I always loved the way the gal sang the "Rinso" version of the "You Are My Sunshine" song. I would stop and listen to the commercial, when it would come on the TV, just to hear the song! GREAT! 10+ stars!
OMG. I haven't seen this commercial since I was a little kid in the Dark Ages. No one believed me that they sang it to You Are my Sunshine. HA! Vindicated at last.
This may be the original commercial, which did not have a tag. It seems that it's playing a bit faster than it did on TV. The commercial was revised, however, after it first came out...after the jingle, the suit said something to the effect of "You don't really need sunglasses, but the Sunshine Whiteners in new Rinso are the closest thing you can get to clothesline sunshine."
Then Mary's friend comes on with the tag, "it really does act new!" Then, the music riff and the zoom-in/zoom-out!
First time I've seen this commercial in over 40 years...the zoom-in, zoom-out at the end, combined with the go-go music, made this one stick out from all the other "my laundry is SO gray!" ads from the other brands...
Unfortunately, the sun went out for Rinso in the 1970s...
i remember seeing this on a episode of Dark Shadows..sometime ago on here.

I haven't seen this since the mid 60s but over the years I would remember it and sing the words.

I remember this from when I was about ten. I really liked this song like it was a real rock song. I still find it srangely compelling.

Dig those crazy mod circular sunglasses that the 2nd woman has to put on to cope with that blinding Rinso glare.

I could watch this all day. It's radical!

Thus is too funny...sounds like a very young Cindy Lauper.

She would be very young...Cyndi Lauper was 13 in 1965!

Where is the rest of the commercial? The one I saw had a guy with a suit and then Mary's friend saying some stuff. Great commercial though.

This ad could have been New Wave in the '80s! Really ahead of its time.
