  • I love caves and the preservation of earth, but as far as Mammoth Cave.. I don't like how they tampered with it, making stairs.. doors.. lights.. and all other man made things to "assist" humans in touring it. (I'm gonna go with a buddy of mine and sneak in and discover the untouched parts of the cave that have yet to be revealed.) We're extreme "cavers", highly exp. in this subject. I'll get back to you on this... or maybe you'll never hear from us again. AGARTHA HERE WE COME!

  • So cool I just went 2day in the new entry tour its awesome I loved it would go back for sure :)

Check me out ShellSeeker01 ps I had the same idea I'm putting a mammoth cave slide show on here 2

  • Dang that looks cool!

If it wasnt for a stupid SOB at my school i would have went

  • I'm going there this Wednesday with my school, I'm really excited, though I'm scared of heights so I'm not sure how it will work out.

  • Deep deep cave;]

  • This cave is one of a few ways to reach hollow earth; supposedly.

  • @kanarvin hey i live in wilmington, nc im thinking about riding my bike there but how will i now how to break through?

  • @GuruGifter lol not sure, but if I lived around there Id go with ya.

  • I went to these caves as a kid, remember it being pretty darn cool; took some pictures with a disposable camera, but destroyed the camera by accident ARRRGGGH, lost all the awesome pictures!!!

  • i live in kentucky and visited there. it is so amazing. there are little passage ways everywhere.

  • It looks so pretty i havent been there but im studing it in class

  • I was just there yesterday truly amazing and beautiful

  • Not to mention mammoth is considered to extend well past 1,000 miles long so Carlsbad can't even begin to compete. Mammoth is one of the nations biospheres. They leave the bats in their natural habitat they won't cage them. No other cave in the world shares mammoths history and importance to our nation. There are notable confirmed visitors such as Sir Isaac Newton, Mark Twain, Jesse James, civil war General Morgan and tons of others whose names are carved Into it's walls. To me this is far bett

  • @Alice5130 I did some research after reading your comment. As where I appreciate opinion, Carlsbad has claim to the "big room" which is considered it's feature attraction. It happens to be the third largest chamber in north America and the 27th largest in the world. If you stretched it out and put it in mammoth it would go from the historic entrance to just past the rotunda. No where near better at all

  • We took the tour yesterday it goes over 800 feet deep and at some places un touranle they believe over 2000 feet or more. It's very affordable u should deffinately go

  • i herd there used to be a dead indian on display in the cave

  • @Pinstr A mummified Indian was displayed in a glass case for many years, but was later given a proper burial. You can learn a lot about the history and geology of Mammoth Cave by reading the book "The Longest Cave" by Roger W. Brucker and Richard Watson. You can order it through Amazon.

  • Carlesbad Cavern is way better. It has more things to see and more formations. Plus the cave is still forming farther on and there's a bat exibit at the mouth of the cave.

  • 300 feet down not 250

  • it is in edmonson county kentucky. i just said that because they never do and it PISSES me of

  • Does anyone live in the cave?

  • There is nothing like Mammoth Cave, especially the Frozen Niagara section. I have taken every tour, and still go back at least twice a year. I never get tired of it.

  • @FRDndsn What is at the end of the cave? Has anyone ever walked to the end? I heard if you keep walking down a cave it gets extremely hot...is this true? Thanks for any info you can provide.

  • @purplefetus3 There is no "end." Mammoth Cave is like a bowl of spaghetti, with hundreds of miles of interconnecting passages that criss-cross in every direction. There are many entrances. Explorers have gone in one entrance and come out the other, but there is no end. New passages are still being discovered. Explorer/author Roger Brucker has predicted that Mammoth Cave will eventually be 1,000 miles long, as new passages and connections are discovered. As for the temp, the cave is 54 degrees.

  • @FRDndsn Wow, that is fascinating. So geographically how far does it extend? Does it go deeper and deeper? Or does it just continue laterally across the earth? Could you end up in another state if you keep walking through it? Is it a natural formation or did ancient animals or people create it? Thanks! ...I'm gonna have to visit this place for sure.

  • @FRDndsn I <3 54 degrees, but are you talking farenheit or celcius, Im just wondering because 54 degree farenheit is fine for me but i think 54 degrees celcius is kinda warm.

  • gracias es impresionante ~!!! parece como si no fuese en la tierra

  • I live near Mammoth cave and itis packes every summer

  • cool! there's an orb in one of your photos and its completly solid!!!!!!!! AWESOME

  • Hmm, I see it too.

  • that was the star chamber the orb was to be a moon and there was a bunch of stars so when explorers first found mammoth cave they thought it was a canyon at night so they went to sleep and when they woke up everything was the same they put there lanterns up into the air and saw it was a certain substance of crystal so they left and named it the star chamber

  • I Went There 3 Or 2 Weeks Ago It Was Fun !!

  • So is this place lighted?

  • Take a tour but break one of the stalactites/ stalagmites = hefty fine

  • Mammoth cave is awesome! Took a tour, but I'd love to take an all day tour someday. Love the video - hate the song, sorry.

  • WOW! I have already studyed all of this

  • been there twice. orbs show up in pictures

  • My grandfather owned a large lot before the government forced him to sell it to make a national park. Does the person(s) who lives close to there have an interest to interview the old folks before the history and culture is lost?

  • This video is sooo cool! Love the musical number too.

  • I cant tell if you mean it cause your usually an ass. ;)

  • our 4th grade class is going this Friday I'm so excited!!! we have to get up at 5 in the morning though

  • I went last week with a choir, and they had us sing underground. It was pretty cool.

  • Tha'd be pretty awesome, what with the sound echoing through all the tunnels. I want to go now D=

  • Sometimes a website's comments section screws up and you click multiple times to try and post something. So it's not Jezzz's fault they looked like a spammer.

  • kewl im goig soon

  • i live 3 miles from there...

  • @deamonslaor5 Do any wild animals live in the cave besides your typical bats?

  • @purplefetus3 not really. i mean, of course there's the crickets and stuff, but nothing particularly unusual.

  • @deamonslaor5 How deep into the earth's crust does this cave go? Does it go in depth or is it formed parallel to the ground?
