  • they say a young michael jordan watched this very same ExpertVillage video growing up..

  • hey, would it be pylometric if i did that once, then a complete broad jump forward so thats 1 both combined. and keep doing that?

  • nice video Sir!

  • okay... i hear what all the speed freaks are saying...but technique will keep you from getting injured and thats what he is teaching... with repetition of skilled movement lends for optimal results.

  • this makes u jump higher??runn faster??

  • that kills the legs after 20 lol

  • he sums up the idea very well in the end :)

  • touch and go, touch and go!!!!!!!!!

  • i inured my knee not doing this but doing some plyometrics, i think i went too fast, any ideas on how long i should rest until i exercise again?

  • i like doing this with a partner facing me where you do it at the same time and when you jump you slap hands like a high5.... or technically a high10 haha

  • 1 foot of air

  • lmao hes gonna be working on the glooch (gooch)

  • Take the jump squat challenge at Konkura.com and win a pair of Asic Gel trainers

  • is this george bush's father hahahahahah

  • this is a fucking joke...who doesn't know this?

Do we need someone to teach us how to walk with 2 legs?

  • @d3rfliw A lot of people don't know this

  • i gotta do these outside cause i hit the ceiling with my hands and once with my head

  • @RedEyePergo lol..so much dangers for u

  • Nice vid`

  • how about a box jump... this is appropriate for those over 40 year old, and is completely fine if that is its aim.

  • What are the advantages of doing these kind of workouts instead of the static ones(normal squats, normal push ups etc)?Other than being fatigued faster of course

  • @peleador1 explosivness

  • @peleador1 because your muscles become resistant to repetitive exercises making those same movements easier. Variety & proper technique is the key to achieving fitness goals. Variety also greatly reduces your chance of muscle injury by not doing the same exercises every time you train

  • @peleador1 these types of workotus will help shock your system and are also very good for developing explosive power which can help in sports, if you lok at mma and other fighter training they always have explosive (plymetric) moves to help increase speed and power (im a martial artist and use these moves alot)

Give some explose moves a go in your workouts :)

    peace

  • As a beginner this TOTALLY helped me, I tried these yesterday AND WAS UNSURE ABOUT FORM. GREAT VID

  • why do u need the writing in the way so u cant see the video

  • YouTube is becoming a place of hate and obscurantism. I'm sure the chairman himself might be disappointed after 5years. It seems none is taken seriously anymore. Sport has never been a joke Seeing this teacher trying to help n being cussed by ignorants n morrons. It's really sad to say the amounts of true athletes this planet holds. Good plyometrics anyway, core n spine stability, ham, quads n glutes xplosion

  • I hate what is happening to youtube.

  • we call these 'leapers' in football. they hurt so bad

  • i as a karate guy never did any plyometric exercises like this, seems like it would be good to start with it

  • You deffinetly should. I noticed great improvements with my kicks for doing these kind of drills. They make ur kicks faster, more explosive and more effective. And u gain speed and agility (need to do a LOT of stretching). Me as a b-baller and a thaiboxer gained 5 inches vertical by doing plyos combined with weight training in two months. That was awsome. Then I went military service and lost every inch of my gains :D Need to work out again

  • @mutzilnosoundl funny story

    hooaaahh

  • its all about training the correct energy system... whatever sport that may be, your training routines should be based on what system(s) are used during actual gameplay...

  • This man knows what he is doing. Be nice people....

  • its so frustrated reading comments that say " he is crap, he doesnt know what he is saying" and etc. why dont u use ur brain and thing thy are posting these videos to help you not because they like it. (retards).

  • Why are people always trying to correct those who post helping videos. Everyone's an expert, right? There's nothing wrong with the way he does it. Especially for beginners. Wider base and slow tempo= safety. Once the individual builds enough foundational strength, he/she can increase the tempo. Continue to post videos like this because totally help my clients.

  • i agree

  • @alcgman actually, im definitely no expert, but to increase vertical leap, which is the main reason people do plyometric exercises, you have to do these exercises fairly fast, as to jump higher its all about explosive jumping, so if u just keep doing it slowly, ur just going to build on your endurance, so its not very helpful, for example if ur training for a 100m dash, ur not going to go jog 2miles, because thats endurance and not sprinting

  • @HellsLightOne The main reason ppl do plyometric exercises are not to increase vertical leap. Plyo can be done in many kinds of exercises not involving the legs.

If you jump fast, you will exhaust yourself and wont be able to jump as high. Google Muscle and learn about the diffrent kind of musclefibers and which ones are endurant and which ones are explosive.(Hint: The explosive ones are not endurant).

If you jump slow you wont build endurance. Jump fast and you will.

  • @HellsLightOne Question..so if you do them fast and explosively do you have to jump you know high doing them?Like jumping your max while going fast back up.

  • how often can i do the exercise~ every day~

  • rest is very important when training with explosive, power workouts... not only for your muscle fibers to repair but for you joints as well.. this type of training is very high impact

  • he looks like a frog in the last 15 seconds

  • Mr. Dynamic.,....yessir

  • Seriously guys this one rocks. It is impossible to do at the start. But after a few weeks/months you can do 4 sets of 15.

Sprinting is also really good for building leg strenght.

  • @eannametal THANKS FOR SAYING THAT! I tried these yesterday and was so disappointed when I couldn't do the full 4 sets but i did my best.

  • My knees hurt.... :(

  • fun :D

  • How often should these exercises be done? And should they be done at high intensity or just focused on accuracy of movement like he is?

  • accuracy is key and speed will gradually increase as your become better and get more muscle memory.

  • high intensity always.

  • He is good, and he teaches good to.

  • that's so dynamic

  • This Guy knows how to train

  • again, he's an excellent contributor to you tube

  • As an athlete looking for help with plyometric drills, this will be helpful. I knew about the alignment/collapsing of the knees, but not about loading by keeping my weight back more. I am going to add these drills to my other plyometric drills.

  • so in other words, this explosive squat plyometrics training exercise is....a jump?

  • duhh

  • before when l was doing squat without discarding legs ,, l got pain joins ,, so to avoid pain joints ,,discard them ,,my personnel opinion

  • why do you discarte your legs ?

  • You need strong legs to jump high and abs to control that jump :D

  • thanks

  • the goal is explosive power, not control of movement.half arsed demo and explanation.

  • Nice ass

  • hahahahaha

  • this is rly helpful for athletes like basketball players who want 2 work on their foot work n jump higher n stuff like that

  • nice!
