish there was a dvd or video available. The Thursday rehearsals were the best. If you met Harvey, you would never forget him. He was such a kind person. Harvey is enjoying Jesus.........RIP

  • hello there..were you a member? for the last album my name is enoch ...i had the pleasure of recording with the choirs last album with Harvey

  • Hey Cathy: Didn't know this was going on about Harvey on YouTube. How awesome. We can share our memories of him publicly. Just to see the out pouring of love and admiration for the awesome man of GOD. I know Jesus is well pleased.

  • Wow....memories!

  • Man I love this song. I wish they would reproduce this song. To be honest a couple of years my sister and brother came across this and taught it to the choir and we tore it up. Those people were like where did yall get that song. Old school the best!

  • Wow. This was recorded the year I was born. Sad to say though I was born into the Star of Bethlehem family, I did not get to experience knowing such a legend.

  • hello there ..an honor to text you lol i was in the choir and your dad was my HERO ...he can sing his face off ....lol great mentor as a young singer ..in d.c still?

  • The entire album is a masterpiece!

  • This is awesome!!! He's been gone now some 29yrs and still his music is able to reach out to people all over the place right here on Youtube. He was an amazing man and amazing husband and an amazing dad!! Whoever put this up thank you.

  • I was deeply moved by Professor Harvey Lewis & Star Of Bethlehems musical work. Can anyone tell me how to get or buy a copy of any of their albums if available especially the one that has " Where there Is Unity".

  • Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!! The Star Of Bethlehem Youth Choir came to our church in Baltimore, MD in 1978. I was a young drummer. Our music ministry was influenced beyond words to say the least! We were devistated over Elder Harvey's passing. I still direct like him till this day! I can't help it, he was so anointed!!! That was the first and last time I ever seen a director in a sleeveless choir robe with brogan boots/SuperTimbs on! Again Greater Hope COGIC was toe up that night fo sho!

  • Yes my uncle was a very talented man! Unfortunately he died right before I was born so I can only go on words and recorded memories. I appreciate the love that you all have given and the music still lives on thru my mom, Evang. Winona Lewis Jones

  • Your uncle was DA-MAN...Choir Director Extroidinaire. There are not any like him. He encouraged the choitr to be not only talented, but anointed. I am so glad that I got to not only meet him, but be encouraged by him.

  • Your uncle was my sister and my spiritual godfather we loved him dearly this is the the first picture I've seen of him in 30 yrs it brought me to tears I miss him I wish I could talk to him he'd put in my place and pray ask your mom about mother Mitchell and her girls

  • When I heard this song I can only think of my dearest friend karen Thigpen who used to kill this song.

  • These are great songs by Star of Bethlehem. Growing up in the DC area, "Star" was absolutely prolific in every respect. The passing of Harvey Jr. was a blow. Thank the LORD for his musical legacy. He is not forgotten. Thanks for posting.

  • Does anybody have copies of any of Star's albums for rent, sale, as a blessing...? I've been trying to get my hands on any of them for years and Harvey's sister, Winona, ain't sharin'! lol

  • Me oh My, a young Tawatha singing Gospel like only she can! She has a such a spine-tingling powerful voice that has grace so many recordings for so many artists. We truly owe her a lot!!
